Douglasville 1.1 - Arizona neighborhood with pulp storyline for The Sims 2!
Douglasville is a TS2 almost-cc-free neighborhood based on the Spanish videogame Runaway: A Road Adventure.
This neighborhood is set in the fictional region of the Simrizona Desert and it features: beautiful canyon landscapes, a colorful bunch of characters with unique stories and personalities, a treasure hunt, lots inspired by Mexican and Western false front architecture!
Info and download under the cut
Douglasville allows players to let their creativity loose as they decide the paths of the strange characters who inhabit this land: you will have to make choices, pick a side and let the other sink in this greedy treasure hunt who will probably end up in a few casualties. This neighborhood can be a great start for a Build a City Challenge with a few adjustments, or you can keep Douglasville as it is: a small, dilapidated ghost town for the lonely wolves. Speaking of wolves, be careful because you will find a pack of mexican wolves hunting around the area! The main features of Douglasville are:
◉ A desertic neighborhood decorated with the amazingly beautiful Canyon Pack by Kridershot. Enjoy these ARIZONA-INSPIRED LANDSCAPES, if you can fight the heat and the hungry wolves!
◉ 7 HOUSEHOLDS + 2 SIMS IN THE BIN, all characterized by unique backgrounds and, sometimes, featuring storytelling props in their inventories to help you get involved with their stories.
◉ A TREASURE HUNT! The terrible thugs Gustav and Feodor are searching for the Hopi treasure and they have reason to believe Gina Timmins knows something about it. Who will get their greedy hands on the treasure first?
◉ Lots were built in MEXICAN AND WESTERN-FALSE-FRONT STYLES to correctly convey the atmosphere of the United States' South West area. The hood features ONE STARTER HOME to help you include your own sims in the run for the treasure!
Before downloading, I need to give you some warnings:
⚠ This neighborhood includes references to an existing indigenous tribe from North America: the Hopi Tribe. This is directly taken from the videogame Runaway and it's something I decided to keep. I am not Hopi, so my knowledge is limited, and I did what I could with no custom content. It's important for me to specify that I don't want this neighborhood to disrespect native American tribes in any way.
⚠ There are three drag queens living in Douglasville. To keep custom content to a minimum, I decided to create them as women and change their gender behaviour through SimPE (they have male voices, will pee standing and sexually reproduce as men). If you want to be more realistic, you can change their gender to male and dress them up with custom clothes.
⚠ You need a CAMERA MOD. The neighborhood is big and there are lots on the borders of the map, so without a camera mod you would not be able to play the hood as intended.
Below you will find two download links:
“DGVL” is the neighborhood folder and it must be extracted in Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Neighborhoods.
“Douglasville_CC” is the folder containing a small amount of CC required for the neighborhood to appear as intended. It must be extracted in Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads. Everything has been sorted in labelled folders to help you organize your cc.

(Don't get scared by the CC Folder size: it's mainly due to the skyline, skydome and canyon pack. Remember to delete custom content that you already have!)
List of Custom Content:
Moocha's Build-A-Bus Kit, Slig's Graffiti, PrincessBliss' native american rug recolors, C&K's oil lamps, TonyVeis' 4t2 Strangerville plane, TNWS's 3t2 rocking chair, chest and curtains from TS2 Store, MommaLisa outfits by MoniLisa, keoni and Slig, historical clothes by Skellington, YanderePlum and SerenityFall, Saturn's hair by Hazelpuff, neighborhood deco by Kridershot and probably leoz94 (I'm not sure!), desert skyline by greatcheesecakepersona, skydome by Lowedeus.

The storytelling picture where Gina is running from Gustav and Feodor is set in Katatty's Downtown! Also, thanks to every single person who commented, reblogged, liked and followed this project over these weeks! I am extremely eager to see what you all do with this neighborhood, so feel free to provide feedback or tag me if you share gameplay pictures :) Hugs from Italy!
Tired of using cheats to get objects/Sims/Pets to be placed where you want them to be? Tired of doors and windows freaking out when an object is placed in front of them? This mod alleviates a good portion of those issues. More info after the cut.
Here’s something I couldn’t upload in time for the previous @gardenofshadowssims bimonthly theme. I understand this might be pointless to most, but hopefully I’m not the only one who appreciates having their cc properly decustomized and organized, without that ugly cc-star.
That’s why I’m sharing my edit of the lovely necklaces that NichelleRJ extracted from Maxis outfits and pinned each one of them to their respective EP/SP. You can see some pics with lovely Maxis ladies wearing them and how neat the necklaces will look in CAS below the cut.
Today the new life simulation videogame by Paradox will be shown. I don't know the details on what they're gonna show: is it going to be a trailer, or (I hope) actual gameplay. I'm really eager to see what the Paradox team has worked on, as Rod Humble is part of the development team and he was a part of the TS2 and TS3 teams. I have high expectations for this game, I love The Sims 2 and I've been playing it since I was 7 years old (I'm currently 24), but I would like to experience something fresh that can please my taste. I've continued playing the second installment of the The Sims franchise because The Sims 3 and 4 both have flaws that ruin the experience for me, even though I like aspects of both of them: I hate not being able to create custom worlds in The Sims 4 and I also think it's too easy and family-friendly, it doesn't have interesting stories and drama among households like its predecessors so I have a hard time getting invested in the premades; The Sims 3, on the other hand, is a game that I enjoy and I've played a lot, but ultimately I didn't transition from TS2 to TS3 because I hate when sims stand idling with their eyes looking empty between actions, they seem robotic... somehow TS2 is more immersive to me than TS3 even though the latter was published almost 10 years later.
We are in 2023, TS2 is 19 years old and even though I still love this game so much, its age shows when it comes to technical features that were greatly improved in its successors, for example TS4 easily beats TS2 in the house building aspect (if you want to move a wall in TS2 by one tile, you have to demolish it and rebuild it from the start while in TS4 you can simply drag it and, as a lot builder, this feature saves so much time). I hope Life by You can be a worthy opponent to The Sims franchise... Everything depends on today's reveal.
If the marketing team at Paradox is smart, they should know that they can pull so many players from TS2 and TS3 instead of trying to copy TS4. I hope Life By You is mature, dramatic and introspective, with a focus on character depth. It's a life simulator and life is full of darkness, contradictions, fear and doubt. Let's see what they'll show us! 💖
Hi everyone! Just wanted to update anyone who's following the development of Nissos Simonos! I've had zero time to play in these days because I've just moved in a new home and, sadly, there is no Build Mode in real life to instantly paint walls and tiles 🤣 between working and moving in the new house I've been very busy.
I'm very eager to finish Nissos Simonos, I love it as a project, we've never had custom vacation destinations that stray from the traditional tropical - mountainous - east Asian formula, atleast that I'm aware of; also I want to work on other projects, like Pleasantfort, and I want to play the two neighborhoods that I have ultimated (Rolands Town and Douglasville). I hope to get Nissos Simonos done in the next months!

The Revamp of WHoward69′s menu boards has been revamped once more, with another functional object added. Your Sims can now have takeaway in their restaurants! More info after the cut!
Paradox Interactive just teased a new life simulation game called Life by You. Old sims players like myself will recognize the name Rod Humble as the man behind the wheel of TS2.
More news will arrive at an announce ment event on March 20th.
I'm very interested to see how the development of this game goes! It's finally time for The Sims to have competition, also the fact that Rod Humble is involved makes me think that this game will have more things in common with The Sims 2/3 instead of 4. The graphics look great, I wanna see a nearer shot of the characters to get a better idea of how they look like!
I hope this announcement doesn't interfere with the hype for Paralives. The more competition, the better!
As some of you may have noticed, the Plumb Bob Keep site has been down for several days. At this time, we do not know anything about the future of the site; we have no contact with Sunni's family, who pay for it.
Since the future of the site is uncertain, we are calling for all hands on deck to help us try to archive as much of the downloads as possible: images, text, links and actual download zips. We will primarily be using the Wayback Machine, but as Google searching was only turned on in the last year, many things will not be accessible.
Fire_flower has created a spreadsheet to help organize the effort and allow us to see where the gaps are. This will be step one of the process, before we dive into our personal collections.
If you would like to help out, please add your name to the spreadsheet linked below. Large sections might need 2 or more people to team up. Please ask if you have questions over at the PBK Discord or fireflowersims or fracturedmoonlight via tumblr. Thank you so much for your time and help!

The Plumbob Keep is the biggest community out there for historical-medieval TS2, and I think it is one of the largest communities overall for this game. I am currently away from my laptop so I cannot help, but every TS2 simmer who can should give a hand storing the site's data before it gets shut down!
I made a Downloads Directory on Pinterest to make navigating through my content easier! If you're using Tumblr on your laptop or PC, you can find the link to the directory under my avatar. Otherwise, here's a direct link to the Pinterest board: CLICK!
I was today years old when I realized you don't have to pick a location when you send your Sim to a community lot. You just have to pick which hood you want them to go to and then hit the check, it will go to neighborhood view and let you pick a community lot from there. Posting for anyone else like me who never knew this
