he sits at one of the tables with an audible grunt, displeasure quickly settling in onto his features. la grenouille is considered to be one of gabriel’s favorite restaurants in all of new york, not to mention his most notorious date ideas with those interested. however, it didn’t take long for the place to turn into one of his least favorites now–& yes, it’s all due to his “dinner date” he’s being forced to participate in with margot tonight. he’s been trying relentlessly to convince his management to let him out of the contract ever since he found out. fake relationships are normal in this society, but why does he have to be one of those that participated in them ? let alone with someone like his so-called girlfriend at that. inconsiderate & irritating wouldn’t even be the words he’d use to describe her, it wouldn’t be accurate enough to be honest. but apparently with his nervous breakdown causing up quite a storm, along with speculation on his behavior beforehand & what may be the cause of it, they believe he needs this relationship to be somewhat successful. sighing out, gabe nervously taps his fingers along the covered table as he awaits for her arrival. there’s not even a single inkling in his mind on what could possibly occur during this dinner, but for the sake of his sanity he can only hope he’ll be able to make it out alive.

margot would rather be anywhere and with anyone rather than heading towards this restaurant to meet gabe. she doesn’t want to do it, she doesn’t want to fake date for the sake of appearances, but she has to or else she’d be in breach of contract. huh, a contract. never thought she’d use that term in relation to what’s supposed to be a relationships. it’s gross and it makes her stomach churn, but what could she possibly do about it ? at first, margot had fun with it. she liked messing with gabe and keeping up with such an elaborate scheme was silly all on its own, but now ? not so much. if she had it her way, she’d still be in her apartment, binge watching and in her comfy pants, not sitting in the backseat of a vehicle that’s pulling to a halt outside of the restaurant. margot steps out quickly, wanting to get out of the nippy air and ultimately get this ‘date’ over with. she doesn’t want to be here any longer than she has to be. the brunette quickly fixes her face though, plastering on a soft smile to her features while she takes off her coat and is led to the table where gabe’s waiting. she inhales slowly through her nose, and keeping up with the regulations of this stupid thing, she announces her presence by pressing a half kiss against his cheek. ‘ sorry i’m late, ’ she says while moving to take her seat. ‘ i hope i didn’t keep you waiting long. ’
