personal behaviour

when watching jongin’s behaviour when he’s comfortable, he seems a lot less…how do i explain this? it’s as if expectations are that he’ll be completely serious all the time, but when he’s off screen, off the ‘performing-mode’, he becomes a lot more human. i know many people say that he’s a kid - but saying he’s a kid isn’t really accurate. he’s still young, still playful, but he knows hard work and responsibility. so, apart from that he’s fooling around, he knows his limits. personally, though, i think jongin is a pretty calm, although a fun and cheerful person to be around. he has a lot of positive energy and he’s hard-working. apart from that he holds the place as visual - the sexy, cool kai, and that’s only one part of his whole persona. jongin has mentioned that he gets nervous under pressure - which is completely normal, when he knows what he’s acting out, performing, he’s sure of it. when he’s not, he might do mistakes (again, he’s human!). jongin isn’t another person under the name kai. he’s the same person, with different shades. when he smiles and when he acts or speaks freely - that’s the jongin behind the camera - who’s in his comfort-zone.

kyungsoo - oh, soo - this is going to be hard for me, because he’s my ultimate bias since forever, and i have such warm thoughts of him. anyhow, lately, there’s also this thing about kyungsoo being the cold guy, not the cute and bubbly one he’s claimed to be. even here, i think both parts are wrong. there is no person in the world who can’t get hurt or scared, neither someone who can have a one-way-tracked personality. kyungsoo is a ball of fluff when he’s happy, when he’s comfortable and when he feels like it. he did say he’s shy and not quite open - but that does not mean he’s brushing people off (especially not jongin!). he has also told why - and that reason is something similar to fright, a certain uneasiness that puts him on his guard. kyungsoo in front of the camera is confident now - but he used to be a bit nervous, a little too new to the world of fame. nowadays, he’s strong on stage, he knows just as jongin what he’s doing. kyungsoo is himself all the time - reserved or comfortable depending on whom he’s with and where he is. it’s a question about the emotions - feeling safe or feeling a bit out of it.

i have one thing to say first of all. jongin trusts kyungsoo, and kyungsoo trusts jongin, almost blindly - that’s obvious. they have a relationship that goes very deep down, and that’s one of the reasons why kyungsoo allows jongin to be near, whenever, however. the comfort-zone-thingie - kyungsoo is comfortable around jongin. especially him. and jongin knows this, that’s also why he feels like he belongs when they’re together. regardless of if you ship kaisoo or not, you can’t deny their connection. and when it comes to my personal opinion, as a full-blooded kaisoo shipper, i think their bond means a bit more than what their bonds to any other member does. it’s obvious with the way they look at each other. there’s always a distant gleam in their eyes, and they always, always keep track on one another by observing. it’s practically staring and the fact that they don’t bother being observed by the other proves a lot.

another thing that’s very noticeable is the reactions to one another. they’re always smiling, or sharing whispers that no one else hears - another proof of their closeness. they talk both with and about each other in a soft way, gentle and lightheartedly, lovingly and teasingly. jongin follows kyungsoo around, and they share waterbottles and jokes like it’s the most natural thing (and it is). not to mention that they have shared dorm and bed (edit: is rumoured). you must be pretty close to someone to sleep beside them.

there has also been a lot of posts saying kyungsoo does not care for jongin the same way jongin cares for him. that is a lie. kyungsoo does always keep a snack with him for jongin, he cooks for him whenever he’s hungry, and he goes outside to get him painkillers regardless of the time (idk if that’s rumoured or not). they share mutual concern, mutual care, and if one isn’t feeling well, the other probably won’t either. there is no one who can feel good when someone you hold dear suffers. kyungsoo was there when jongin hurt himself, helped him walk and jongin leaned on him for support. jongin was there to give confidence and encourage kyungsoo when his voice cracked and he lost his self-belief for a while. kyungsoo was there to help with jongin’s mic, jongin soothing nervousness with his touch. apart from that, they keep sharing squeezes, smiles, pats and wiping of tears.

another thing that is obvious is jongin’s posessiveness/protectiveness. he keeps kyungsoo close to him, and he doesn’t hesitate to drape an arm around him. this shows everyone that kyungsoo lets jongin act that way with him - approves of it even, and enjoys the other’s presence. jongin does also willingly reproach and accept when kyungsoo leans over to touch him. it’s as if there’s something between them that they always do - and even in a way revealed to the fans - that’s true.

there’s also way too many not-so-subtle moments of tiny snippets of love, and oh, the sexual tension at times. public display of affection isn’t really uncommon between them.

so

what i just spoke of is kaisoo’s interactions while they either don’t think of it, or disregards that they are in public. they either ignore that people are watching them, or they are too much in their own world to bother. off-screen, though, i happen to think that it’s even more intense. i think that the two of them are able to be as close to one another as they want to without being troubled by other members or their opinions. also, kaisoo spends a lot of free time together, which allows them to snuggle up with each other and just completely be themselves.

i think, behind the scenes and away from the limelight, kaisoo can be themselves.
