With everything that's been going on so far this year and May in particular (which always seems to be the month of sad news in my family), I wanted to take a minute to remember a friend of mine that passed two years ago this week. Nick Trujillo (pictured far left) was someone I always enjoyed being around, whether it was rehearsing in his band I spent some time in, or just talking about other things we had mutual interest in; USC football, Lakers, shoes, metal, etc. We also had a unique commonality, as we each grew up with a cousin with whom we had a musical relationship as well as a lifelong friendship. He will continue to be missed, not only as one of the best young drummers I'd ever been fortunate enough to play with, but as an all around great guy as well.
