I have other essays that i have written but I, myself am not sure if i should share. My teacher says I have talent in writing though, so they cant be that bad lol

It was more of a narrative essay. No questions to be answered, just narrate.

Essay due tomorrow, should i submit this?

We were supposed to write a narrative essay. This is what i came up with. should I use it?

            As  we  get  older,  we  go  through  our  own  trials  and  tribulations.  People  who  go  through  the same  experience  do  not  always  learn  the  same  lesson.  Everyone is  unique,  even  if  they  accommodate  to  societies  standards.  I  conformed  to  societies  standards  when  I  was  in  high  school.  When  you  conform,  it  is  not  just  accepting  a  trend  or  fad,  you  also  develop  a  way  of  thinking  that  prevents  your  true  self  from  showing.  You  basically  take  a  blanket  with  holes  and  you  cover  the  light  that  you  are.  Now  I  say  a  blanket  with  holes  because  we  do  add  a  small  amount  of  ourselves  into  the  style  we  embellish,  but  lets  face  it,  a  dollar  with  a  mustache  drawn  on  George  Washington  is  still  a  dollar.  For  me,  hiding  my  true  self  was  the  easiest  thing  to  do  to  fit  in.

            I  took  the  easiest  way  out.  I  took  the  blanket  and  I  covered  the  light  I  am.  I  suppressed  the  amazing  person  I  am  just  for  the  approval  of  my  peers.  In  other  words,  out  of  all  colors  I  could  have  been,  I  decided  to  be  gray.  By  the  time  I  realized  what  I  was  doing,  it  was  too  late  for  me.  All  the  time  I  spent  looking  for  approval  from  the  wrong  people,  and  for  what?  I  became  a  high-school  dropout, with  no  motivation  to  do  anything  and  everything  I  wanted  to  do  in  my  life  like  helping  others  less  fortunate  than  I,  putting  money  back  into  the  city  that  I  was  raised  in,  or  making  a  difference  in  this  world.

            I  thought  it  was  over  for  me  once  I  hit  rock  bottom.  With  no  type  of  motivation,  I felt  like  it  was  over,  but  then  I  realized  that  from  down  here,  there  was  nowhere  to  go  but  up.  I  learned  a  life  lesson  when  I  had  that  epiphany;  I  went  and  got  my  GED.  Within  the  same  week,  I obtained  my  license  and  I  immediately  started  looking  for  schools.  That  day,  I  decided  to  remove  the  blanket  from  the  light.  I’ve  never  shined  as  bright  as  I  am  shining  now.
