"Ah, hello!" Leanne is excited to see a fellow laguz, and a vulpine one at that! He's almost certainly not from tellius, she's never heard tell of a fox laguz, but there is still a connection between them that she feels wholeheartedly. "I am Leanne, of the heron tribe. May I ask your name?"
Kaden’s eyes widened in shock, attention instantly drawn to the wings. “Whoa, you have wings?! I didn’t know humans could do that!” All concept of keeping a respectful distance flies out the window, the kitsune taking a step forward and titling his head back and forth to get a better look. Without touching, of course. That would be rude. Maybe this is how humans feel when they see a kitsune like him for the first time? “Haha. Weird.”
His tail wags softly in amusement at the new perspective, mortified realization hitting him a few seconds after. His ears pinned themselves down to his head in distress as he jumped back, waving his hands in an apologetic panic. “Wait, that came out wrong. You don’t look weird, that’s not what I meant! You’re very pretty, miss! I— Ugh, I’m sorry.”
Kaden looks down in embarrassment and guilt. That was… NOT his finest moment. He can only hope she wasn’t too insulted. Ears still slightly downturned, Karen’s attitude flips in an instant, happy grin back on its place. “Lemme try that again. Hi! I’m Kaden, of the beautiful kitsune tribe! Pleasure to meet you, Leanne.”
“That’s because I’m not a human, heehee!” Leanne giggles, raising a hand playfully to her mouth. This “kitsune” (is that the word for laguz, in his land?) is quite cute, she must admit, flustering and trying oh so very hard to respect her in his excitement. “Do you like my wings? You can look at them more, if you’d like.”
“I like your tail and ears. You look quite beautiful, yourself!” Leanne is telling the truth! Kaden is quite the dandy individual, dressing himself well and keeping his fur and hair perfectly groomed. She’s certain he turns heads wherever he goes, if not just for his reactions! “Do not worry about a thing. People who have not met heron laguz before often have this sort of reaction. Are there not members of the bird tribe, where you’re from?”
‘Not human…?’ …Oh. Oh. OOOOHHHH. “Yeah, that would explain it.” Kaden laughs shaking his head at his own mistake, relief flooding him at the realization she isn’t offended. Even after (what is in his mind) a nightmare of a first impression, no less. Man, this bird lady is forgiving.
His ears perk up upon the word ‘beautiful’, and he straightens his posture proudly. “You have good taste! Haha, yep, I am quite beautiful. Glad you noticed. Though, it’d probably be hard not to with this amazing fur I have here.” His tail wags behind him ever so slightly as he attempts to hold still for a pose, but that’s boring so he quickly gives it up, his tail swaying happily from being acknowledged the way he deserves at full power.
“I’ve seen a lot of stuff in my travels, but you are DEFINITELY a new one. In a good way, though! …Unless these ‘heron laguz’ have all been hiding from me, but who would wanna do that? Haha… Man, if I wasn’t already so nice and shiny, I’d be jealous of your wings for sure! SUPER impressive light catching you got there. How do you maintain those things so well?”
