There was nothing quite like the feeling of riding through the open air. Fubuki could do this all day, just ride around the Quidditch pitch aimlessly. (The Keeper hoops were a lot larger than he thought they would be.) But the feeling of the wind in his hair was refreshing, the kind of rush that he got when he went skiing, but multiplied by maybe 10. Probably closer to 20.
It was a shame, because Atsuya would’ve loved this freedom. If he’d had the chance.
Fubuki heaved a sigh at the though, slowing down to circle over the center of the pitch. Atsuya never got the chance to fly like this; he would’ve loved it though. They would’ve thrown whatever they had around them - sticks and stones - in a game of mock Quidditch. Those sure were the days.
By the time he snapped out of his reverie, he was already making circles around the goal posts, slowly but surely making a sweeping figure 8 motion around them. The sky was just beginning to show overtones of orange, and as tempted as he was to hang around to watch the sunset, homework and the common room were still calling him. And besides, there was someone…
There was someone down there?
Fubuki flew low against the ground, hopping off his broom while he was still hovering a few feet above the ground.
“I’m sorry, did you need to use the pitch? I didn’t mean to spend all that time not doing anything, I just got a little bit carried away with my thoughts there.”
Komaeda aimlessly wandered around the school, noticing a figure flying the skies. Yes, most likely a student... Hm, they were going fast. A skilled player, perhaps? How fascinating! They seemed to be alone, as well. They wouldn't mind if Komaeda watched and admired their flying... well, they may, but Komaeda would just explain he was curious!
He walked down to the pitch, arms curled around himself as he gazed at the boy. Yes, a boy... he looked quite a few years younger than Komaeda, but much better at flying! Komaeda had never gotten the hang of flying, not after he had been banned from participating in it due to his lack of good health. Not that he minded, though! He would've most likely only held his own team back. It was better that he wasn't allowed to play.
The figure moved closer, and closer, until the boy dropped to the ground. He seemed kind, his voice welcoming. Oh, and he was so cute! No doubt, he was a wonderful student and a pinnacle of ho--
"No, no!" Komaeda grinned, head spinning. He loved meeting new people, especially ones that promised him great potential. "Carry on! I was just fascinated, you know. Such a young person like you, yet with so much passion already!"
