I love my guy friends to death, but being afab around them SUUCCKKSSSS. I’ll ask them about stuff and they’ll tell me about something that is very clearly misogynistic to me, the woke feminist liberal blue hair pronouns haver, but to them, it’s just. Life. They don’t have the baseline experience to understand me, and I don’t have the words to describe it properly. I’ve had the conversation, THREE SEPARATE TIMES MIND YOU, about how the queer feminine experience is underrepresented in media. They never believe me, and just flat out ignore the points I bring up. They’re genuinely kind and thoughtful when it comes to specific people, but trying to get them to sympathize with larger groups is damn near impossible. They’re good people. I love them dearly. I know none of them want to harm basically anyone. I just wish they were more understanding of different paradigms.

Guys what are you supposed when you watch your favorite movie from your childhood and are so excited to see your favorite movie mom ever cus she’s silly but mostly because she’s the only who looks like your mom and when you rewatch it As An Adult™️ you tell your mom about how the character reminds you of her only to realize over the course of the movie that the movie mother you love is meant to be a joke? Like, the butt of almost every joke told when she’s in the scene? And also played by a man? To make her even more of a joke? And you just have to sit there next to your mom whom you love dearly having just called her an ugly man who is the butt of every joke?
