Do you have any tutorials on removing text from a gif? And one on how to change eye colour? I'm trying to make a gif of Claire Holt as a werewolf with red eyes and can't find a decent tutorial, but first I need to get rid of the caption in the gif.

It depends where your watermark/text is because sometimes this won’t work.

ever wondered how to put pattern effects on stuff? this is how i do them. :P (using paint tool SAI)

*other colors will change the color of your shape. tip: brownish patterns will give your shape an antique/vintage/old effect. orz i fail at explaining haha

This effect is simple to achieve. Like anything done in Photoshop, there are probably more ways to achieve the pastel look. But this is how I did it and how you can do it too. This will not work on most gifs because of the lighting in each scene. It’s not impossible but it’s much harder to get a really nice look to the gif.

how to redirect ‘/ask’ to your faq page

It can be frustrating sometimes when people go on to your blog and want to ask you a question but rather than going to your linked faq/ask page they go directly to yoururl.tumblr.com/ask this is a simple solution to that problem.

Add this somewhere between <head> and </head> in your code:

You can see this in action by adding /ask on to the end of my url here

this is called the absolute navigation page bc it is ABSOLUTE. actually i intended for it to be a lot cuter but i got lazy and impatient. anyway, the reason it’s absolute is because it’s an about page, a links page, and an ask page all in one, but it looks super simple and clean. so basically you don’t need a ton of links on your blog, you can just link to this one page with everything on it. i didn’t set up a preview page because it’s not necessary. the code is also super simple to edit, just read through it, and if you still can’t figure it out you can ask just about anyone on tumblr with a bit of html know-how and they can help you.

to use it just copy one of these codes

then go to tumblr.com/customize and scroll down to where you can add a new page to your blog. in the page settings select the custom html option, and then paste the code. then edit it as much as you like and fill it with all your tags and links and your life story.

add lace/banner to any theme tutorial

tutorials like this probably exist but, if you want something like this on your blog

the first thing to do is copy and paste this code just below the <body> tag in your theme. 

then the parts you’ll wanna adjust are

height: (depending on how tall your banner is) opacity: (depending on how transparent you want the banner to be) background:url(‘http://yourimage’): replace the url in the quotes with the url of the image you want

and for some themes you may have to adjust

margin-top: (the smaller the number is the higher it’ll move) margin-left: (the smaller the number is the further left it’ll move)

for the margins, note that you can use negative numbers as well as positive numbers, like margin-top:-50px; and so on.

as with all my mini codes, this code will work on all my themes. but since i don’t know how other people code their themes i can’t guarantee that it will work with 100% of the themes on tumblr. most of the time it should work though : )

“i miss when tumblr themes were simple, actually they kind of looked like myspace layouts haha ugh i’ve been up since 4am thinking about how many times anime has hurt me” theme… but its nickname can be “quiet theme”. too lazy to list the customisation options so that last photo lists them all. only theme i’ve ever made with a search bar included.
