→ This toon can toggle between a STOP and GO state — in his STOP state all Twisteds following him gain a Slowness I debuff in exchange for him gaining an Alarming I debuff, while in his GO state he gains a 20% (1⭐) increase in Movement Speed in exchange for a 20% (1⭐) decrease in Stamina.

*Note: "Alarming I" is a theoretical Stealth debuff.

This toon's hands shake too much for precision work due to his intense anxiety so his extraction and skillcheck stats are poor. He functions almost exclusively as a distractor, leading Twisteds around like a line of children behind him on the crosswalk bowing to the rule of his reversible STOP/GO sign.

It's best to use STOP to accumulate Twisteds as inflicting Slowness I on them improves reaction time while exploring the floor during collection, and the reduced Stealth stat granted by Alarming I keeps all eyes on him. GO is best used once Twisteds are already collected and a spot has been chosen for distracting, so the Stealth debuff and Slowness can be dropped in favor of consistent high speed.

Better him than anyone else, as he'd say.

A toon with a serious catastrophizing problem. Though it wasn't explicitly by design, his catastrophizing about why certain rules were in place certainly made his insistence upon them being followed far more convincing. Doesn't exactly do wonders for one's mental health.

Made with a lack of clarity of purpose aside from general safety, Nori was anything the show needed him to be: a crossing guard, a patrol officer, a safety instructor, a security guard, and more. Not unlike Squirm, this lack of clarity in his true identity has made it difficult for him to understand who he is and what role he's meant to play, only knowing that he's meant to enforce rules and, allegedly, keep others safe.

Why would a safety toon be made a no-entry sign? And even calling him that is a bit of a stretch, he's more like... Well, a generalized "no" sign. Perhaps his job was less about ensuring safety than it was about simply maintaining order.

You can't do this, can't do that. Don't go there, don't say that. No, no, no. Lecturing children to stop climbing on Shelly's fossils, putting down wet floor signs in front of Finn's tanks, ushering visitors off the trains — if Sam didn't have a fire extinguisher at the ready in Sprout and Cosmo's kitchen, it would be Nori. He was even forged taller than his show counterpart: he was more easily seen and registered by adults and children alike if he was taller than every other toon.

But it hurts to be a hall monitor. A narc, tasked with reporting on your own peers and ushering them back in line — a friend to no one, apologizing for an infinite debt of guilt.

guy who is so funny ...... toon who would outright argue with Arthur and Delilah bc he's a bit of a passionate sort, Delilah definitely had a bone to pick with Arthur about designing such an uppity individual bc he could be difficult to wrangle

Dr. Hubble belongs to my buddy katoo 😌 happy pride month /stupid — Hubble is a NASA collaboration toon meant to share Astro's floor and teach children about the space exhibits, closing that odd gap between Astro's own theme of dreams and the educational focus of his floor.

Delays in Hubble's episode airing and therefore his toon development due to the exceptionally embarrassing initial launch of his namesake (the Hubble telescope, of course) left Notiker very antsy and fixated on the episode (and toon) stuck in limbo, waiting years for the exclusive "first interview" he was promised. Once the good doctor did finally leave production hell, he ended up being late to his own museum launch due to Notiker's insistence upon pulling him aside to emulate the first interview he was written to have during Dr. Hubble's introductory episode before any human reporters could take photos or statements. Delilah was about to pull her own hair out, but Arthur assured her it was cute and that the waiting public would get a good laugh out of the startling narrative accuracy of the situation.

What if you really are Judas?

noose stained red with the blood of your lord, cloth torn from his discarded mantle, these become your headband and your scarf as an eternal reminder of the penance you seek.

(content warning for my interpretation of Judas below, re: self harm)

My personal imagining is that he was displaced after his betrayal into Lost Hearts Graveyard while in the process of taking his own life from the guilt, as per how his story goes (hanging), before being interrupted during the act and rescued by other New Wirral residents who took him down from the tree that was displaced with him — his headband becoming the rope he used to commit the act, dyed red with the blood of his lord, and his scarf some cloth torn from his mantle.

He lives only because Ianthe has asked him to, and only after a significant amount of time being monitored so he couldn't harm himself. The value she sees in his continued existence confuses him, and the offer for captaincy in her rangers only baffled him further. Why ever, ever trust him? Well, because this is a land of second chances and new identities. He maintains self-imposed exile from Harbourtown because he believes he does not deserve the warmth of the village while he pays his penance through protecting it.

The guilt of betraying the Son of Man over mere currency, especially now that you're in a world where there is no such thing, is suffocating.

Teaching doesn't come easily to him, hence his conversation with Ianthe about leasing recruits — the reminder of the last man he knew to be called 'teacher' is a painful one. It's difficult to take on such a mantle and sometimes Ianthe has to remind him that he's capable of being a good teacher to people, to imparting his skills to them and changing their lives for the better. His negativity weighs on him and, much like Clee-O working through her hatred of humanity with the ranger captain, that negativity and pessimism is what he works through with Ianthe as she reminds him that he is more than just one terrible decision.

POOB AND PEST!!! DESIGNS!!!

im very happy with how these two came out

now i can draw my partybeetle brainrot

screamo music (pest probably has a lot of pent up anger and poob is like YEAAAA SCREAM!!! YELL!!!!)

and slowburn stuff

sticker love language,,, everyday poob gives pest a sticker, or places a sticker onto him in some way

at first, he would immediately take them off, tell poob never to do that again

then he would only take off the stickers when poob wasnt looking

then he would only take off the stickers at home, or in private

then he stopped taking them off, forgot they were even on him, wore them for the rest of the day

and he found himself one day, while standing opposite of poob in the elevator, wondering when poob would give him a sticker

...that long night in poobs apartment. to sit so closely to them, whom was wrapping a clean bandage around his weak arm, placing those same stickers on the bandages as they finished

they spent a little while longer together, placing those stickers on eachother, with awkward giggles and gazing lasting seconds too long

pest would hate being so vulnerable like this

but right now, he doesnt want to leave, to hide away. he's comfortable. he can stay just a little longer.

Just because you invested time and energy into something, does not mean you should indefinitely waste more time and energy on it, if you decide it’s not what you want anymore. This goes for anything, from books, to relationships, to jobs, to hobbies, etc.

If it’s not serving you anymore, move on.

This is honestly one of the places I find Marie Kondo's advice most helpful. I stop, look at the thing I've spent time and money on only to realize I dislike, and I say, "Thank you for teaching me something about myself and my preferences. I think I've learned this particular lesson and we can part ways now."

And then I don't feel like I "wasted" things or made a mistake. I just tried one path of learning about myself, learned something, and now it's time for a different path. Works a lot better for my brain.
