How many times am I going to see people shit on Natsu for leaving after Tartaros?
Let's get some things straight:
- He just watched his father die before his eyes.
- He watched "Lucy" die before his eyes.
- Since Tenrou the majority of Natsu's battles have ended horribly. He almost died quite a few times and was unable to protect his family when they needed him.
- He left because he's suffering from trauma and he felt he needed to get stronger if he wanted to keep them safe. Understandably, he never wants to go through the pain of losing anyone again.
- He didn't know the guild had disbanded. He did not know.
- He did not know Lucy would be on her own after that. He thought she still had the guild to be with while he was gone.
- When he came back and met Lucy again, his first question was HOW IS THE GUILD? and when she told him the guild was gone he was so shocked he almost fell over. His first act after that was to restore the guild.
The people you SHOULD be angry at for leaving Lucy:
Lucy's own team could not take two minutes to contact her. Knowing the circumstances of the disband, no one in the guild stayed in contact. Gray and Erza had SMARTPHONES and could not give her a call every now and then, even in the 6 months before they began infiltrating Avatar. They even admitted they saw she was working for Sorcerer Weekly and still did not reach out.
Natsu didn't know the guild was gone and had no way to contact anyone since he was homeless for that year. Everyone else was still around and made no effort to be there for Lucy. She had to track them down herself and in the end, could not reach out because it seemed like everyone was fine without her and the guild, because they didn't contact her once.
You're angry at the wrong person. Natsu doesnt deserve any of that hate.
