What’s the brightest color in the body?

Sex is so fascinating, I mean looking at it through the prism of intercorporeal embodiment. The impression of one body on another that can only be created if those bodies exist in very specific shapes highly dependent on their environment and their actual bodily composition. It’s an endless mirroring between physical and phenomenological.
The style of the exchange, the tactility, the residue. There’s so few human exchanges where the event- the touching- has its own object that exists outside of the bodies that made it. Gail Weiss I owe you my life.

Dear Henry, there’s a hole in my bucket…, Dear Henry, what if I don’t contain multitudes…
Dear Henry, there’s a hole in my bucket
When I was younger my sketchbooks were a place for experimentation but I never saw them as private. At art school there’s this idea exposing it as part of your process is an unnecessary unmasking. I think I hate that because I’m beginning to resent self preservation from a place of scarcity. And because the work I’m making now is very intimate. It’s fully about proximity, recalling the body through touch and looking. My sketchbook is where I wind these intangible fragments to material threads. They feel so much more tentative than my paintings and I love the fact that I cannot hide that the way I can in layers and layers of paint.
