With such engine specifications, the car claims to offer a healthy mileage of 25.17 kmpl. The car was launched in June last year at an effective price of Rs 2.42 lakh. The carmaker has also introduced a 68 bhp, 1-litre variant of the hatchback, while an AMT version is expected to get launch in early 2018.
Renault Kwid - 25.17 kmpl
The rugged-looking Renault Kwid has grabbed a lot of attention with its impressive space, crossover-appearance and a healthy set of features. The hatchback car shares the same ARAI rated fuel efficiency figure with that of Datsun rediGO, 25.17 kilometres per litre. Powering the car is a 796 cc engine that delivers an output of 54 bhp power and a peak torque of 72 Nm, exactly the same as Datsun rediGO. Renault Kwid is slightly more premium with spacious interiors and a touchscreen infotainment system on the top-end variant. The Renault Kwid price for starts from Rs 2.65 lakh and goes up to Rs 3.80 lakh for the top-end trim.
Maruti Alto 800 - 24.7 kmpl
Apart from being one of the best selling cars, Maruti Alto 800 is fuel-efficient as well, although a bit behind the Datsun rediGO and Renault Kwid on the list of the most fuel-efficient petrol cars in India. The reason behind its popularity among the small cars is its fuel efficiency, price (starting from Rs 2.83 lakhs) and obviously the company’s extensive service network. Maruti Alto 800 comes with a 796 cc motor which produces a maximum power of 47.3 bhp and 69 Nm of torque.
Tata Tiago, the company’s new hatchback, makes an entry into the list of the top five most fuel-efficient petrol cars with an ARAI certified 23.84 kmpl. It is a good looking hatchback priced between Rs 3.24 lakh and Rs 4.99 lakh, featuring a stylish design and nice features. The car is cheaper than most of its rivals, which makes it a fantastic option for money proposition. Tata Tiago is powered by a 1.2-litre engine and produces a power of 85 bhp. An automatic transmission system (AMT) version is also on offer.
Maruti Celerio - 23.1 kmpl
Another product from Maruti Suzuki has made an entry to the list. Maruti Celerio was developed by the company to replace the Estilo and A-Star, and ever since its launch, Celerio has done well in India. The car is powered by a 998 cc motor which is capable of producing a maximum power of 67 bhp and 90 Nm, and claims to deliver a mileage of 23.1 kmpl.
