“True, true,” he agreed, head nodding as a chuckle rumbled in his chest, “I got a few habits I ain’t mad ‘bout.” The list was rather short but still, he could appreciate those ‘good’ habits for what they were. Them making money together certainly made the list. “Yeah, that’s one of ‘em,” he agreed with another laugh, not at all upset with how their business arrangement was going. So far, it’d been good for the club, funneling more money into hardworking pockets. That was all he wanted at the end of the day, especially in recent months when so much from a personal standpoint had felt so bleak to him. At least he could say that the club was still pushing forward, even if he himself felt stuck.
Still, he was fighting not to show it, especially now, when the town was trying to have a good time– once again at the mercy of an event. He liked to think he was doing a good job at concealing how he felt, but even if he wasn’t, he greatly appreciated not being called on it. He’d never done well in any sort of spotlight and that wasn’t about to change now. “Yeah, we’re big fans,” of SZA, that was, and so Cole was looking forward to her set in particular. Historically, Cole was a classic rock and country fan, but he was willing to deviate from time to time and SZA was a perfect example of that. As Kathryn continued, he just nodded, unable to even pretend that he knew the artist in question– he was old school at best. Snorting a laugh, he nodded, “I can tell,” that she had a crush, even if just slight. “I dunno what that means, but…love that for ya, darlin’.” Pausing in his tracks, he backtracked a bit, grinning wide as he turned towards Kathryn, “Ya look great, by the way,” he complimented, wanting to just build her up after the bomb she’d dropped on him the last time they spoke, “Gimme a spin.”
