Band!AU (smth like that)

MSBY as a Pop/Rock/anything you want band & Adlers as an orchestra (yes there're more ppl in that orchestra I just drew only 3 of them)

And Akaashi, as a librarian who sometimes helps his boyfriend with lyrics

There're more small strips and stories about them but I posted them on Twitter long ago and idk if I can post all of them again on Tumblr but I will try

ok. I know in modern orchestral pieces you can get saxophone but for any piece from the non modern (the musical period rather than nowadays) periods in music it won't have saxophone this means basically any music from before the 1900s will not have a saxophone part unless the orchestra plays a rearrangement

and there are so many other instruments that could have been chosen for hoshiumi... why give him one that means he's gonna be sat there doing nothing for so many rehearsals because orchestras still play music from before the 1900s - it's in fact very very common for them to do so, the norm actually

This AU I created from long ago and drew it without many research so there were lots of mistakes from it. I will adjust Hoshiumi's position in the future along with other setting in this AU, maybe a remake for this.

I'm so sorry if my reblog sounded like criticism, it wasn't intended to have that tone (and he's my fave character, so i probably overreacted) but I realise that in retrospect it could come off that way because of my choice of wording it was just me being a bit of a orchestral music geek

sax is a really cool instrument though, and has a really central part in big band and jazz music, which could be worked into an au as being that that was originally his background but then he went to more classical music (trumpet, trombone, double bass and percussion would also fit here as they are common big band and jazz instruments - double bass more so in jazz) - just a suggestion (sorry i get really carried away with aus all the time)

You really don't have to change it since it's your au and as a character saxophone really suits him well (he does seem like someone who would choose a loud instrument which is suited for melodies, such as the sax) thinking about other orchestral instruments, I think the closest one would be trumpet - but again that's just a suggestion

Also props on drawing the sax, it's not an easy instrument to draw

Again it's a really cool au and I really really like it and think it's such an interesting idea , there was just one detail that as someone who's played in orchestra and missed out on certain pieces (baroque pieces (composers such as bach, vivaldi & handel) since the clarinet was invented then and I'm a clarinettist) (and I know from personal experience that it sucks when you don't get a part and just have to sit there and watch everyone else play) which personally I couldn't quite suspend my disbelief on just because of what I know and I just wanted to share it with the ppl who usually see my posts as a learning experience (because I think the history of orchestral music is kind of interesting and wished it was more common knowledge of how music changed as more instruments were invented and the purpose & audience of that music had changed)

I appreciate every comments and opinions from everyone on my AUs so I'm not upset at all! And you have a nice explanations along with example of suitable instruments for Hoshiumi which I'm very appreciated! And it's true that I thought saxophone would be suitable for him based on his personality but it's indeed didn't work well with his orchestral setting

I've planned to adjust this AU from long ago (actually it's only 1 year but compare to amount of my AUs it's one of my first AUs so) but I didn't know what to change so your opinion is pretty useful and I'm thankful for that ❤
