"wonderful idea." klaus rummages through his meatsuit's files for a notebook and a couple of pens—black ink for her, red for him. he throws it at katherine. it spins and slides on the desk, coming to a stop right in front of her. it's more than half full with the ramblings of an occult aficionado masquerading as a history teacher, but she has enough space to write on.

"i'll grade you on your answers. maybe it will keep you occupied long enough for dear greta here to do her job in peace."

Though the pen flies toward her like a dart, she catches it effortlessly.

"What the hell," she mumbles, peering down her nose at the teacher's notes, which could have been penned in an asylum. Then, her mouth shrugs; he's not as bland as his home décor suggests.

Katherine looks up at Klaus. "A questionnaire usually has questions."

She hums, staring blankly at the high school teacher's sorry excuse for a feature wall. Katherine has been stuck in some mind-numbing holding places in her time, but having Klaus as her jailer is a new low.

"I can fill out a questionnaire if you want," she offers, bored.

if this is what helps her sleep at night, klaus will allow her the small comfort. mostly because if he were to point out every single reason why katherine is wrong, they would be here all day.

"keep up with you skipping from town to town, hiding from big bad me, no doubt." his mouth curls obnoxiously. "i find it commendable, really. must be difficult to run in heels. i can't imagine the blisters."

"Well," she doesn't mean to be pedantic, but if Klaus insists, "Only your human doppelgänger would have those sorts of ailments."

"You could always massage the next one's feet before you turn her neck into a spray fountain." Katherine subtly eyes him up and down, her top lip almost curling. "If that's what you're into."

"I'm not inept," she argues, crinkling her nose. Klaus is like a wasp. Try as she might to sit still in his presence, he can sting regardless.

"I've chosen to forgo friends." Cynics would say that's because she's here to win; sentimentalists, to save herself the heartache of losing people. Yet Katherine elaborates, rather snide, "No one can keep up."

Upon seeing the absolutely rancid sight of Klaus, she throws up a bit in her mouth and has to swallow it like a champ. She runs away. A scaredy cat, or a scaredy Kat, if you will. Some might say she flees like a pussy ass bitch. I, the narrator, wouldn't. But some might.
