Thinking about how both An and Akito are independent not because they wanted to but because they learnt it out of necessity. Not saying that they were completely neglected as children but I do think they were left to fend for themselves often with two working parents, and radder and Shinei are shown to be extreme workaholics because of how much they love their jobs. Akito specifically still had Ena when he was younger but after she started struggling with art in junior high I imagine he suddenly had no one left to rely on. Which is probably why in early game he always thought of solving things on his own, and why the whole "rely on me more" thing with Touya means a lot to his character.

Do you ever think about how the existence of SEKAI is Fate. How the creation of SEKAI predetermined the formation of every unit. When Leo/need parted ways in junior high school, school sekai was created with virtual singers who played band instruments. More more jump was always destined to meet on the rooftop of Miyajou. Even before Kohane knew anything about rad weekend, she was meant to be part of vbs because of An’s desire for a partner. Wxs Miku + Kaito and Nightcord Miku searched for kindred spirits to help their respective sekai owners, allowing wxs to meet in PXL and Nightcord to meet online. I think about it often.

Summary:
When Touya decides to make his schoolmate Shinonome Akito his next target for his villainous mission, he never expects Akito to resist his charms so easily. Slowly, his fascination with Akito grows. But as they start to become closer, the line between his secret identity as a villain and his true self blurs...
This is the prequel to Love Language, part of my April Fool's 2025 AU, but can also be read standalone.
Thinking about vbs main story when Akito met Kohane for the first time and immediately assumed she didn't have resolve... but he ended up being right about that. Kohane never had a dream, so she agreed to team up with An only because she liked the feeling of singing with her and wanted to try something new, not because she truly wanted to surpass rad weekend. The power cut incident made Kohane realise that she actually wanted to keep singing with An no matter what, that's why she found the resolve she lacked before. She also said they'd surpass rad weekend knowing nothing about it aside from the fact that it's a "legendary event" because that's An's dream, and to keep singing with her, she had to have the same dream. That's why Legend Still Vivid was a necessary event for her; she got a more concrete idea of what rad weekend truly was like which fueled her desire to surpass it.
Kohane's dream turned from just "I want to sing with An" to "I want to sing with An and surpass rad weekend", while An's dream turned from just "I want to surpass rad weekend" to "I want to surpass rad weekend and sing with Kohane forever". It's interesting to see their goals progress from two opposite ends and meet in the middle from main story -> wtwg

I think it's a pretty good event, definitely not the best but it made me have a lot of thoughts.
I've mentioned this before but the concept of rivals is deeply rooted in An's character and story, so I was really surprised when it turned out to be a pretty big thing in this Touya event. It made me realise that the basis of rivalry differs for the two of them—Touya enjoys being rivals with specifically Slade and Cedric because he likes being able to "return" their feelings of wanting to give it their all, for their sake, while An enjoys rivalry with everyone she's close to because she likes winning and losing; to be chased and to chase after. It's what she builds all her relationships upon.
In my opinion, what this event focused on was Touya’s empathetic nature. The reason why he was so stubborn about performing despite having a fever was because he wanted to respond properly to Slade and Cedric's declaration of rivalry. He was able to understand Slade's feeling of not wanting to be pitied because of his deaf ear as he could put himself in his shoes, due to their mutual love of music.
I believe that Slade having a deaf ear is meant to be a parallel to Touya's physical limits, although the circumstances are different. It was also a point of comparison in the story, that an injury/being sick could hold them back from singing.
This event also set up connections between Akito’s mental limits (burnout) and Touya’s physical limits (getting sick easily). They seem to think that pushing themselves too hard is fine as long as they are by each other's sides, which is definitely self-destructive enabling behaviour. They've not had serious problems so far but I think there may be a time in the future when both of them hit their limits at the same time and are unable to support each other. It's interesting to note that Touya overworked himself because he felt the need to repay Akito for what he did during Overcome One's Limits.
It seems like RUSH BEATS will start the next vbs focus event, but as of right now I don't believe they'll be able to win, for the same reason they lost COUNT X. Up till now, even their best efforts only resulted in the white/multicoloured lines in the background, while both Embers and illys had black lines. This is definitely a purposeful visual representation of the difference in their skill level, and if vbs can't produce the same during their performance, they're likely bound to lose.
Was thinking about why they only added the live2d model of Yukihira into the game during Colors of Pure Sense because he has been a huge part of Ena's focus events since On This Blank Canvas, I Paint, and I feel like they did it on purpose. Previously, Ena thought of art as something painful, yet something she loves, but during CoPS she realises drawing is fun, that she can draw the way she likes. Hence she doesn't view art and Yukihira in a negative light anymore.
I really love the Haruka/Touya/Kanade parallels, especially in relation to their past and motivations. Haruka and Kanade have a selfless desire to help others, even at their own expense, while Touya wishes to help others even if they don't want it. All three of them (thought they may) hurt somebody they cared about with something they love (being an idol/music/composing), but the way they dealt with it differed.
Haruka and Touya gave up on it; Haruka because she was physically unable to continue performing on stage, and Touya because he felt that he was being selfish and was holding Akito back. And it took a special person (Minori/Akito) to convince them not to give up, that there's no such thing as being "undeserving" of doing what they love.
Meanwhile, instead of quitting, Kanade threw herself even more into composing—to save others—in order to prove to herself that she deserved to keep on doing what she loves.
