precisely. also, another layer to it is that poets of these languages (urdu, farsi, arabic, turkish, etc) often are influenced by their theological beliefs - so ‘time’ doesnt really exist and all events are happening at once, meaning the day of judgement isnt *going to* take place, rather *is* taking place. think of it as the divine perspective. the holy book follows the same pattern (ref 39:71)

when that’s how you view things, playing w ‘time’ and tenses only adds poetic flavor

and yeah linguistically, referring to future events by using الفعل الماضي / فعل ماضی (past tense) is to emphasize the certainty of future events, like you mentioned
