Kian turns into a big, gross, love sick puppy when it comes to the person that she loves. She is big on affection and will constantly want to hug, cuddle or hold their hand, but not to the point where she comes off as clingy - she’s even very affectionate and touchy with her girlfriends. She would also be the type to throw date nights at least once a week, even if it means staying in at home with take out and movies. It doesn’t take a lot to please her, honestly.

Small wedding, for sure. A small and intimate wedding where only Kian and her partners families are present, as well as some close friends. Because I feel like that is my next addiction at this point, stress eat instead of shopping.” Thea grinned towards her best friend and laughed, “Either I am becoming some sort of sex addict or I usually go sleep with someone when I’m overwhelmed, I slept with one of my father’s interns at the firm.” 

“Absolutely, we offer all the services you can think of. If it makes you feel any better, it’s a lot cheaper to have a food addiction than a shopping one. Can’t say the same for your teeth though.” Kian joked with a laugh. “What? First baby Caruso and now one of your dads employees? Thea Lincoln, you are quite the scandalous woman lately. Can’t say I’m disappointed, I’m kinda enjoying living vicariously through you.” she added, the chuckle never falling short from her lips before waving her hands in the air. “Sorry, sorry. I’m literally no help right now. Seriously though, are you okay? This wouldn’t have anything to do with someone with the initials of T and J?”

“And here I thought it was for my exceptional wit and taste in clothing.” There came a light squeeze of Kian’s hand before Regina nodded behind the rim of her own cup, half wishing for something a bit stronger as their topic of conversation segued. “Apparently. I haven’t been by to see her for myself.” Dark locks shook in response. “Not one word.” Which was precisely where her ire lay in this entire mess. “Fine. fine. It’s kids, they’re— well, estoy asustado. I don’t know how to be in a child’s life, I’m not built for it.”

“Oh, that too, of course.” Kian chuckled with a wink as she leaned back comfortably on her chair. It was nice to talk to someone about what had been plaguing her mind lately, which was probably the reason for her loud exhale. “Why not? I thought... well, I thought you were closer than that. I know I’d be furious if my brothers kept something like this from me too.” she said, pressing her lips together. “Why are you scared, mi amor? She’d have the coolest aunty on the Upper East Side, you should embrace it.” Kian tried to joke with a light laugh before it died down to silence. “What makes you say that?”

The older male fell silent as a year’s worth of harbored emotion washed over him. His Father had gone back to LA for a business trip, fit as always, then a few days later he turns up dead – out of the blue. No explanation. The police tried to explain it to Alex and his brothers but it was way over his head and it didn’t matter how his Dad died - he was gone and an autopsy report didn’t change that. A lump had formed in the back of his throat and he found it hard to swallow without it hurting. “Not him apparently,” Alex mumbled feeling sorry for himself. “I’ve been too wrapped up in Selene and how I feel about her that I forgot the man who gave me everything.” Alex knew Kian had a point and it helped a little but the guilt and shame of forgetting his Dad’s anniversary were too much for him to just brush past.

Kian leaned her head in the palm of her hands as she listened to her friend. As morbid as it might’ve sounded, it was nice listening to something other than her own problems - at least then she knew she could help in some way. Kian bit the inside of her cheeks as she placed a hand over his shoulder, squeezing it a little. “Hey,” she started. “Don’t be so hard on yourself, I won’t allow it.” she added, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she tried to look for his eyes. At the mention of Selene, she pressed her lips together and nodded her head. Knowing their history, she couldn’t say she was surprised. “Well, that’s exactly what I’m here for. How do you feel about Selene? You know this conversation will never leave this room, so don’t you lie to me.”

“A break? Never heard of her. But I think the only break time I actually do is when I get home and just throw myself on my bed to take a quick nap before you know…binge watching a show.” Athena smiled and playfully rolled her eyes, “She worries too much, but I’m fine. Just making sure nothing goes out of whack here so when she does return to work she won’t be so overwhelmed you know?” 

“Well, you’re about to since I’m introducing you to each other. I’m quite well aquatinted with her too since I convinced my dad to take a break every now and then, so come on. Pack up and come with me.” she said through a chuckle as she gestured a hand. “But seriously, you stay in here any longer and these books might start talking to you.”

Maverick laughed, enjoying the look on Kian’s face before he shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know. I guess we’re a thing. A rocky thing, but it’s working.” He didn’t want to say anything negative, opting to be more hopeful than anything else.

“You both have a thing for vagueness, huh?” Kian said with a raise of her eyebrow. “What rocky thing? I’m his sister and I’m your friend, you don’t have to hide anything from me.”

As Elliot glared at the colored pool ball that had teetered on the edge instead of just falling in to score, he then turned back to Kian about to motion for her to take a turn, until her words hit him. He blinked, only then realizing that the last time they played at Bord’Elle was primarily more of a blur than anything… his eyes found themselves meeting Kian’s at the moment, as if fleeting flashes of that night had come back the instant he did so. “I — yeah. No problem.” Elliot nodded as he came around to her end of the table, pool stick in hand. “I mean, really? You never played pool before?’ He asked with a grin. “Okay, uh…did you see how I shot? With the pool stick? At those balls in the middle there?” Elliot motioned, temporarily sidetracked by what she told him about her mother. “Nice, Ki. She fucking deserved it, I would have too. — I mean, she should have expected the reaction after all of it though, you know? Even if she does have something to tell you guys.” God, the whole Olivia Hendrix situation made him sick. “Alright, and thanks. Really. — That’s awesome, you know. I don’t care how many times I’ve told you already. Black Swan. I knew you’d get it, you better tell me the schedule. I want to come to every show. Front row seat.”

Kian liked tot think she was good at avoiding subjects and it had been obvious that she had been avoiding this one. Not that she didn’t want to talk about it, but because she didn’t want to complicate things more in her life - especially with Elliot. She remembered the events of the Bord’Elle opening live and well in her mind, a memory that wasn’t bad remembering and maybe she was being selfish, but she needed her best friend more than ever right now. “Yeah, if there’s anything you don’t know about me, it’s that.” she laughed, nodding her head along as she listened to him. “Exactly. She literally can’t just walk back into our lives and expect us to welcome her with open arms... I won’t have it.” Kian admitted, getting lost in her train of thought momentarily before looking back up at him, looking for his eyes as she smiled. Elliot had always been the most supportive person in her life, there was no doubt that she’d do the same for him. “Of course, you’ll be the first person that gets to look at the schedule, please. Front row seat you’ll be.” she chuckled. “I’ve missed this, you know.”

Aurelia didn’t get the chance to reach for her comforter to try and hide within the confines of her sheet, watching as Kian pulled them out of her reach. “If you loved me you’d let me sleep,” the blonde’s tone this time around, however, was less whiny. Her brow raised in slight surprised as Aurelia stretched her arm over towards her nightstand to retrieve her phone, pressing the home button and seeing that the time indeed was almost 12:15. “Those blackout shades are seriously no joke,” Aurelia chuckled, tossing her phone behind her as she moved to stand up from the bed. “I suppose I should be thanking you for the wake-up call otherwise I would have slept all day.”

“Oh, I do, don’t you ever doubt that. If I stayed another day in my house, I don’t think I’d ever come out.” she admitted through a light chuckle before looking over at her curtains. “Yeah, what the hell? Remind me to come over more, especially for sleepovers. I made a mistake purchasing a condo that was so... open.” Kian said, shaking her head. “If you’re quick, maybe we’ll catch Levi on the clock and what’s so bad about waking up for some free chocolate croissants? It’s the only time where having chocolate for breakfast is allowed - I mean, that and Nutella but that’s not my point.”

“It still shocks me that you bike to work. You are simply an enigma and I love you for it.” Nic beamed at the brunette, glad she had showed. “Ok–but like, what is with that? Why can’t the subway ever be on time? Is there some universal law that prohibits public transit to make people’s lives easier?” She raised her brow, smiling slightly. “Kian, love–you are never boring. Don’t say that about yourself. Surely something interesting happened? Or something good?” She offered, curious on what was happening with her since the last time she saw the brunette. “The wedding? Oh god, the one my boss reamed me for even though I couldn’t have done anything differently? But that’s small pennies compared to how Daphne must be feeling.”

“Well, it’s a lot cheaper and more efficient than a car. Especially in the city, plus, you’re way too nice to me for your own good.” Kian said with a chuckle as she began her stretches. “You should come on a ride for me one day, preferably out of the city. It’s getting a little... crowded here.” she confessed with a clear of her throat. Kian wasn’t sure when the weird turn happened in her life but she sure didn’t enjoy it. Plus, who was she if she didn’t just up and leave when things got too difficult? Even though she made a promise to herself to not do it again, she didn’t know how to cope. “Nothing good, at least. Let’s just say that much.” Kian said, pressing her lips together as she tried to diverted the subject once again. “What an asshat. Nobody saw that coming - nobody.”
