Mark your calendars! Kiddads Week is taking place from Oct. 26 - Nov. 1st with five kiddad-specific days, one free day, and one prompt day. The schedule is as follows:

NOTE: It is more than okay to create something featuring more than one kiddad for one of the kiddad-specific days! Anything featuring any of the kiddads + spouses/parents/teens/etc. is also splendid, as long as at least one kiddad is featured in it in some capacity. Moreover, while we have official prompts for the prompt day, feel free to use it as a second "free day" if none if the prompts provided suit your fancy!

Basically all types of fan creations are permitted for the event. Fanart? Fanfic? Cosplay? Headcanons? Meta? Something else? Fuck yeah, as long as it's kiddad-related!
In the case of headcanons and meta in particular, we only ask that you not use this event as an opportunity to actively tear characters down. Angst is great and welcome, portraying characters as villains in a lighthearted way is fun, and we will do our best to take more nuanced takes on characters in good faith. But please, if your cool kiddad headcanon is "Sparrow is worse than Willy", save it for another day.
On that note, we reserve the right to refuse to reblog any posts to the event blog at our own discretion, for any reason.
NSFW stuff is welcomed warmly as long as everyone featured is 18+, we also ask that you tag accordingly. Any such materials reblogged to the event blog will be tagged as #notsafefordaddies in case you need to block it.
While we can't speak on behalf of the folks at @dndads-unkinktober, we are aware of the event overlap and personally think it's cool if you want to create pieces that are meant to be part of both of them. In fact, we think if you compare our lineup order with their corresponding unkinktober prompts you'll find that they match up quite swimmingly, in our unprofessional opinion.
Anything racist/homophobic/misogynistic/transphobic/etc. is NOT welcomed and will not be reblogged to the event blog, which we hope is a given.
All that being said, please take other people's creations in good faith and assume no ill-intent. This goes for character takes that upset you as well. That means no harassment of any kind, please and thank you!

Nicky (The mother)
- Nicky practically raised her own mother.
After her father’s death, the role of primary caretaker often falls upon the living parent. Such was not the case.
Nicky didn’t seem to mind it. She had always had to hover around her mother and accept the distant role she played. They are best friends. They always have been. Sometimes, when your best friend gets home hangover, you just have to help her to bed.
Other times, your best friend sends you a gift for Christmas rather than being there. It’s all fine, truly, there are worst mothers to have. Nicky has never felt any frustration . Glenn did her best.
If only that was enough.
Nicole (The Crone)
- Nicole was a mama’s girl. Stuck up and self-righteous due to her mother Jodie being a cop. She was a stickler for rules and hated the nickname Nicky.
Her father and her mother were two opposite people: Her mother was a strict and disciplined. While her father was laid back and covered in tattoos and piercings from his yonder years. Nicole often saw her parents and shook her head.
She was born a 73 year old judgements old woman here. She tucked in her shirt and tugged down on her dresses.
What a loser.
HEADCANONS!!!
• Nicky Close lost one of her permanent teeth In a fight that began over a card game.
-Nicole Foster lost one of her permanent teeth by face-planting in church as she walked through the aisle and tripped on her dress.
• Anti fast fashion !
• Dyes her hair without gloves because she likes the stained hands look
• Likes Halloween more than Christmas because her mom is home.
• first celebrity crush was Elvira
• keeps her baby photo as her Instagram pfp (has one of the cool ones where she has shades on and money in hand)

Terry, born Terricka, was named after her mother.
The two were inseparable from the moment they were separated. A rather violent event leading to her mother’s heart condition worsening. But that was surely nothing to worry about, the doctors ensured.
Terry Jr. and her mother did everything together, she taught Terry how to be alive.
A shame that her lessons were cut short.
After her mother’s death, Terry closed herself off from the world. After all, she blamed herself. She stopped doing the things she loved, she stopped caring about anything after her mother passed. Especially not the new woman her father began to date a couple years after her passing.
Terry, with nowhere else to push the blame beyond herself, began to hate Rhonda, her father’s new wife.
(Shorter than the others because I have something special for these two ready for Rhonda’s post [#plotting])
HEADCANONS !!
• Terry knows how to sew and crochet, she learned it from her grandmother and kept up the hobby with her mom. She doesn’t do it anymore.
• She is 6’2”
• Joined soccer as an attempt to get out of the house and away from Rhonda
• Quite popular at school: Student council member
- Has a lot of secret admirers. But is painfully oblivious
• Will have a goth phase in her late teens
• After S1, she has “mama mall dates” with Rhonda where Terry holds her hand and takes her to build a bear and then to get cake.
• Also lesbian / Granterry was canon for a moment but they parted on good terms after college.
- Scary’s mom is still a woman in this au cause I said so
(In this Au, all the characters have switched their canon genders. The dads are all moms, the moms are all dads, the sons are now daughters. )

- LARK ( THE REBEL)
Everyday, it’s Lark and Sparrow. Never Sparrow and Lark. Be it favoritism or not, Lark has always had all of Mary’s (Henry) attention. Lark hated the spotlight almost as much as she hated her mother. She felt disconnected from everyone except her sister. The two, beyond looks, couldn’t be more different. But Lark, hid from this. She wanted to be her sister, she wanted the eyes off of her, she wanted the guilt in her chest from dooming humanity to wash away. She wanted the touch of a gun in her palm to not feel like home.
Suspensions, misbehavior, screaming matches. All of it meant nothing. Her partner in crime grew out of it, found meaning in love. Found meaning in being good, just for the sake of it. She longed to be like her twin, to fit the stereotype that others placed upon them. She held on and dug her nails deep.
- SPARROW (THE GLASS CHILD)
Nobody looks beyond Cain. Nobody talks about Abel and how his soul hovered just beyond his brother’s eyes, finding a home in the background.
That is because nobody cared about Abel. Abel was good. Abel did as he was told, he was a good brother and good son. A good servant, to god up high.
Sparrow was—IS— good. She holds onto her sister, hoping to catch any praise beyond “why can’t you be more like Sparrow?” Oh god, she was more than that. More than a watchdog, more than an obedient daughter. More than a statue of perfection. She wanted to be her sister. She wanted her mother’s attention.
She just couldn’t understand. Mary had a good daughter, she had a daughter that would never stab her in the back, she had a devoted follower in Sparrow. Then why does LARK get all the attention, the loving monologues, the reassuring hugs and one on one discussions. Just because Sparrow has never questioned her parents’ love for her, does not mean she does not want to hear it. She wants to be reassured, she wants to be spoken to, she wants to speak back.
Maybe if she keeps smiling, they’ll see what they already have.
Headcanons !!
• Lark and Sparrow had their ears pierced at 6 months, due to their father (Manuel) insisting. Mary was very skeptical and grew to regret the choice, letting the piercings close three days later but the two pierced their own ears at 10 anyway.
• Lark, surprisingly, wants a quincinera, if only to make her sister happy
• Lark and Sparrow have silver teeth
• When they were younger, Lark and Sparrow wore those frilly church socks as boxing gloves and playfully fought in their grandmother’s closet.

THE BROKEN MACHINE
Gianna Wilson killed her first animal at thirteen. Her mother clenching her pearls as she watched her daughter stare at the viscera and whining of a trisected chimera. She did not feel empathy.
She is a faulty creature, devoid of her humanity.
That day, her soul was altered. She was no longer Gianna, she could never be the girl she once was. The girl who liked dancing in the kitchen with her parents, sappy romcoms, and playing soccer. She was haunted by a past she can never return to and a future that seems so temporary.
What stood there, bloody and soiled, was no girl. It was a machine, a murderous thing of her mother’s own creation. Her mind in an eternal cycle of self destruction and preservation. There was a sadness in her eyes that you can only see in the stained glass windows of abandoned monasteries.
But that’s puberty for you.
HEADCANONS !
• Gianna is such a daddy’s girl, she is exactly like her father (Connor Wilson)
• Still identifies with Catholicism but in a nostalgic/ that was my childhood kind of way rather than believing in it.
• Nike headband wearing Lesbian
- Also, Yeet Bigly is also butch in this AU
• Doesn’t fit her mother’s view of femininity but has never felt ostracized or outcast for it and is secretly grateful for the mother she has.
• Really big fan of Riot Grrrl music
• Traditional Catholic upbringing without the internalized homophobia but with the guilt for being alive

Going to twist the prompt a bit to talk about what I think would happen to each of the kiddads if they got doodlerized.
Grant Wilson
He would become something like The Library, including physical form. He's not obsessed with book returns though. Something more like, being obsessed with trying to teach people to become (what he thinks are) the best version of themselves. Forcing people to read the books he gives them and making them become someone completely different through them.
Nicky Close Freeman Foster
He'd find himself obsessed with turning people into alternative versions of themselves. Nicky would probably transform people who have the same problem that he had. The question of "where you raised right?" being his driving philosophy for if he should alter someone. His doodlerized form might take on a fractured look, with one third looking more like Nick, the center third looking like Nicky, and the final third looking like Nicholas.
Terry Jr.
Did someone say step-dad who's trying too hard? That's right, Terry's whole stick is trying to fix broken families. Now seeing as he's doodlerized, he does it completely wrong. Altering bad parents to be artificially better and doing the same to make step-kids like their step parents. His form is something resembling how vampire Terry Senior dressed but being deformed like the mayor.
Sparrow Oak
He has to find a way to fix what he and Lark did. He has to make everything as normal as possible. He'll do anything to make everything and everyone feel normal.
"Oh, you remember the sky being blue? Well I can't fix the sky, so I guess I'll just make sure you can't see it. There, now it's right again."
Their form is the most normal looking of the kiddads, but there's just something off with his eyes and ears. His eyes seem blank, and his ears are too wolf-like (so that they can hear any complaints about abnormalities).
Lark Oak
The boy most obsessed with studying the Doodler, the one most likely to find just a bit too much information about other eldritch horrors. The only one, who sat on the throne.
Everyone else becomes obsessed with altering others due to their own philosophies and a twisted wish to help fix things, but not Lark. The moment he feels himself beginning corrupted, he gives up. That causes him to be an easy target to manipulate to do the dirty work for someone else.
Lark is obsessed with turning people to join the Cult of the Doodler. He doesn't care who or why, if they can be manipulated, he'll make sure they are.
His form is not really based on anything known to him other than the Doodler. He has static clouding his eyes and he constantly wears a purple robe and a necklace with his and Sparrow's drawing of the Doodler. Other than that, he seems completely normal.
About grant and the library. I have 10 billion self indulgent thoughts on it. Like he can do the Kelsey thing and be like hi I am your favourite librarian. He loves the children in the library a lot. And then sometimes a child he knew from the library gets doodlerized and sometimes they have to kill the child(it's a bad bad day for him) and sometimes they can talk them down. And then ppl did get doodlerized a lot because they were in a bad situation that put them in a bad place so the kiddads have to put a portion of their budgets into social services so ppl get doodlerized less and the library is used as a front for some of them.
Anyways DADDIEs pivot to repairing society and social services and stuff post doodler To me.
Also he used to sneak in certain quota of big words when talking to Lincoln so he knows them even if he doesn't like reading.
Holy shit, we've already reached the last day of Kiddads Week, oh how time flies when you're obsessing over a bunch of fucking freaks from your shows.
We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this event in any capacity, whether it was a single post for one character or if you're one of the insanely cool people who's been creating things for every day of the event. And thanks to everyone who helped spread the word and otherwise engaged with the event too! It sounds cliché, but fandom fun like this does not exist without cool and passionate people willing to take part.
We'd like to remind everyone finally that late submissions are totally allowed, so please don't worry if you have things you're hoping to complete that you just haven't had the time to finish yet. We will also stress that you can @ us directly to make absolute sure that we see it!
