"𝐈𝐟 𝐈 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚…𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥?" -𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 Julie Newmar's fabulously over the top performance as Catwoman in moments from the classic Batman TV series (ABC, 1966-1968). Newmar portrayed Catwoman in thirteen episodes during seasons one and two of the show; Eartha Kitt memorably assumed the role in season three when Julie became unavailable due to a scheduling conflict while she was filming the movie Mackenna's Gold (though Newmar and Kitt both played-up the camp aspects of the character, Julie's version was comical and flirtatious where Eartha's was more serious and fierce). Also seen are Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, singer Lesley Gore as Pussycat, and former nude physique model (and winner of the "Mr. Armed Forces'' title in Hawaii in 1955) Paul Mantee (real name: Paul Marianetti) as Catwoman's henchman Cornell in disguise as a noticeably more (*cough*) "meaty" Batman (note in the two gifs showing Paul that the bat insignia on his Bat-Belt is upside down). Fun Fact: Adam West and Paul Mantee previously co-starred in the 1964 science-fiction movie Robinson Crusoe on Mars, with Paul in the starring role and West as a supporting character with only a few minutes of screen time. Though Mantee had a long and prolific career in films and television, he never reached the iconic star status that Adam attained via Batman.
