Hello everyone, i am Isac a transgender now 25 old ,I live in the refugee camp of south sudan called gorom

My journey of being a Refugee started in 2019 ,this is when I made a painful decision to flee my home country Uganda where my sexual orientation made me a target of persecution and discrimination. In search of a safe haven ,I embarked on a journey into the unknown leaving behind everything I held .Little did I know that my path would be filled with unimaginable hardships and struggles

Immediately I flee from my home country, I had to seek for asylum in a neighbouring country called kenya refugee camp called (KAKUMA ), I stayed there for over 5 years waiting for the government of Kenya to help me but it didn't workout ,the government was not ready to give any lgbtiq services and they told us to leave the country

Finally in 2024 i managed to leave kenya refugee camp after a long time of waiting and went to seek for asylum to another country where I now live and this is south sudan refugee camp called , I now live with many lgbtiq refugees in south sudan the camp is big divided into small communities, I now live in a community of over 70 lgbtiq refugees, those who came first are now being resettled to other countries like CANADA where they are now safe I think, the process is slow and UNHCR always advises us to be patient to wait foe our turn to be resettled

Life is the refugee camp is hard ,remember there we live with people who don't want lgbtiq, we face alot of discrimination, hunger is much in the refugee camp, it's hard to get basic necessities because lgbtiq don't work in the camp ,we avoid unnecessary movements because if you try to work you can easily be attacked on the way ,we try to keep low profile as advised which is not easy ,but most of are already identified and fear to move around the camp because we have had many attacked and injured

In recent days I have met a friend here on tumblr living in Canada, he has helped to open a fundraiser that will help us for some time as we are still in the camp not yet resettled, everyone doesn't know the period you will be staying in the camp until resettlement to safe places,

We humbly ask anyone who can help donate on our fundraiser to support us for the time being ,I know one day we shall be resettled to safe places ,everything will gonna be alright soon, suffering is not the end of our lives ,we keep staying strong no matter what the situation it takes , it's along story and I appreciate anyone who is taking his or her time to read this and understand how we are feeling right now ,thanks for your love ,support and solidarity ❤️ 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
