the strange thing about losing your childhood is that the inner child never loses its grip on you
Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the “normal people” as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like “Have a nice day” and “Weather’s awful today, eh?”, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like “Tell me something that makes you cry” or “What do you think deja vu is for?”. Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others…

you think you’re in love and this is the one and this is it. you may be right, but before you move heaven and earth and split the sea down the middle to make it work, take their hand in yours, turn the lights off, turn your computers and phones and the tv off. shut yourself off from the world. is this someone you can sit with in the darkness? is this someone you can sit with in silence? is this someone you can spend hours doing nothing else but counting the distance between lightning and thunder with? because life is more than a forever of picture perfect moments - it’s darkness, and silence and interludes in which you hold your breath. forever should not feel like forever, it should feel like no time at all; it should feel like a blink of an eye; an interlude between the lightning strike and a thunder.
Concept: you’ve been married to your wife for 3 years. You wake up in your bed before she does, your nose cold but your body warm. Careful not to wake her, you get out of bed and your toes curl when your feet hit the cold floor. You brew a pot of coffee and take a cup, making sure to leave enough for her. You pull on a big sweater and walk out onto your deck, sitting in a big wood chair to look out over the forest. The leaves are orange and edged with frost. All is quiet as the sun rises over the trees. You hear the door opening behind you and your wife sits down next to you, wrapping the comforter from your bed around both of you shoulders. You sit there like that until the sun is well up and your coffee cups are empty.
Oh my god. This is it. I want this so badly.
losing a best friend is the worst pain possible. when you lose your best friend, you don’t lose any of the memories or items. you’re stuck remembering every beautiful piece of happiness that friendship gave you. you’re stuck looking at all the pictures on your wall and all the leftover clothes you borrowed but forgot to give back and all the thoughtful little gifts you were given. you can’t even hear certain things anymore without being reminded of all the inside jokes and past conversations. doing certain things or going certain places is nearly impossible because all you can think about is that one special moment you both shared in the past. walking past the person who you once told all your secrets to and shared all your pains with makes you weak and numbs your entire body. simply thinking about the fact that special person is gone makes you nearly throw up. losing your best friend isn’t just painful because they’re gone, it’s because no matter what you do you can never forget about them.

distance and desire don’t mix well
i’ll always encourage the reckless texts confessing your feelings; the kind where you throw your phone after hitting send.
i’ll always encourage the horribly straightforward conversations at 3am when conversations get deep and you can’t always put how you feel into words.
i’ll always encourage you to say the things that make your heart beat fast and your legs shake.
because i know how alive you feel when you feel something for someone else.
i want you. right now. your lips on mine. your hands around my waist. my lips on your neck. my hands running through your hair. heavy breaths. deep stares. i want you. right now. in my bed. right next to me. holding me tight. talking about anything. gentle kisses in between thoughts.

have you ever once in your life been surrounded by your closest friends and simply froze in the deepest realization? the realization that in this moment- with these people you love so dearly- you are entirely at peace. the realization that these people are truly everything you will ever need to experience such a pure form of bliss in life. the realization that you've surrounded yourself with souls of golden vibrations who have filled you and your life with love, generosity, honesty, loyalty, and new adventures with each passing moment. these people sitting directly in front of you at this moment are the greatest blessing you could receive. these people- deafening the air with their shrieks of laughter and constant cheers to the universe for their joyous creation- are sitting right here, right now, overflowing my world with all the beautiful love and positivity one could handle in a lifetime. in these moments i am eternally grateful and filled with love for the people right beside me sharing in my nirvana
