Killua x Gon strong and innocent friendship: You were my first friend.
open;; oops
In contrast to her quick fire of words from earlier, Dorothy took a few seconds to respond to Killua’s first question.
“I am from America, the North East to be exact.”
“I was merely asking questions,” She responded quickly. Dorothy made up for her prior lack of speed, “Is there something wrong with that?”
That sounded far. Definitely somewhere that Killua hadn't been to before, unless he went there unknowingly while on a job to assassinate someone.
"No, no problem with it. It's just that people don't normally ask me so many questions. I've only met one other person who asked me questions as openly and easily as you, except your personalities are just a little different." Well, more like very very different. But that was just a tiny detail.
{open 01 - mindless ponderings
“Ahaha… did I make you uncomfortable? Of course… another mistake… I’m sorry, I’m sorry, here!” He placed Killua gently on the ground again. “How unfortunate… I didn’t mean to, of course.”
His face broke out into another grin as he crossed his arms, leaning forward. Killua was awfully intimidating for such a small person! He was probably very powerful… hm… how exciting! Would Killua hurt him? Maybe Killua would be the person to kill—
Oh, he always got far too ahead of himself.
“You’re younger than me, right?” Komaeda thought out loud. “I could sneak in something for you from Hogsmeade! Or, hm… if you wanted, something more illegal. I’m sure there’s something I can do for you. Do you want to practice spells on me?”
Killua couldn't help but shoot a disgruntled look Komaeda's way as he straightened his own clothes. He was getting... Just a little pissed off with this guy and his continuous apologies despite Killua already saying it was fine.
He raised his eyebrow at the taller male when he leaned down, tensing up just a little as he wondered whether Komaeda was going to try doing something weird again. He relaxed and switched his expression to a frown, though, when the other just started to offer to do strange things again.
"Yeah, I'm younger than you. But I don't especially want anything from Hogsmeade. I could always sneak out by myself to get stuff if I wanted to." Of course, he wouldn't actually do it. He'd promised himself that he wouldn't cause too much trouble in Hogwarts. Though, he did break these kinds of promises rather easily.
"Why are you even so desperate to do something for me, anyway... You really don't have to."
{open 01 - mindless ponderings
“No, really! I’d be so happy… to do something for you, to make it up to you, of course! Really, really, it’s absolutely fine. In fact… it’d be perfect… someone as talented as you doesn’t need to do petty things like homework and getting food! It’s almost an honor — no, really, it is an honor — to be able to do that for you! To make myself useful like that…”
Komaeda took a deep breath and pulled the by up, their chests touching. “It’d be the best thing I could do, being so incompetent…”
“You don’t need to be selfless and deny my help! The only thing I can do is serve hopeful people like you, so please, make use of me!”
Killua wondered why this senior kept insisting that he should repay Killua. It seemed like his efforts to help Killua out were becoming borderline desperate. Honestly, Killua literally seemed to be bumping into all sorts of people at Hogwarts this year for some reason, so he didn't particularly mind bumping into this person. This person sure was weird... But then again, so were most of the other people Killua met, and so was Killua himself, so there wasn't much for him to say about that.
Killua was about to dismiss his offer to help him again, but then the other pulled him up, and Killua was left with only his toes touching the ground. (Damn, it was at times like this that he cursed his height, despite being fine with it normally.)
"Put me down."
He couldn't help his voice becoming threatening and losing it's friendly tone. It wasn't exactly the nicest thing, after all, being pulled upward like this.
{open 01 - mindless ponderings
Komaeda liked people — Komaeda loved people… people filled with such beautiful hope for the future, that they’ll become lucky and strike out in life! Some people dreamed of impossible things, striving for something that they would never get, but still pursuing… it was such an amazing sight!
Even though he loved people, most people didn’t love him back. In fact, he was positive that every person in the school hated him. But that was alright! He would die, and that wouldn’t matter, because the only thing he was good for was to encourage hope! People didn’t understand how he could wake up every day being okay with dying… but only people who had things to strive for fought to live! Komaeda just…
Tumble.
Komaeda swayed for a moment but caught his balance easily, blinking owlishly and looking down on the ground. Once again… he didn’t see, ah, stuff like this always happened… his good luck was always overshadowed by bad luck…
“Ah, I’m sorry!” he grinned widely, panting and catching his breath as a thousand thoughts floated his brain. ‘Worthless trash,’ he thought, ‘Knocking into someone… an meaningless apology, you can do better, they deserve better,’ he coughed and tilted his head, offering a hand to the person on the ground.
“You see, I just got a bit caught up in my thoughts, thinking of all the wonderful people here, like you! And I wasn’t paying attention - stupid, dumb me - and knocked right into you! But I’ll make it up to you! I’ll do your homework or bring you food or do all sorts of terrible, illegal things that a person like you would never succumb to doing… I’m sure you can think of some way for a person as useless as me to be of help!
It was rare that Killua lost his balance, but it happened this time when someone bumped into him pretty hard. Damn, he must be losing his touch if he fell over as easily as this. Staying somewhere as peaceful as Hogwarts and not doing much training whatsoever must have dulled his senses if only by a little bit.
... Or maybe it was just because he was munching on a snack while reading on the way back to his dorm.
He was about to thank the other for offering their hand, but...
The string of words that poured out of the other's mouth just after Killua took the hand that was offered was somewhat overbearing. Bringing him food was a nice offer, but Killua rather preferred doing his homework himself. And, well... He already done terrible, illegal things that people like himself wouldn't normally do.
"Y- You don't really have to do that much for me. Just helping me up is good enough. Thanks," he said as he was pulled back onto his feet.

Even though her questions had been quick and demanded a response, she patiently listened as he answered them. So patiently in fact, that it was a few seconds before she responded, and even then her own response was just as blunt.
“I see.”
Dorothy held no hostility for other houses, despite unofficial rivalries that filled the school. She was indifferent to such things, and yet she felt that, even though she knew little of this underclassman, that Slytherin fit him well; just as Ravenclaw fit her.
Regardless, she was aware that she had broached a subject that Killua was not comfortable with, and she decided to not bring it up. Everyone dealt with that, and she was the same. Moreover, she had no intention of purposely hurting someone else’s feelings.
He was relieved she didn't shoot any more questions his way. Not really because it was a sensitive topic, but more because he had been getting a little overwhelmed with the questions. He knew how to handle it when someone ethusiastic and lively bombarded him with questions like that, but someone like Dorothy was a little difficult for him to handle.
"So... Where are you from?" he asked, getting a little more curious about the other. "And why all the questions?" It couldn't have been simple curiosity that made her ask all of those... Right? But then again, he supposed that kind of reason wasn't completely ruled out, either.

Oh he was a nice kid despite being a Slytherin. Well, that just shows she couldn’t judge all Slytherin students based on the same standards. Well, she was glad to know that there were still nice people like him who was willing to help her out!
“That’s fine!” She exclaimed out of honesty. Honestly, he didn’t have to apologize for the fact that. Touko didn’t expect him to know the Gryffindor dormitory that well in the first place. In fact, it was surprising that he was even willing to help her out.
“Just having you offer to help is good enough, Kilua.” She grinned and pounded a fist to her chest, “In the future if you need me to help you, I’ll be there to help!”
Killua smiled as he bent over and picked up one of her two suitcases without much difficulty. Huh. It seemed as if he'd made a new friend. Strange, how his number of friends was increasing. It seemed like only yesterday he'd been at home most of the time, getting into fights with his siblings and being sent out on jobs to assassinate people. It seemed like only yesterday that his father and elder brother had been drilling into his mind assassins don't need friends and yet, here he was now.
"Yeah. I'll be glad to help you out whenever you need it, too," he said in response as he started to make his way to the nearest staircase that would lead them to the seventh floor. He could just manage to hold the suitcase in one hand, though he was walking just a little awkwardly due to his height.
Where the Mayo @ [open]
This was possibly the longest day in the world. The eternal turmoil was too much for Hijikata Toshiro to handle, and he could feel himself going insane with each passing moment. The reason for all of this? He ran out of mayonnaise about an hour ago and is in a major cholesterol depression. His life force was draining quickly and all of the magic in the world would not be able to save him. Well, unless of course, said magic created gallons and gallons of mayonnaise, just for the vice chief’s pleasure. He was lacking the mayo, the source of his strength, the reason for living.
The only thing that kept him well and standing were the cigarettes he kept with him, but once he ran out of those, his legs completely gave him. He fell to the ground with such great force, but he didn’t care. The ultimate pain was in the lack of mayo.
Hijikata’s spirit was quickly depleting, but being the most stubborn man in the world, he just simply could not give up now. He had to make it, he had to live! He didn’t want to die here, not now! He was far too young, he didn’t even get a chance to read the latest edition of The National Mayo, so he must survive.
The man let out a pained groan, forcing himself to crawl against the floor until he was able to latch onto an unsuspecting person’s ankle. His grip was tight, and his breathing heavy as he wheezed out. “Where……. Is……….. The…………. Mayonnaise…………………..”
Chocolate robots sure were the best! Killua munched on one as he made his way through the hallways, in a rather good mood since chocolate robots were one of his favourite treats. He was glad he'd remembered to pack a whole load of them to bring with him to Hogwarts. It was hard to find these babies in the magical world, after all. The muggles sure knew how to come up with some good stuff...! ----
It was then that some... thing? one? ... grabbed onto his ankle, almost causing him to lose his balance. He looked down in confusion. It was a grown man, most likely one of the teachers, lying on the floor as he gripped Killua's leg. He was so much in the way of everything that Killua wondered how he'd even managed to miss something that obstructive. The sight was also so ridiculous that Killua wondered if it really was a teacher or just a fellow student who'd been held back for a few years too many.
This place sure had some weird people...
M- Mayonnaise...? Did the person just say mayonnaise? Was all this really just over mayonnaise......?
"If you wanted mayonnaise, the kitchen might have some..." Killua said, half-annoyed by the bother and the other half... Well, he wasn't exactly sure how to deal with a might-be teacher clinging onto his legs asking for mayonnaise. Not to mention people were starting to stare at the two of them.

Again, Tsurugi raised his eyebrow. What’s a kid like him doing in the hallway lone at a time like this? Well, being thirteen is not too old either, but Tsurugi is more mature and much taller than the boys his age. Is he a new first year? Sure look like it with that size of his. Before he makes more impression about the snowy haired boy, Kiku noticed Tsurugi’s presence and jumped right into his arms.
“h-hey wai—”
This surprised Tsurugi, he stumbled back a bit with a somewhat shocked expression. He swears, no matter how many times Kiku does the tackling thing, he’ll never get use to it.
The boy is now covering his mouth with both of his hands, cheeks puffy and eyes watery. He’s swallowing back a laugh isn’t he, Tsurugi thought with embarrassment. He doesn’t blame the kid, he know it must’ve looked very funny. He took a deep breathe and tries to regain his calm image, but failed because Kiku is nudging against his neck with his furry head, so much for gaining back some respect.
He stared back down at the amusing boy, noticing his green and silver tie. Oh, a Slytherin. Don’t get him wrong, it’s just a simple thought, he doesn’t really mind the houses. I mean he obviously knows about the rivalry between the lions and the snakes, but he could care less since none concerns him at all. The boy was nice enough to return his cat for him, so that’s enough. On the note of that, he should probably thank him for returning Kiku.
“Hey- uh, than-thanks for returning my cat. Uh..?” Tsurugi want to at least ask him for his name, after all, it’s a bit rude to just leave after all that has happened. Tsurugi’s never good at starting conversations with other people, so he hopes he doesn’t sound too strange.
Killua couldn't help but to choke back a chuckle when the cat in his arms jumped straight at its owner. He could only thank that his own cat wasn't quite as affectionate as the other's and likely wouldn't do something like that out of the blue. Sno and him respected each other's space, though they did still snuggle every now and then when the other was in the mood for it.
The sight of the cat nudging the taller boy with its nose made Killua choke back another chuckle, though the result of this one was the sound of what he tried to disguise as a cough. It was, after all, a funny sight, seeing the older and more mature looking male made all flustered by a cat. Killua bent down and took his own cat into his arms, Sno getting just a little bit too noisy with her meows echoing through the corridor.
"The name's Killua. And you don't have to thank me for it." Killua noted that despite the other being from Gryffindor, he didn't seem to show Killua any hostility, which Killua was thankful for. He'd met quite a few Gryffindors when he was a first year that seemed to look down on him just because he was a little shorter than average. He didn't particularly mind his height, but damn were those people annoying. He swore those people were nothing compared to him. He'd probably be able to wipe them o-- ... But that kind of thing wasn't allowed at Hogwarts, so he'd forgiven them and let them go.
"And what's your name?" he asked in return, shaking his previous thoughts out of his mind.

She watched him carefully as he responded, her eyes never leaving him. Dorothy made note of how much slower he was to respond than she, but that didn’t mean she would slow herself down for him. To do that would be silly, or it would be to Dorothy at least.
“Instinct? For what reason does someone have an instinct such as that?” Her barrage of questions hadn’t faltered, “Where do you hail from? Another European country, I assume.”
When he posed a question to her, she deliberately responded quickly.
“I am R. Dorothy Wayneright, fifth year from Ravenclaw. What is your house? I assume you are either a first or second year, correct?”
Killua didn't know there could be anyone who asked so many unneeded questions as much as his best friend did. Though he had to admit, her questions hit all the main points that Killua completely didn't want to talk about perfectly.
"Family problems. And yes, I come from a remote region that tourists like to frequent for some reason." His answer was somewhat blunt, but he didn't exactly find it comfortable to talk about such things with a stranger like her. Least of all his 'family problems'...
Ah, so she was from Ravenclaw. From what Killua could see with all her questions and reactions, the house fit her perfectly. "I'm a second year at Slytherin." He could feel her eyes trained on him, taking in every one of his movements. He was doing the exact same, except maybe it wasn't so obvious to someone untrained in the arts of assassination.

Dorothy had simply been meandering, passing the time as she wished until her next class. However, she had seen the younger student come near her, and she didn’t acknowledge him until he happened to — literally —contact her. She raised an eyebrow and him, her cold eyes already beginning to analyse him.
‘Second year,’ she thought to herself. She caught how his body tensed up when he touched her, and grew curious as to why.
“Killua,” she replied promptly, “You’re name sounds strange; are you foreign?”
She didn’t wait for an answer, and adjusted her books in her hands before speaking once more, “Why did your body tighten up after you touched me? Do you wish to fight?”
Her expression remained emotionless, and her blunt words did not miss a beat. Just like them, she had little patience.
“Well, foreigner Killua?”
Killua hadn't expected to have that many questions thrown at him simultaneously. He managed to catch all of them with no problem, but she kept asking the next question too quickly for him to answer the previous one. He scratched the back of his head when she finally gave him a chance to actually answer. He hoped he didn't miss any of the questions
He raised his hand slightly, ticking off the questions on his fingers as he answered them. "Yes, you could say that I'm a foreigner. My body tensed up because it was instinct to me, and no, I don't want to cause a fight."
"And you? What's your name?"
001//introduction [open]
Slytherin didn’t have the friendliest people from what she had read from outdated magazines back in town. They were mostly people who were extremely proud of themselves and perhaps even a little too arrogant. But that was a different story, she couldn’t judge a person based on what house they were sorted in. Maybe they would be different?
“Yeah that’s true…” She sighed softly before brushing her hair out of her face but smiled when he told her where she should be heading. He wasn’t half bad, maybe, he was actually a really nice kid.
“Those?” She looked at her two suitcases and chuckled a little. “W-Well, help would be nice but you don’t have to…”
Touko was perhaps too proud for her own good but seeing herself in a situation like this, there was no way she couldn’t get through this without any help around. Kilua, thankfully, didn’t laugh at her about not being capable.
Killua could tell it wouldn't be an easy task for her to lug two suitcases up to the seventh floor all on her own. Despite the fact that it would be risky for a Slytherin like him to get too close to the Gryffindor dorm (especially when he wasn't having classes there at the moment), he was pretty sure they wouldn't mind if the reason he was going up there was to help one of their members out.
"It's not a problem! I could help you bring up your luggage. I'm free at the moment, anyway." Well, not really. He had homework to do, but that could always wait till later. "I couldn't show you exactly where the dorm is, though, and the password into it... You'd have to ask another Gryffindor for that."
◇ here goes another year || open
Things finally quiet downed a bit after the start-of-term feast. New first years with their wondrous eyes are nowhere to be seen, must’ve all went to their rightful common rooms. Thank Merlin, he vaguely thought in his mind. The food was enjoyable and all, but Tsurugi never liked huge crowd and loud noises. Call him anti social all you want, he likes his solitude no matter what others think.
It’s already pass 8 pm, one hour until curfew. After witnessing such a huge crowd of people and enthusiastic new faces, Tsurugi is far from feeling sleepy. Going back to his dorm certainly is not a top choice for him; in fact, it’s the last place he wants to be right now. With his incredibly loud roommates, who knows what he’ll do under the entire “dorm welcome-back party” atmosphere.
Tsurugi walked alone in the quiet hallways, his Munchkin cat Kiku followed behind him enthusiastically like always. The dark hallways and corridors are now familiar to Tsurugi like a second home. After all, three years has already passed since his enrollment to Hogwarts. It still seems a bit unrealistic for him, whether it’s being able to study magic in Hogwarts, or reunite with his nee-san Yuuichi, or finally went back home. Just the thoughts of all the events made it hard for him to keep his calm face, his lip cured up into a tiny smile. He’s going to join the Quidditch team this year too, he was promised a position as a beater. It’s hard to admit, but he IS a bit excited about the new school year.
With all the thoughts flowing through his mind, he did not notice Kiku went missing until he stopped and turned around.
Tsurugi raised a surprise eyebrow, Kiku never leaves his side, NEVER, not even when he goes to the washroom. He called his name several times, but no answer nor any sign of Kiku. So where did he go?
Just before he’s about to search in the library, he heard a voice behind him, “hey, did you lose your cat?”
Tsurugi turned around
Killua stood with a cat with short legs snuggling comfortably in his arms. He'd always had an affinity with cats, seeing as he was rather cat-like himself, and somehow... Things like this seemed to happen often. It honestly wasn't his fault that cats seemed to especially like him for some reason... This particular one had just suddenly run up to him and jumped into his arms. He wondered if it might be because he was carrying treats with him for his own cat at the moment.
Talking about his own cat... Sno was circling Killua's legs, making very annoyed sounds at the cat that was in his arms. She was bigger than Kiku, an average sized cat. Her fur, however, was just as fluffy as Killua's hair looked.
He hoped the person in front of him was indeed the smaller cat's owner. Killua didn't really like it when Sno got annoyed with him.
001//introduction [open]
Well, she thought the clothes would be obvious enough… But not everybody was that knowledgeable about the school as she was. After all, it was her dream to enter after all. Anyways, she looked at the younger male and he was waaaaay shorter than she was. But anyways, he offered to help so why not.
“I’m from the Gryffindor house, Killua,” she answered with a smile on her face. Already she was proud of herself for being sorted into this house. After all, wizards like Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley were from this house!
“You’re from the Slytherin house aren’t cha?” Touko observed his clothes and uniform. Yep, it was definitely a lot more different than hers. In fact, it looked a lot more darker than what she was wearing.
Ah, so he'd been right with which house she was from. But it'd been better to ask rather than just assume. Some people could get rather touchy with the subject of houses, after all.
"Yup, that's where I'm from!"
He wasn't particularly proud of his house. He knew a lot more about it and the school than he let on since he actually did do quite a bit of reading if he was feeling bored and lazy. He knew what kind of people came from this house, but he also knew he was quite different from them if the time called for it. His friends had changed that for him.
But well, back to the matter at hand...
"Hmm well, Gryffindor's dorm, huh..." He thought for a moment with a small frown on his face. "Well, I can't be sure, since Sytherins aren't exactly very welcome with Gryffindors, but your dorm's probably on the seventh floor somewhere..."
He glanced at the other's luggage and bags. Well, if he was being friendly right now, might as well go all the way. He shot her a questioning look. "Need some help getting up there, or are you fine...?"
open;; oops
Killua wandered along the corridors, having decided to take a walk while procrastinating on his homework. School hadn't even started that long ago and the teachers were already starting to pile the homework on... It was nice that he had at least a bit of free time to walk around like this, though.
He yawned and stretched, but in the process accidentally bumped into someone lightly.
The instincts he'd gotten from the extensive assassin training he'd gone through for almost the whole of his life caused him to immediately tense up and quickly move his gaze onto the stranger, backing up a step.
It was only after about a second after his instinctive preparation for battle that he realised this kind of reaction probably wasn't needed in a place like Hogwarts. Or at least, not now, when he still didn't have any enemies yet.
He relaxed from whatever stance he'd been in, laughing sheepishly in hopes of brightening the weird atmosphere that had settled around them.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you! The name's Killua."
001//introduction [open]
Leaving Nuvema Town for Hogwarts was only something Touko had desired in her dreams and only happened in them. The moment she got the letters she packed up and left while bringing only Snivy with her. Her mother was also delighted at this news and let her daughter go on to fulfill her dreams.
Upon arriving Hogwarts she had received her information about which year, which house, and dorm she would be in. So the Gryffindor house huh? Well, there were some rather famous wizards that came out from that house and Touko was beyond delighted that was the Sorting Hat assigned her to Gryffindor!
However, she had no idea how to go to her dorm. So here she stood, in the middle of nowhere attempting to get some help. Some people she called on blatantly ignored her. She puffed her cheeks slightly before turning to the Snivy on her shoulders and sighing. Well, the next person who came by didn’t have the fortune of Touko tolerating them.
“Hey can’t you help a girl out or somethin’?! Geez all I want to know is how to go to my dorm! Is it really that hard to get some attention here?” She called out to the next passing person. Sure it wasn’t the most polite thing to do here but she lost her patience already with people pretending she didn’t exist. “Sorry that was quite rude of me wasn’t it? I’m Touko and you are…?”
Damn it. Was she referring to him? That wasn't a very nice way of asking for help...
He continued to look at her with an irritated look on his face, debating on whether he should lend her a hand. He could use the time he'd spend helping her to do something at least slightly more productive, like work on his homework, maybe...
Her introduction inturrupting his thinking, and he sighed. Seems like he'd spent too long thinking and if he walked away now, he'd be the rude one. Well, might as well help, in that case.
Yes, it was rather rude of you, were the words that he wanted to say first and foremost in response, but he opted for something else. "I'm Killua," he said simply, dropping the irritated look on his face to switch to something just a slight bit more friendly. "What house are you in?" he asked, though judging by the colour of her clothes, it was pretty obvious.
