“Why did you start?” Haneul tilted his head a little in interest in the other’s story. Kass didn’t seem to be too phased about being on the island, while Haneul was… properly scared at times. 

“I’m glad you’re not dead,” he started, smiling faintly. “But nobody really deserves this shit.”

That was a sobering thought. Kass nodded his head, crossing his arms as he weighed in on it. Yeah, nobody deserved this, least of all people like Hanuel, those escorts who weren’t anything bad...just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

“ Easier than getting a job or going to University. Pay out’s quicker.” That was his simple and honest reasoning for his turning to criminality, “ Some of us weren’t gonna make it to heavan, anyway. At least they got a pool here.”

Though perhaps a morbid thing to say, Kass laughed.

“ Speaking of it -- we should go for a swim.”

Haneul brushed some hair out of his face as he was put down, and looked up when he felt the other’s hand caress his cheek. Kass was confusing, to say the least, but there was something that had kept him from being properly pissed off.

“Uh, I was travelling,” he said with a shrug. “Took a year before I’d get to work, did some translating jobs on the road. I was in LA when I got taken. How about you?”

Maybe Kass felt differently abot being here -- not as disheartened -- because he believed he deserved to be here. You know what they say: Karma’s a bitch. With a life like his, something was bound to come back and bite him on the ass.

“ After about 18 I started making my way as a theif.” he explained, “ Stole some shit from the wrong guy and ended up here. Would’ve happened sooner or later. Least I’m not dead.”

Holden looked over at the other male and bit his lip a little. “Yeah. I do. Is there something wrong with that?” He asked, raising a brow at the raven-haired male. “And I’m only into guys.”

“ Don’t blame ya. They catch feelings too easy.”

He said it offhandedly, not at all interested in making small talk. He just had so many questions. Really stupid questions but that was to be expected coming from Kass. He’d stopped talking after that last retort, just staring at the guy’s crotch. He snapped out of it eventually, looking the other escort in the face with a smile like he hadn’t been gawking.

“ I’m Kass.” it probably would be rude not to introduce himself at this point, “ Who’re you?”

“No wait–” Haneul had been prepared to struggle away from Kass, but then he was picked up and swung over the other’s shoulder. He shifted a little, mostly because he wasn’t really comfortable, and let out a sigh.

“Put me down,” he muttered, kind of accepting his fate at this point. “You’ve made your point, Kass.”

Kass did as he was asked, setting Hanuel back on the ground. The other escor wasn’t much of a rough-houser, that much could be said, and Kass inwardly made a note to remember that. Everything about Kass was boistrous but Hanuel seemed a peaceful soul. Affectionately Kass cupped the other’s cheek, caressing it with his thumb. Hanuel was cute and he did so enjoy cute things.

“ What’s your story?” he asked, genuinely curious, “ How’d you get here?”

(Kyle laughed and tried to dodge the older boy) I am not!  (He smiled) Okay then i’ll do that.  Just don’t hate me because me trying to get a master…(He blushed) I don’t think the other escorts probably think i’m weird.

I know people think I’m weird. But I embraced that a long time ago. Couldn’t give two fucks now what anyone thinks of me.

Haneul’s cheeks turned a hot red for a second as he looked like the other had just spawned a second head. “I’ll keep it at Kass, if you don’t mind.” He chuckled, shaking his head. “I don’t even think you’re older than me.”

The look on Hanuel’s face made everything worth it. And that blush -- he’d definitely need to see that again.

“ Maybe not. But, I am bigger than you.” Kass pointed out, “ And I can pick you up -- like this.”

The guy just felt a demonstration was keenly necessary. So, he did eactly what he said he could do, grabbing Hanuel about the waist and throwing the smaller boy of his shoulder in a fireman’s carry.

“ If that’s not Daddy material, I don’t know what is.” he snickered.

“I agree 100%. I never said anything was wrong with being bizarre or weird.”

“ Do you like reading?”

“I mean, one is a bird and the other is a desk, so I would assume they’re not alike at all.”

“ People back then were crazy. Must’ve been all the chlorine gas from the factories.”

Sorry I shouldn’t have said that…(He shook his head) No no hey its okay you didn’t know.  (He beamed and hugged the man again) I promise i’ll be the best friend a friend could ever have okay?  I’ll make you so proud!

You’re fuckin’ cute. [ Kass pinched the younger boy’s cheeks] But you don’t have to do anything but be yourself.

Yeah.  (He blinked) Really?  Damn I haven’t watched that movie in so long.  It was always really trippy.  So did the Mad Hatter ever say the answer?

Nope. That’s the agonizing part. [Kass stuck his tongue out, absolutely through with trying to reason with the little riddle.] I bet there’s a clever answer, though.

(Kyle grinned as he was put down leaning in to the older boy’s touch) Well i’ve been a slave since I was twelve.  I always had one master or a couple and none of them were my friends just owners.  I mean sometimes they said I was a good boy so that was nice.  (he blushed) I used to tell myself they were my friends, but that was because I was lonely.

Shit....that’s depresing as fuck. [ Mentally Kass kicked himself as he blurted that out. The guy was uncouth but empathized with Kyle in a very real way.] Fuck, I didn’t mean to say that. [ He paused with a sigh, deciding it’d be best not to put his foot in his mouth further. He put his hands on Kyle’s shoulders, giving a resolute nod.] We’ll definitely be friends forever in that case.

“No…why, do you?” Ally asked with a confused tilt of his head.

“ I do...” Kass trailed off, apparently very deep in thought on this matter, “....They’re nothing alike...right?”

Damn i’ve heard that one before…but god knows I can’t remember.  So how are they?  Is it something to do with Edgar Allen Poe?

No, but I can see how you might think that with Poe being synonymous with ravens.It was said by the Mad Hatter, y’know, the one from Alice In Wonderland.

(Kyle giggled as he was picked up and twirled) Promise till the day I die!  (He kissed Kass’s cheeks and nuzzled in close) Does this mean we’re friends?  I haven’t had any in a long time.

Yeah -- we’re friends. [ Kass put Kyle down, carding his fingers through the other’s hair.] Why haven’t you had friends in a long time?

(Kyle was rapt listening to Kass.  He chewed his lip and nodded slowly making a small oh sound with his mouth) I guess..if I had been free too i’d see it your way.  (He hugged the boy tightly) I’ll always look out for you though.  Just don’t hate me if I end up becoming a fat slave ok?

[Kass fell into the hug easily, affectionate regardless of anything else said about him. Kyle was smaller than him, at 6′4 pretty much everyone was smaller than him. He picked his new friend up, twirling around.] I promise if you promise?
