Basic info about mom of the year:
Born and raised in California, her mother from Colombia and her father being second generation from Ireland
While her mother spoke English a lot so she herself could practice, she made it a point to teach Sandra Spanish, and she is fluent in her mother’s native language
Sandra is 5′, and weighs 135lbs though a lot of it is muscle because she works out nearly every day and eats extremely well
Although she has an extremely positive outlook on things, she suffers from a mild case of anxiety due to her son’s life style, his overall health complications, and has always been afraid for her son’s safety after giving birth to him as she almost died during labor, and her son was born extremely prematurely
Her husband is often away at work since he hates taking work home, and would prefer having his weekend free for his wife.
Sandra is extremely open minded given her son is trans, has shown interest in people of all genders, and is autistic.
She is fluent in ASL as she was the one who originally taught her son when she found out he was autistic, and wanted him to have a way to communicate with them when he went non vocal.
That said, she also taught him Spanish Sign Language as to get him accustomed to Spanish as well
She’s very talented in making vegan food, and has her own little following on in.stagram because of her vegan takes on spanish recipes her mother taught her
She also does a lot of crafting and sells some things on an e/tsy account. She mostly crotchets things for other moms who want to support their LGBT+ children, and also makes cute little vodka cozies
