In their early teens Wally and Fanny were really close because they were both mentally ill punk trans people in poverty and the chances of coming across another person that could be accurately described with all of those terms in the mid 2000s was close to zero so they took advantage of it lmfao. Both before and after, they aren't anywhere near being as close as they are in their early teens. As kids they hate each other because of Fanny's massive boy problem and Wally's massive girl problem, their late teens Fanny doesn't want much to do with Wally because whenever Wally is around HOAGIE is around and nobody wants to be around that piece of shit even if you're just there for Wally, and in their young adult years the only times they're bothering about the thought of each other is either when they're at the same bar at the same time and Wally forgets (the simple term for "tripping balls and can't think straight") Fanny is lesbian and tries to get some money out of her, or when Kuki is ranting about how much Wally pisses her off and how angry she is about him doing something she doesn't like, whether or not she's justified for feeling that way or not. Kuki and Fanny stay friends for most of their life. There was also that briiiief moment where Hoagie and Fanny were dating where Wally was considering Fanny just because she was associated with Hoagie. As I've stated before, those two didn't last for a week before Fanny realized that Hoagie was so unstable and unaware about his instability's impact on other people that him being her partner would drive her more insane than she already was. Good decision on her part, honestly.

In their early teens, Wally and Fanny stole a lot of shit together, most of their attire was stolen and that's usually how they got more expensive food since both of them were living off of boxed mac and cheese and spam. Though, they aren't skinny because they're poor — trust me, if they were eating what they were offered by both their families and their friends, they'd be quite chubby. Alas, this is the mid 2000s, and most of us know the kind of bad habits in teen culture that existed at that time.

Probably important to mention that Mr Boss lost custody of Fanny at around this time, and the reason she's living in poverty is because she's living with her mother, who is struggling to hold a job. Her mother isn't the most kind individual, but Fanny would have suffered much more in her life if she was living with her father and not her mother. If you asked adult Fanny if she thinks living in poverty for her teen years was better than living with her father, she wouldn't skip a beat in saying "yes". She couldn't give you a well–thought opinion as a teen because she'd just tell you they both suck and everything sucks and nothing sucks more because it all sucks.
