ok, let me try to document this better so #someone# can help me 1) the radio is plugged into a hub, and required me to google the usb-uart driver, and d/l and install the driver manually 1a) is this normal? 1b) where should I get this from? 1b1) what should it's settings be for the ic7100 - hrd 6.2? 2) the audio codec 2a) what should it's settings be in what windows playback, record ctrl-panel? ie: dvd 48k, 44.1k cd settings, etc 3) the radio setting 3) for digital ops, 3)a ssb, or ssb-digital? 3a1) when should I be using ssb-digital? just rtty? for all usb? I know the I'd lose most of my settings by reinstalling the program potentaily again, same with the driver for the usb-uart 4)usb - would it be "better" to use a usb extension cable? 4a) it risks introducing rfi into the digital stream on the usb 4b) could come unplugged 5)program 5a) I might lose the favorites 5a1) so be it, it would fix all configuration issues and stop all this trouble shooting 5a2) don't do it
