There are many variations of vampires from around the world. There are Asian vampires, such as the Chinese jiangshi, evil spirits that attack people and drain their life energy; the blood-drinking Wrathful Deities that appear in the "Tibetan Book of the Dead," and many others.

Finding a vampire is not always easy: according to one Romanian legend you'll need a 7-year-old boy and a white horse. The boy should be dressed in white, placed upon the horse, and the pair set loose in a graveyard at midday. Watch the horse wander around, and whichever grave is nearest the horse when it finally stops is a vampire's grave â or it might just have something edible nearby; take your pick.

If he were still a fledgeling, Kevin wouldâve shamelessly emptied the squirrels of their blood. But that was years ago and there were plenty of blood bags with a heart readily available for him now.
âD'you want to cut âem up here or do you have a garden of dead squirrels somewhere else?â The vampire fished for a small knife in his pocketâ remnants from when he still needed something handy to aid him incase he got in troubleâ and he began playing with it, folding it back and flicking it around as he waited for her.
Trix easily locates the other two squirrels, dumping the one in her hand onto the ground beside its friends. She feels around inside her bag for her knife and squats down in front of the rodents to begin working. At the sound of his question, Trix glances over her shoulder at Kevin, not feeling much of anything besides impatience.
âHereâs fine,â she shrugs. She nods toward the squirrels in his hands. âYou wanna do those, or should I?â
"You do it," answered the vampire as he approached her to hand over the dead animals, "I just wanna see 'em hanging like Christmas decors."
Kevin put the knife away as he waited for Trix to begin disemboweling the squirrels. He was looming over her from behind, not really bothering to squat beside her as she did her thing.

Kevin snorted ar Gloriaâs humorous response, nodding his head in agreement that it did sort of pushed his other senses to work more.
âI might as well just put a blindfold and depend on my other senses while Iâm with you,â the vampire chuckled as he thought of actually doing it before realizing that they were nowhere near students to watch. âAre you in the mood for watching or do you wanna go do something else with me?â
âGreat! While weâre at it I could teach you to read Braille,â she suggested, only half-joking. She could. She had some books back at her cabin.
But there were more interesting things to do. Gloria perked up at his other ideas. It would probably be more fun to observe people if there was someone with her, to listen to her sarcastic comments. âI could go for that, unless you had anything better in mind?â
âThe fire pit should be filled with kids right now, we can watch from atop a tree so we donât get noticed,â suggested the boy.
He then reached out and with his hands, the boy felt for her form. He could feel her clothes and how she seem to have spikes. âWeâre a bit far from the pit,â finding her waist he pulled the girl close to him, âItâll be faster if you hang on to me.â

Some things are created bad.
Kevin mulled over her response, as an imaginary pain coursed through him from her statement. He wanted to respond, tell her that if the worms were created that way and knew no other means to live and survive, who had the right to determine if it was evil and have them destroyed just like that? Granted, having blind kids roam around was a bummer.
Realizing that he was not fully prepared to invest in a potentially emotionally draining exchange with Lauren, Kevin merely nodded before continuing to walk again. Though trees still surrounded them, they were almost near the cafeteria, he could sense the warm bodies moving about and the array of food available.
âKids are still eating in the messhall, you can go and find weird kids to befriend there, I guess⌠and thatâs where we part ways.â
Lauren had started biting her lip, the other words she wanted to say bubbling on the tip of her tongue, but the vampire hadnât even replied to what sheâd already said. That made her anxious; most soups fought back and defended each other. He stayed quiet with one nod and that made her think sheâd said something wrong. But she did only said what she thought was trueâŚ.
They were getting closer, Lauren could tell by the familiar trees she would pick out on her way to eat. Like the funny bent one or the short stump that was cut around a year ago. She was almost about to reach the one that looked like itâd been blasted by a fireball, when Kevin spoke.Â
âWeâre still a little ways.â She replied, looking up at him through squinted eyes, then was hit with realization. âYouâre embarrassed to be seen with me.â She smiled at him and shook her head then began to walk in the direction of the mess hall. âAlrighty. See you later, Kev.â

Kevin opened his mouth to respond but the hunter was already saying her goodbye. He pursed his lips as he watched Lauren disappear, making her way towards the messhall ahead of him.
âAlways with the cool guy walk away, that one.â he muttered. Still, it was better to be by himself he thought; she was still a hunter by profession.
The vampire made his way to the infirmary, a feather twirling between his fingers as he recalled of the brunette with the goofy grin and a penchant for action figures.

âItâs therapeutic to say the least, which is why I find it very tricky to watch someone I canât see,â and he turned to the general direction of where her face was supposed to be and smirked.
âYeah, you can call it thatâŚâ Gloria personally found the activity to be more of a learning experience than a therapeutic one. Two years of being surrounded by them and there were still things she didnât understand about visibles.
âWell, hey, at least you can smell me, right?â she joked. âThink of it as a good chance to give your eyes a break.â

He sensed some movement and her body heat allowed him to know that she was just close by, âSo what do invisible girls do for fun around hereâŚ?â
âPeople-watch, mostly,â she answered, expecting the boring truth to disappoint. âThereâs not much to do outside of camp activities anyway.â
