At a concert on Friday in Sydney, Australia, the acclaimed rapper called out a pair of fans for not standing up at the show. One had a prosthetic limb, and the other was in a wheelchair.

I don't even know how to respond to this. Not only did he chastise disabled fans for not standing up but he then made them prove they were actually disabled in front of thousands of people. Incredible. I didn't like Kanye before I really don't like him now.

Can we please just stop saying “special needs” when we mean “accommodations that level the playing field so disabled peeps can get their shit done”? I don’t have special needs. I have reasonable needs. I don’t need you to make school and work easy for me. I don’t need easier tasks. I need to be provided with the tools to make tasks doable. That’s not “special.”

I hate when people say “overcome” a disability or chronic illness. You don’t overcome something you will have the rest of your life, you learn to live with it and adjust around it.

Well Done

There are so many people  who have lost loved ones in the last few months[myself included] its horrible to think about. One thing I know without a shadow of a doubt though that I hope is a comfort to others as it me, is that everyone of them has been met by their creator and the words "Well done my good and faithful servant". I pray with all my being that when my days on earth are done I am able to hear those words just like they have. My amazingly talented friend Phil has a beautiful song[in the link] about hearing the Lord utter those words.

Note to self,Keep all subjects of strong opinion to Tublr. Some people just don't understand how to have a healthy debate. Just because I have a differing opinion doesn't mean it calls for personal attack. I also find it sad that those who consider themselves Christians are some f the first ones who come in with the personal attacks in a debate as well. That's not how my Jesus lived.

Activist blogger LatentExistence (Steven Sumpter) has made an excellent new film about the problems of travelling in his powerchair. Showing the dangers and difficulties of bad pavements and other road hazards especially on rural routes. The lack of alternatives and accessible transport available.

This breaks my heart. Millions of children and their perspective forever families  are being used as a pawn, in a political argument that they have nothing to do with. I'm praying this ban doesn't go through in the Russian upper house. The well being of children should never play second fiddle to petty political tactics of adults.

Shoe "shopping"

So those of you with SB/clubfoot issues will understand my frustration when I say I tried to go shoe shopping today. If you're like me you have super small,wide,fat feet which makes it almost impossible to find shoes of any kind, let alone a spacific type. Since becoming a fulltime chair user and being told I look like i'm 14 way more times then I care to remember I've gone the "hey I can get them on my foot and they don't fall off or have  hello kitty on them. who cares if they give me support" route. Today however I set out to find a good pair of tennis shoes that fit properly,had ankle support and didn't make my feet swell. After 3hrs and every shoe store they have in the mall I left with nothin'. So heres my question for those with SB/clubfoot what shoes have you found that work for you? I found one pair that would have worked if it had been wider but apparently they don't make Nike's in a wide width.

Sudden spells of vomiting in the middle of the night are one part of SB i really hate. I wish I were in Atl where I could find a doc that knew what he was doing,And find out why i'm vomiting all the time.
