"Yeah." Gabe nodded. "What made you want to come back anyways?"
"I was still living with my parents. And that just wasn't working. I needed a place of my own, but I couldn't just up and go anywhere. I still call Rockhall home, so it seemed like the obvious choice." she explained, before asking "Did you ever end up leaving?"

Gabe kept checking the time on his phone, maybe she was just a hallucination. He was about to give in and order when someone sat down in front of him.
He smiled when Kelley was the one in front of him. “No, it’s okay. I’m just glad that you are here. You are actually here.” He said shaking his head. “I still don’t believe it.”
Kelley smiled softly "To be honest, I'm having a bit of trouble believing it myself sometimes. But I stand by that it was the right decision. There was nothing keeping me out there anymore, you know?"

Gabe walked back to his car, feeling as if he were in a dream. The time went slow the rest of his shift. It had to be a dream, she isn’t coming back. The only way he would know for sure if she were there was at dinner.
Time for dinner came and he went and found a booth at the diner.
She was late, and she knew she was late, which made the lateness even worse. But by the time she got to her new place and got all the papers signed and dropped her things so she could find appropriate date dinner ware, she was going to be late anyway. Then there was the matter of finding the place again...
Gingerly, she stepped into the diner, peaking her head around for any sign of Gabe. When she found the booth he was in, a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders. Walking over and slipping in on the side opposite of him, she immediately apologized "Sorry for getting here so late. Moving back was quite the process."

"No, no problem at all." He grinned. "Hey, I’ll just meet you at the dinner. I have to get back to work."
"Alright." she grinned, not daring to bring up her own traffic violation. "Sounds like a plan. I'll see you later tonight."

"Wait a second." Gabe said furrowing his eyebrows. "Are you here cause you’re moving back?”
"Well yes." she replied, eyeing him curiously "There's not a problem with that, is there?"

"Well where are you staying at? I can come pick you up." He grinned. He still couldn’t believe he was talking to his high school sweetheart.
"I'm somewhere in Searbrooke. I can't quite remember the exact place." she admitted, before pulling out her purse and digging through papers "I'm so the address is in here somewhere. I wrote it down."

"Well I’m sure you will fall right back into place here." He smiled back at her. "Oh I’m good. Just pretty much sticking with my job right now. Speaking of, I need to get back to. Would you want to grab dinner tonight? We can catch up then and I bet you are missing the fine cooking of this place."
Kelley smiled at the offer, nodding, and maybe flushing just a little she replied "I'd like that. Anywhere or anytime I should specifically meet you at?"

"I don’t know I was expecting you to…I don’t know." He chuckled. "I guess you can say I’m pretty busy. But you know Rockhall, it’s a quiet town so not much happens. How are you doing? What are you doing back?"
"I've been well. It was about time I left my parents, and something was pulling me back home." she replied, smiling warmly. "Still haven't got a job lined up but that'll come with time. It's probably better that I take a week or so to settle back in anyway. What about you? How are things? Other than the fancy new job what've you been up to?"

When he grabbed her id, he couldn’t help but smile. He grabbed the ticket and ripped it up. He then leaned against the window. “And what do you think you are doing in this town without calling me?”
Smirking, the blonde replied "It'd been a long time. How was I supposed to know you'd have the same number? And besides, I only got in today." Tilting her head to the side, she commented "Judging by the job I'd say you've been busy since I left."

It was a normal day on patrol, the roads were quiet and little activity was going on. Gabe sat in his cruiser listening to his radio-feed to make sure he wasn’t needed anywhere. Suddenly a car passed quickly by, 12 miles over the speed limits.
He turned his lights on and took after the car. The driver pulled over and he grabbed his ticket pad and made his way slowly to the car. He saw a woman in the window. “Ma’am do you realize what you were doing?” He asked keeping his eyes on the pad as he wrote down information. He looked up at her and something seemed familiar. Could it be? No she moved about 10 years ago.
He thought she looked like his high school sweetheart who moved from Rockhall after graduation. But there was no way she would be coming back. He shook it off and kept looking at her.
Kelley pouted, eyes still cast downwards "I'm pretty sure I was speeding, all things considered. But I didn't think I was that much over." she explained, already grabbing her license and registration.
As she handed it over, it was the first time she ever really caught sight of the police officer. And in that moment she could've swore her eyes were deceiving her. There was no way Gabe Houston was really about to issue her a speeding ticket...was there?
She eyed him carefully, wondering if he'd say anything as he held her ID, which of course, contained her full name. If he was going to let on that he knew who she was, he'd do it now, she's reckoned.

It had been a long time since Kelley Mills had been in Rockhall. Her family had moved years ago, but now she was an adult, making her own life decisions, and of course, everything was bringing her back to the place she called home.
Gripping the steering wheel tightly, she grinned. This was it. This was home. And being back home felt better than the blonde could've ever previously imagined.
Of course, with all the excitement came adrenaline, and with adrenaline, she may have gone an eensy teensy bit over the speed limit. But this was Rockhall! Who cared, right?
...Wrong. Very wrong. Cursing silently under her breath, she bowed her head and waited for the police officer to to make their way over, her window already rolled down.
