“‘How much do you know about Shakespeare,’ I once asked a friend who has committed much of her life to studying the Bard. She replied, ‘Not as much as he knows about me.’ Remember this the next time someone tells you literature is useless.”

The 18m long sculpture is comprised of a twisting aluminium framework, wrapped in layers of custom dyed fabric in colours inspired by ceremonial robes.
Sanjo Hokusei Community Center
From the architects Yasunari Tsukada design:
Sanjo-cho is a densely-built old residential area in Takamatsu City, Kagawa. Our project was to make a “meeting place” for local residents to get together. The site within the built-up town is surrounded by a number of alleys. What we tried to do was to create the center in the town, relevant to these alleys and houses.
We divided the community center into a “meeting room” and “other functions” so that we have a community center that looks like two small houses next to each other, in stead of having one big building that would stand out too much. By separating, we were able to downsize each building and harmonize the buildings with their surroundings.

Rehabilitation of a Country House in Empordà
Arquitectura-G designed this intervention in a country house in Girona. The architects removed secondary stone walls and introduced a new steel structure to open up the circulation and allow more natural light and ventilation. Other aspects of the intervention include new doors and window frames, built-in furniture and the implementation of a color scheme that differentiates the existing from the new parts of the structure.
photosandteapleasee
A small sampling of the images you will find on the tumblr photosandteapleasee from an Argentinian amateur photographer that I saw featured on lensblr-network today.
From the artist:
My name is Julia, and I’m an amateur photographer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I take photos as a hobby, and most of the photos I post are from different trips. I’m mostly inspired by architecture, sunsets and people. I like to shoot landscapes, sunsets, streets, cityscapes and sunsets. Personally I think photography is an art because you can speak and tell a story through a photo, and also you can share your point of view through photography.
