Yeah! Yeah, definitely. [Kira smiles, feeling more at ease with Lucy.]
Hi, Kira! [Lucy brightens up when Kira comes to sit next to her. She shrugs a little bit, still smiling.] Well, I love to be around my friends! But I am not really a big partier, and I don’t drink. Well, I never have, and…before I met everyone, I had never been to a party before, or anything like that! But the soda is good! You aren’t drinking, either? [There is a hopeful tone to Lucy’s voice; she’s excited by the prospect of just getting to hang out and chat with Kira.]
Oh, no! My parents would kill me if I came home drunk. [She’s glad to not be the only one not drinking tonight. It’d be fine, but still sort of awkward. She prefers to stay sober, and get home safe.]
[Shyly, Lucy makes her way to the kitchen to get a soda. She walks into the living room, waving and saying hi to everyone as she does, before finding a seat on the couch.]
[Kira, despite now being used to the.... pack, is still not a party animal. She has no idea what to do, or where to stand, which leads to awkward standing around. She finally decides to sit on the couch, at least, and makes her way over to it. She sees Lucy sitting there, and gives her a smile as she sits next to her.] Hey. Not your scene, either?

Kira: Yeah, of course!
ooc. so, activity will be spotty/almost nonexistent this weekend. i just got out of dance practice, and i'm dancing tonight. then i'm dancing three times tomorrow, so who knows when i'll be home. as always, feel free to keep me company!! (pls do.)
I don’t know her. [Allison’s voice is honest; she knows about Leah, to some degree, but she doesn’t know her as a person, so she’s in no position to say whether or not she likes her.] Leah is originally from Beacon Hills; she’s Boyd’s sister. Do you know Boyd? When they were little, Leah was kidnapped by Jennifer– Miss Blake. She was using her, and using her magic. Leah was working with her, in a way, but I’m not sure how much she understood, or how much was on purpose. I can’t hold something against her or judge her on that. And I don’t know her, otherwise.
It really does, doesn’t it?

Let’s go do something totally normal and non-supernatural-related. Netflix binge?
[Kira listens, the pieces slowly coming together. Leah’s been with the same person who’s been making them miserable all summer. And it sounds like they haven’t gotten to know her. Kira wonders if Leah feels the same way about them; she wonders if the girl is okay.] I understand. If Blake was using her, then I’m really glad she’s okay. No one deserves that.

No, that much is definitely true. Leah is…a druid, I guess. [She is, isn’t she? Leah wouldn’t classify as a darach, too; at least, Allison doesn’t think she would. Leah has been quiet, kept mostly to herself, and Allison understands why. After what she went through, and acclimating to a new life– her old life– all over again…none of it can be easy. Allison understands why she might need space to figure things out.]
Yeah. Katie is a witch. I don’t think she’d mind me telling you; honestly, I think she wishes she could tell more people. She loves being witch.
Hey, no, it’s okay. This is a lot. I understand. Take all the time you need, okay? I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to overwhelm you.
[Allison gets back up, placing the bestiary back onto her desk. She picks up another book for good measure and places it on top of the bestiary, as though to demonstrate to Kira that they’re done with that for now.] How about that coffee now? And some totally normal stuff.
Oh. That... that actually makes sense. [Kira’s researched those, too. Not as much as other stuff, but she knows a little bit.] ...You don’t like her?
I’m glad. It actually seems to fit her.
No, no – it’s not your fault. I thought I was ready to close the book on this, but it was a lot more than I thought it was.
Coffee and totally normal stuff would be great.
I understand. [Allison wonders about her parents not believing Kira. If they were supernatural, and it was genetic, they’d have told her when she asked, wouldn’t they? That means they can at least possibly rule that out.]
Leah? [Allison’s brows raise in surprise.] Oh. …That…actually makes sense. You said she was able to help you. What happened, exactly?
Maybe the wolf that attacked you triggered whatever this is. That can happen, sometimes. Katie saw this? [Allison smiles.] She probably loved it. Anything close to a dog, she loves. But Katie can help you, too, if you want.
I’m glad. If you need anything, or if you need to just take a break and do something more normal, I understand. We can always do that, too. But for now… [Allison gets up and retrieves the bestiary from her desk.] This is the Argent bestiary. Every supernatural anyone in my family has ever met is in this book. We’re still working on translating it, but I think we might be able to find something out in here.
I got angry while I was walking, and... I ended up blowing all of the streetlamps. Leah said whatever I did took out the circuits, and the glass kind of shattered as a result. The glass came down on us, and she used her magic to stop it, so it fell around us instead of on us. I ran into her again a few days later, and we talked. All she knew for sure was that we weren’t the same thing.
She did. And I think she did. [Kira smiles. Katie really is a sweet girl.] She can? Wha... is she something else, too?
[Kira stares at the book, suddenly feeling sick. It feels weird: for weeks, for months, she’s been trying to figure out what she is. It’s been all that she could think about, but suddenly... suddenly, she isn’t so sure.] I can’t do this. [Pale, she looks back up at Allison.] Not... not yet, at least. I’m sorry, but this is a lot for one day, and I don’t... I’m not ready yet.
It’s definitely cool, but it’s also definitely something that it might be a good thing to figure out how to control. Have you talked to anyone else about this? Your parents?
Someone else was there? Do you remember who?
[Accepting the phone from Kira, Allison studies the picture. The outline around Kira almost looks like an aura, and it looks a lot like…] …A fox. [She looks back up at Kira.] The aura around you. Does this happen whenever you take pictures? [Handing the phone back to Kira, Allison nods in agreement.] I think you’re right, Kira. You’re not a werewolf; at least, not as far as I know. I’ve never seen this happen when a werewolf takes pictures; usually, their eyes just flare. But…I don’t think you’re human, either.
Are you okay?
I know this is a lot to deal with, especially all at once like this. But I might be able to help you figure out what you are, if you want.

Sometimes. I don’t take a lot of pictures, and I definitely didn’t after the attack. But when I tried, maybe a month ago, the pictures started coming out like that. I kept trying, to see if it would change, but it’s been like that. Katie called it a fox, too.
Yeah! Yeah, I’m... kind of? I’m still trying to wrap my mind around all of it. But I think I’m okay.

[Allison watches in amazement as the light bulb glows to life under Kira’s fingertips. It holds it’s light for a few seconds before eventually fading back out again. Allison turns the lights back on and steps closer to Kira.]
Kira, that was amazing.
Do you know how you did that? [Derek had been right; Kira was something. But she, unlike Lydia, at least seemed to have some idea of that.] You took out streetlamps? Something tells me that wasn’t on purpose.
That would be awesome, actually. I never got to thank her.

Not... really? It sort of just... happens. I can control it now, better than I could before, but I don’t really know how I do it. I want it to happen, and I guess I could of... reached out to the circuits?
And, no, it wasn’t. I got angry with my parents and somehow shattered all of the lights on the street. I was lucky that someone else was there. She protected both of us from getting hurt by it. [Kira pulls out her phone, unlocking it and goes to the pictures. She reaches the album of recent pictures she’d taken of herself, her own visage almost unrecognizable in the mass of yellow. Hesitantly, she hands the phone to Allison to see.] I don’t think I’m a werewolf, but I don’t think I’m human, either.
We were trying to. Thank you, Kira.
No, not at all. [Allison gets to her feet and walks towards the light switch, stopping before she turns the lights off and looking back over at Kira.]
…It seems crazy, but I think I might know her. Do you think you’d remember her if you saw her again? She might be able to remember more about what happened that night.
[Allison flicks the lights off, waiting for what Kira was going to show her.]
You do? Maybe. Probably. Do you really think she could?
[When the lights are off, Kira hesitates. What if it doesn’t work this time? What if she freezes up, now that it’s time to show someone, and looks like an idiot? What if... well, she won’t know if she doesn’t try. She turns to the nightstand not far from her, where a lamp is. She carefully takes the shade off, and reaches towards the light bulb.]
[Light fully lit and electricity snapping beneath her fingertips, she pulls her hand away. A little under a minute later, the light goes out. She looks back to Allison.] ...That was lame, but I thought the lightbulb was better than taking out all of the streetlamps... again.
Thanks. [Allison’s smile is one of relief, and she almost feels like a weight lifts a bit when Kira says that. She does her best to do those things, to stay calm and level-headed, and to keep a balance, for other people. She doesn’t want anything in return for it, but it makes her feel good to know that it does help. She’s glad that it does. She wants to do that; she wants to do the right thing.]
Thank you, Kira. Really. Thank you. I’m sorry, too. And we would never, ever hurt anyone if we could keep from doing it. We want to help people. We never want to have to hurt anybody. I said that my family was one way, but I had changed things. My family used to operate under a specific code, and the main part of it was that we hunt those who hunt us. But that’s not our code anymore. My code– our code– is that we protect those who cannot protect themselves. Anyone who needs our help, human, werewolf, or another supernatural. We aren’t about hurting people. We’re about protecting them.
We are close. It’s…kind of amazing. Really amazing.

Brooklyn. Thanks. A friend of mine knows packs in New York. They think maybe they can find something out about it. [Allison looks down at her phone to send a message to Derek, then back up at Kira.] …I know a werewolf from Brooklyn. The girl who saved you; what did she look like? Do you remember? [It’s a crazy off-chance, but stranger things have happened. Especially in Beacon Hills.]
No, I believe you. You guys don’t strike me as power hungry killers. I wasn’t there, so I can’t say what was wrong or right. But if they were killing people, then someone had to stop them. You did the right thing. You were protecting everyone.

Um— [Kira doesn’t know what to start with: the phone or the lights.] Do you mind if I turn off the lights?
Not really. I couldn’t see her that well. I just remember blonde hair. And I think... her eyes were blue. Or maybe it was the werewolf. It — I’m sorry, I don’t know.
That’s probably true. Already being curious about it probably makes it a little easier to believe. Still, you’re handling this really well.
They were…stopped. [Allison takes a deep breath.] Do you remember that big storm towards the end of summer? Jennifer– Miss Blake– is the one who caused that. She also did something to Cora; she was in the hospital, and it was killing her. And she kidnapped our parents. Mine, Scott’s, and Stiles’s. She was planning on sacrificing them. We were looking for our parents, and we split up into groups. One group ran into Miss Blake, and another ran into that werewolf. There was a fight, and it ended when…they were both killed.
It does?
[Allison smiles a little.] Weapons. Mostly archery. …Do you want to see?

...Oh. [That means something, too. While Kira was figuring out what she was, to absolutely no avail, Allison and her friends — no, her pack — were fighting for their lives. And they had to take lives, too.] Allison, I... I’m sorry you had to deal with that.
