"Don’t make me laugh!" This was my response to my brother, Matt, after cracking a joke giving my side a little pain. This was a biopsy to determine what this growing mass was in my chest based off of my most recent CT scan checkup. Needless to say, it was pretty painful. The small scar is where the chest tube was inserted and wasn’t taken out till the night of my surgery…that sucker was the most painful. And annoying. It feels like a dog with a toddler on its back is sitting on you for an entire day. Breathing becomes just terrifying enough to make you forget why you’re there in the first place. Small lung capacity caused my sister to help me through breathing exercises while the chest tube was still in, lamaze style, to which she almost passed out. But that’s ok :) This pain in my chest won’t outweigh the happiness my family brings me…Matt's response: "Eh, don’t worry, laughing is good for the soul."
