When you are on your path of life, and in your way there is an evil serpent, seeking to ruin your life and cast you into chaos and ruin, what do you do?
You grab that motherfucker by the neck and play jump rope.
Just for fun little Set drawing. I needed to motivate myself and this helped. You want the drawing you can have it for 20$.
Hi! I was wondering, do you have any good ways to figure out what deity best fits you? I want to start working with deities bit don't how to start or who to start with.
Hi there!
Basically your first goal should be to figure out what kind of deity you want to work with. Love, War, Death, etc. You can pretty much just google these things with a phrase such as “deities who represent confidence” and you’ll get key words like “empowerment” and “esteem” and deities that have archetypes that fit into that specific idea. Start there, and you can narrow down your search by what other ideas those particular deities represent and if you feel comfortable with what they reign over in general.
Keep in mind that google is not good at filtering deities by culture unless you specifically type in “Greek gods that represent ______”, so you’ll need to be actively making sure you aren’t picking from cultures that are not open to you.
Generally the most common pantheons that are open to anyone are Kemetic (Egyptian), Greek (Hellenic) or Norse (Heathenry). There are of course many others that hail from Britain and/or Europe, but some still are closed so just do some preliminary research.
Other less-mundane ways to research and explore would include meditation, guided meditation, divination and really just putting out an offering and inviting a deity forward that would like to work with you. You can always deny these kinds of requests, but it seems fairly common that when you become interested in a specific deity, they in turn become interested in you. Look at your surroundings or messages that seem to come to you often enough to be noticeable. What do they say? Research what deity may represent those messages. Keep a dream journal and see if there are re-occurring themes or messages. Ask deity to come to you in a dream.
There are so many ways to go about finding which deities would be best suited to you.
Some blogs you may find helpful or could possible answer questions
Norse Paganism - @thewitchofthenorse
Hellenic - @seafoambeauty @whichwitchami @persephoneandthepomegranates
Kemetic - @kemetichaote
Gaelic Polytheism - @nicstoirm
Insert shameless plug - I offer a Deity Identification reading in my store (Death’s Head Divination) though the shop will not be open again until mid-August because of work and vacation. I also have slight experience with Norse Mythology and Hellenic.
I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the mention! I have been inactive but I'm still happy and proud that I stood out.
There is time for wisdom, deed, and possibility. There is yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Though we pass quickly, the earth and heavens remain. Let us make something useful with our hands. Though time forgets us, let it not forget our passing. Grant that today we may do work that matters.

On Fae and Spirit work. (A master post)
In my perspective, as well as experience, Fae (I can only speak of those in North America and Central America) are spirits. As such, it is not likely you’ll ever see them physically manifest. Like other spirits, (Ancestors, Angels, Demons, Djinn, plant spirits, etc.) Fae exist within a hierarchy of both age and size, which generally go hand-in-hand. In fact, there is a hierarchy that is recognized by all spirits. (When I say “size” I am referring to how powerful they are, not how tall they are.) -SJW warning: Things within this post are 70% learned from direct experience, 25% taught to me by a practitioner of Curanderismo, & 5% book/internet research.
Dealings with Fea:
If you must, despite the warnings from the community, seek out a Fae, you should know a few things:
1- Where to find them. 2- How to locate one within that place and convince them to commune with you. 3- Ways you can protect yourself and others around you. 4- How to “befriend” one. 5- How to close communion. A few useful things to have on you: fresh mint, fresh lavender, really any common flowering plant in your region (All must be harvested respectfully because the Fae will feel it.) As well as buttons (the older- the better), red wine, moon water, and/or a small potted plant (if dealing with a Fae within a building)
Without knowing at least a few of these things, I surely would have been subject to all kinds of spiritual, physical and mental torture/harassment. #1: Where to find Fae Fae do not necessarily reside in woodlands, deserts, swamps, mountains, forests, or lakes (etc). They can and do live in cities, suburbs and places like Walmart. However, places like Walmart aren’t very attractive to them, and they will likely only live there temporarily. Fae like to be left alone, like most spirits. They will always nestle into a place that is secluded and rather quiet. The more foliage, the better because Fae do prefer more natural areas. They only exist out of nature due to urbanization. It’s actually really sad. If you find a Fae within a building, PLEASE be careful. They will likely not be too friendly. So, think of a place that is near you, where there is little human traffic that has at least some foliage. Then, once you have communed with a few Fae (That are in a more preferred habitat), and think that you could handle it, look in the dark secluded places in buildings. #2: How to locate and speak to a Fae if they reside in that area You will need your intuition here- in fact, you will be relying on it nearly wholly. If in forests, mountains, and woodlands: they will likely be found near groves of old trees, running water, large boulders (That are covered in moss AND fungus), on mounds with flowers, secluded clearings in trees, and small caves. In deserts: secluded caves, atop mesas, near water, oases, and around clusters of larger plants. In swamps: Near the oldest tree in the area, running water, large rocks that are being devoured by moss and mud, in tree branches, as well as nearly all over the place. In plains/prairie: You will only find younger and/or smaller Fae. They will be clinging to the base of the grasses, hiding under yucca, near cacti, resting near wildflowers. In buildings: They will be found in dark corridors, abandoned buildings, attics, storage rooms that are barely used, the roof, and elevator shafts/empty stairwells. Once you think you’ve found one, lay out an offering without looking directly at them. It is always best to look directly at the ground. Once the offering is set, bow your head to the ground- touching your forehead. Then speak aloud the reasoning for leaving that specific offering, while being as respectful and genuine as possible. Then give an offering of energy. (Before doing this, be sure to have protection [see #3]) This energy needs to be appropriate for the vibe of the Fae. Then, begin to speak aloud to them. Tell them about yourself, and your craft. You must be completely honest. Lying to a Fae can result in their anger. Ask if they are comfortable speaking to you. If they aren’t you’ll feel it. If this happens, bow again and stand and leave respectfully. Be sure to give a blessing to their home as you are leaving it. #3: How you can protect yourself and those around you Objects you can carry that will help prevent them from: Following you [F], Leeching energy from you [L], Cursing you [C], Messing with your Psyche [P]. {”-” before a symbol means that it makes it easier, rather than preventing.) -Iron (Nail, bar, wire, ball, key, etc.) [L] -Tiger’s Eye [P] -A feather [F] -Fresh Romero [L] [P] -Copper [P] [-L] -Rutilated Quartz [C] [P] -Amethyst [L] -Obsidian [C] [L] -Turquoise [F] [P] - Shungite [-L] [P] [C] -Fresh Ecineccea flower [L] [C] [F] -Salt [F] [L] [C] -Sigils drawn on flesh or paper (potentially [F] [L] [C] [P] [-F] [-L] [-C] [-P]) There are a few energetic way to protect yourself as well. Creating a shell of neutral reflective energy around you, building and maintaining a flame in your heart energy center, astral weapons/shields, tulpas/servitors/thought-forms, and blessings. Be sure to ALWAYS salt all thresholds in your home before leaving to commune with Fae. Brick dust, iron shavings, and Pipestone dust can be used in place of salt. Also, NEVER underestimate the power of respect, intuition, and understanding. #4: How to “Befriend” a Fae I use the term “befriend” very loosely, hence the quotation marks. It’s more like a trade deal. This can happen once they feel comfortable speaking to you, and you can then make a request- but not without compensation. If a request is made without compensation, they will likely take something of their own choosing. For example, I met a really old Fae that recently migrated to a conservation area near me. (by recently I mean within the last 100 years, which is like a week or two to her.) Once she was comfortable speaking to me, I asked her for guidance and assistance in my craft- as well as to join my circle of spirits in the direction of the North. In return I offered to ward her home- to this, she scoffed. Instead, all she asked for in return was my faith in her and her home- as well as to never mention her name around or to any other humans. (I can’t even write it in my Grimoire- I checked) #5: How to close a communion with a Fae If a Fae is gracious enough to commune with you, you should always end with a statement of honest gratitude. Ways to physically show gratitude and respect could be as follows: -placing your forehead on the ground -kissing the ground -manifest your aura as butterflies or another flying creature depending on the vibe of the Fae. -Bow after standing up (If you were previously sitting) -Bow before leaving. -Facing towards the center of their home, as you are leaving, and placing your forehead on the center (Try, if you are able, to face south when doing this) -Leave a second offering. -Draw a sigil of gratitude in the air with your energy. There are some Fae you should strive to avoid! -Faeries (Not Fairies): They will blatantly lie to you and will almost always be insulted and/or disgusted at your presence. -Fae that feel palpably angry- most likely found in abandoned buildings. -Fae that live in a lone tree. -Fae that live in poisonous/toxic plants -There are a few more- but your gut will honestly be your best tool. IF YOU CAN HELP A FAE THAT HAS HAD ITS HOME RIPPED AWAY FROM IT DUE TO URBANIZATION- DO IT. WITH ITS PERMISSION, HELP FIND IT A NEW HOME- AND BE SURE TO GET THE PERMISSION OF THE FAE THAT LIVE IN THE NEW LOCATION AS WELL.
Faerie Sight
How to see faeries:
Wearing one’s coat inside out.
Wearing a posy of primroses.
A four leaf clover crushed and put into an ointment may give one sight of the Faeries as well as placing Faerie Ointment on the eyelids.
Bending over and looking backwards through your legs.
Looking through a Fir knot hole.
Looking through a loop made with a Rowan twig may cause Faerie sight.
Looking through a hag stone.
Meditating on a daily basis.
Averting one’s vision.
Dawn, moon, dusk, and midnight are the best times for faerie sightings.
Believe - faeries will most likely not show themselves to non-believers.
Have good intention - faeries can sense it.
Looking for a long time without blinking.
wearing ones coat inside out doesn’t allow you to see them, it prevents them from seeing you.
id also just like to remind anyone who sees this that the good men of the hills can be extremely dangerous, and you shouldn’t just go seeking them out willy nilly. be careful.
before looking for them, make sure you have wards protecting your home. make a witch’s bottle if you feel so inclined. some good wards are sweetgum balls/witch burrs dipped in red wax and nailed above a front door, an iron nail dipped in angelica oil and nailed into a door you want to keep spirits out of, a witch’s ladder with ribs and feathers woven in and a bag of protective herbs at the end, salt on windowsills, and red string rowan charms around where you sleep.
always carry some iron and/or salt in a black bag (so they can’t sense the energy from it), so you can open the bag and throw some at them if you need to. once you’ve revealed that you have it, there’s no turning back. if they see it, you must use it before they can attack you. once they’re dispersed, flip your coat inside out (see above) and get back to your warded house as quickly as possible. don’t take any unfamiliar routes and if you hear anyone saying your name DO NOT turn around. just keep running/walking briskly until you’re safe inside. cover up the mirrors in your house at night.
keep calendula/marigold powder (same plant) in a different bag. it diffuses any evil magic done in its vicinity and fosters positive energy.
in addition to all this, if you’re planning on making contact, bring gifts! dont let them know you have “weapons.” give them cream, or pastries, or jewellery. try to foster good relations before immediately using the charms you’ve brought with you.
It's my birthday :)
Witch Tip #7 - Cloves Hack
When I was in the 3rd grade, my class read “Little House in the Big Woods” by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Once we finished, we had a Laura Ingalls Wilder day where we dressed up as her and acted her daily life. I remember making corn husk dolls and eating vension soup (yuck 🤢). One hack I learned from that day was how to make a clove apple (aka an apple pomander).
First you grab an apple and some cloves. Make sure your cloves have the ends jutting out from them. Then you start poking the cloves into the apple. You can make them form a heart or make rows or whatever else you might want to do. Once you’re done, you can stick up on a shelf and let it’s enticing scent fill the air.
Generally, I keep the apple until it begins to rot and deflate (3-4 months after making it).

Recently, I came across a post warning against storing your herbs in glass jars. “They will mold,” it claimed. I reblogged it, with my owns comments on the subject, explaining to others that simply is not the case.
If you have done the homework on the plants you are gathering, learned how each plant needs to be dried, and followed the proper steps, storing your herbs in glass jars will not make them mold.
*Herbs in the store can be purchased in glass jars.*
*Herbs have been stored in glass jars for hundreds of years.*
This is a small sample of my larder, all my herbs are carefully air-dried, and stored in glass jars. (Some are in plastic bags, as I ran out of jars!) None have ever molded.
My point is, don’t believe every post you come across, but read up on the subject, and educate yourself well. It’s disappointing to see misinformation being passed around as fact, when in truth, it is not.
Some leaves and flowers will need to be air-dried for 3-5 days.
Some leaves and plants need to be dried for 7-14 days.
Some flowers, (like lilacs) along with any member of the pine/evergreen family will require 3 weeks or more to dry.
Some plants with stems attached may need to be dried for 14-21 days, maybe even longer.
Air-drying maintains the colour, as well as essential oils/benefits of the plants the best, where oven drying can reduce them, and turns the plants brown.
Oven dry fruits like berries, at a very low setting (150°C-200°C) for anywhere from 2-4 hours, checking in between to see if they have completely dried yet. Since oven temps vary, you may have to tweek your drying times.
Do extensive reading on plants and drying/storing. You’ll have a far more rewarding and successful results!

Personalized Witchcraft: Give Yourself Correspondences
Some people have animal spirits, fylgja, and other similar manifestations of their self, consciousness, spirit, and so on. But what about plants? Stones? Incense? Colors?
Give yourself your own correspondences. In a similar manner that certain spirits or deities are attracted to certain stones or get their energy from certain colors and methods, you too may have a correspondence for your self.
Experiment. See which stones or incense give you power, really draw you into yourself and help you know yourself. Maybe clear quartz helps you in any given situation, maybe amethyst helps you draw power from within, but what if citrine a type of quartz and pretty much (but still different from) amethyst i what helps you draw everything from yourself the best? Sure different stones can do different tasks, but what really helps you be you and draws your own power.
You Know Yourself Best. What stones, plants, items, and so on are you drawn to the most? What appeals to you the greatest? If you’re just naturally drawn to Jet and use it to store all your energy or use it in all your spells, maybe that’s your personal stone. Maybe you;re naturally drawn to Patchouli, instead of Rosemary or Sage because it works best for you in your personal practice.
What color defines your practice? Yourself? What you do?
Everyone has different correspondences for any given item. Some people use Blue for calm and serenity and balance, some people use it to absorb sadness, others use it to curse sadness and despair. Each color, like every stone and scent and other can be used, but what really speaks to you? Of course you can have more than one color, stone, some people even have multiple animal manifestations for different occasions. You can have more than one color to yourself, more than one stone, incense or oil, and other.
Spirits and Deities and other such entities have multiple correspondences. take Norse Loki, for example. He is called a Hawk, a Spider, a Snake, a Salmon, and more, and our personal associations with Loki, those of us who work with or worship him, may have different but often multiple scents, tastes, stones, and others we associate with him.
You do not have to work with a god or spirit, of course, but I use the example as a way to help understand. Spirits and Deities have multiple correspondences, and so may we.
What boosts your energy? What helps you define yourself? What helps you manifest your powers the greatest? Experiment as best you can. You know yourself best. Everyone has different opinions and ideas for what does what for them.
Things to make personal correspondences for:
Animals
Stones

Plants
Teas, Foods, Drinks, Etc
Incense & Oils
Planets & Astrology
Numbers
Miscellany Personal Items (bones, feathers, coins, etc)

Tips for Hexing & Cursing
Anything Hot, Spicy, or Sour can inflict physical pain, heat, agitation, or “sourness” to the individual.
Anything you normally use for divination, dreams, or astral can be used for Illusions, Delusions, & Nightmares
Anything you use for spirit work can be used to send unhappiness, restlessness, or spirits to someone
