"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Dork. Of course your ma was relieved, you couldn’t shoot your way out of a paper bag."
"Ouch. Not that I think that's a bad thing. I'd rather draw than shoot a gun."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Dork. Of course your ma was relieved, you couldn’t shoot your way out of a paper bag."
"Ouch. Not that I think that's a bad thing. I'd rather draw than shoot a gun."
"Wow, so supportive. I’m overcome with gratitude."
"Hey, art is art, never pass up a chance. But if you wanna be a dancer, go for it. My dad totally got that the soldier agent thing wasn't for me. Hell ma was relieved."
"What’s so 'crazy' about dropping out of the Academy to be a dance instructor?”
"Ooh, can I be there when you tell your mom? I really wanna capture the moment on paper."
"And then the duck says—"
"—WHAT EGGPLANT?!"
Bah dum TSH.
"... I don't get it."
"Regular. They’re for my mom."
"Oh nice. I made my mom a piece for in the living room. She likes abstract."
"Turtles. Why?"
"Because I wanna join in."
"So, Ninja, or regular?"
lessgrumpychen
"Whatcha drawing?"
"So just, FYI, don’t touch anything in Jack MacMurray’s room. Apparently he licks things. A lot."
"Yeah, not surprised. Dude's got like 3 cats. He probably licks himself clean."
"You’re the weirdo." Kira said, shaking her head. "Needed a place to think. The pool is usually good for that."
"Also for swimming," Key nodded, before tilting his head, "You wanna think outloud? I can just be part of the pool." He rested back, wiggling slightly, "pool noodle, and go."
"You are the most oddly shaped pool noodle I’ve ever seen." Kira shrugged. "It’s no big deal. Just me thinking in general."
"That’s why you pay the big bucks for me. Limited edition." He rested his hands under his head, "Yeah? So I don’t have to learn to juggle to cheer you up then? That’s good."
"Sorry, bud, but I wouldn’t pay for you." Kira said, leaning back. "No juggling required. I’m not sad, just…thoughtful."
"Thoughtful's nice." He wiggled his feet a bit in the water, knees bent over the edge, "how's your mom?"

"Oh, please. Like I didn’t hear you coming in those things." Kira looked up and smiled. "Who wears flip flops to a pool?" It took her a minute to realize she had asked that out loud.
Key squinted at her, before sitting. He took one shoe off to swat her on the arm, “People with feet?”
Kira shoved him with her shoulder. “Really? Because,” she lifted her foot and wiggled her toes. “I have those and I’m not wearing any.”
"Because you’re a weirdo. End of story." he shrugged, giving a grin, "So what’s up? Why are we pool skimming today all alone?"

Kira sat at the edge of the pool, briefly dipping her toes in the water before lifting them out again. She had always felt most comfortable around the water and had decided to drop by to calm her mind. What she hadn’t quite figured out was whether or not she was going to actually get in, and that debate was clear on her face.
Key liked to swim. Preferred beaches to pools, but he didn't have a car so the pool was closer. He sauntered up in flip flops and his trunks. Shirt hung over his shoulder, "Hey! Kira. Keep your back turned like that, someone's gonna push you in."
