Wedding Welcome Bags
What brought you to the wedding industry?
I was learning to screen print and decided to create the welcome bags for my own wedding. I screen printed the state of Vermont and hand stamped a heart over the wedding location. I continued to work on my screen printing and eventually opened an Etsy shop. Then, I created a website where I sold my handmade products that included wedding welcome bags. Now I focus solely on wedding welcome totes that I design and screen print. Alongside my totes, I offer a selection of locally crafted, small batch, handmade products from other small businesses to use as wedding welcome bag gifts and/or favors.
Why is your product, space, service perfect for couples planning their wedding? What sets you apart?
We pride ourselves in offering couples an easy solution to wedding welcome bags. We strive to offer the best customer service and transparency so our customers know exactly what to expect. We offer a range of welcome bag gifts that are USA made, locally crafted, handmade so our couples know they are supporting small, local businesses all while gifting exceptional products to their wedding guests. Our couples love the ability to customize their welcome bags with colors, text, bags sizes, and anything more they can dream up.

At Chancey Charm, we’re huge fans of classic wedding designs with timeless details + elements of your style and personality tied in. One of our favorite ways to make a classic wedding design more personalized is by getting to know our couples and their unique love story. Doing this really allows for the opportunity to create an ambiance that truly reflects a bride and her groom. Chancey Charm’s wedding planners were featured on SheFinds.com sharing tips on accentuating your wedding design with personality, and we thought it would be fun to dive in even further below. Enjoy!

6 Easy Ways To Tie Your Personality Into Your Wedding Design
Set the tone with your save the dates and carry it through to your thank you cards. As your printed materials like your save the date and wedding invitation are the first impressions guests will have of your upcoming wedding and reception, start the creative process there! Think about how these items can be a reflection of your shared style as a couple. Brie Owens, Chancey Charm Atlanta Wedding Planner, shares some of her favorite ideas to help get the creative juices flowing: a watercolor map or hand-drawn illustration of the place you met or got engaged, using verses/lyrics/quotes that are meaningful to you and your fiancé, or having a custom family crest or “wedding logo” made featuring your favorite things (even your pets). Don’t forget to tie your design into your ceremony program, escort cards, signage, and thank you cards as well, to bring your vision full circle!
Cheers with a signature cocktail. Chancey Charm Houston Wedding Planner, Skylar Caitlin, recently worked with a couple who wanted a classic wedding design, but with little pops of personality. One of the most popular ways to do so is a signature cocktail! Whether you opt for two “his” and “hers” options or just one signature drink, make it reflect you and your story. And then take it one step further by giving it a meaningful name! They named their two cocktails after their pups, but you could also pick a family member’s name to honor, the name of a city that’s important to you both, or anything else that speaks to your love story!
Get creative with your wedding guest book. Gone are the days where your guest book has to actually be a book! Alana Futcher, Chancey Charm Charlottesville Wedding Planner, loves helping her couples find ways to tie personal aspects into their wedding design. One of her couples loved to surf, so it was only fitting that their guest book was actually a surfboard. Their guests got a kick out of signing it and the couple was so excited to display it in their house as a reminder of their wedding, shared passion, and love. If there’s not an item that necessarily speaks to both you and your fiancé, consider something that can be a piece of artwork for your home like a special print, canvas, painting, map, etc.

Honoring the love stories of your friends and family members. Jyl Deering, Chancey Charm Boston Wedding Planner, worked with a couple who asked every married couple coming to their wedding to send them their personal favorite wedding photo. They then showcased all these beautiful wedding photos throughout their cocktail hour. It brought a smile to every guest’s face to see their own wedding photo, and it got people talking to one another and sharing their stories! It was a great way to get guests mingling!
Say thank you in a more personal way. One of Chancey Charm San Diego Wedding Planner Lauren Weidley’s couples thoughtfully had hand written letters to each guest made before the wedding. The envelopes containing the letters served as their place cards! They were gorgeous and hand lettered by a friend of the couple. It was amazing and so personal! It definitely took time to plan and coordinate with RSVPs, but what an incredible and intentional way for each and every guest to feel like a huge part of your day!
Make your menu unique and memorable. Food is another favorite way to add some personality in to your wedding! Talk to your caterer about fusion menus that blend together multiple cultures’ cuisines. Do you have a favorite meal you love to cook or eat together? Share that with them – they might be able to recommend something as a nod to you and your fiancé. Bring in your favorite comfort foods (or snacks) after a night of drinking and dancing, or a fun dessert station like frozen bananas or a churro cart. And don’t forget about foodie favors for your guests! We once had a bride and groom, who along with most of their guests, were both huge coffee lovers. They blended together their favorite types of coffee in custom designed organza bags, creating a signature blend for all their guests to enjoy.

If you’re anything like me, you love the idea of being in business for yourself — with the freedom and flexibility to focus on your family and simply do the work you love. Whether you’re new to the creative industry or an established brand looking to expand your team, we all have two pain points in common: team growth and sales! I had so much fun getting to share the following at a TuesdaysTogether Atlanta Chapter meet up for our Rising Tide Society group.
Let me take you on a little journey. In Chancey Charm’s first year, I made only $1,300 (insert face-palm here). We all have to start somewhere, right?! Three years later, Chancey Charm earned over six figures in sales and today I have 13 successful locations and over a dozen planners under our brand! I’m incredibly blessed to share my dream with our growing team of wedding planners across the country. It’s my prayer that Chancey Charm can give them the flexibility and freedom I was pursuing in launching my own business.
The Lord has been tugging at my heartstrings to share this team growth journey of mine (the good and the bad) and the secret to my success! And, It’s from a desire to educate and help others build profitable wedding businesses, that I decided to launch a few wedding industry education tools.
The BEST thing I have done in just over six years in the wedding industry is building a healthy team. Yes, team growth!
I learned early on that I would be more successful and save myself a lot of time if I could delegate things I was not great at to those that were. Yes, I have struggled with how to do this and made many mistakes, but the freedom is well worth the cost.
Letting others participate and take ownership in Chancey Charm has propelled it much further than I could have alone. Having an incredible team, has given me valuable family time with my husband and son AND allowed me to do the things that I love in my business. I encourage you to think about one thing you could let go of today to gain back valuable family time. Odds are, that this will actually propel your growth, as you let someone else’s strength fill your weakness.

A unique, garden-inspired wedding
Skylar Caitlin from Chancey Charm Houston believes there are two things that make a wedding dreamy – a dream couple and incredibly thoughtful details. “Last September I had the pleasure of combining two for a dreamy Houston wedding weekend. We took subtle inspiration from the bride’s heritage to create an English flower garden inspired day. While the dance floor was kept alive by the couple’s favorite club DJ who spun unique mixes along with tried-and-true hits. One of my favorite details was a chic beetle illustration by Isidore and Augistine that was included throughout the weekend. From the invitations, to the signs directing guests across Rice University’s campus on the wedding day – the emblem brought a whimsical feel to a dreamy wedding weekend.”
The couple even chose the same venue that the Groom’s parents were married at nearly 40 years earlier. The Rice Memorial Chapel & The Rice University Faculty Club at The Cohen House.

An emotional vineyard wedding
Alana Futcher from Chancey Charm Charlottesville says every wedding is dreamy in it’s own way, but this one in particular was dreamy for being beyond heartfelt and special. “A few months before the wedding the mother of the bride passed away, but Justine has three brothers and one really amazing dad. The bride’s father came to me with the idea to make the room light up so Justine could dance under the stars like she always dreamed of doing as a little girl. We placed tea lights at each guests seat for them to hold in the air while they had their father-daughter dance. The bridal party held signs of enlarged pictures of Justine as a little girl and her mother. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Justine also incorporated other heartfelt details into her day in honor of her mother. She had a piece of her mother’s wedding dress sewn into hers with a quote from her mom. Her dad also surprised her with a locket containing a photo of her mom, that was placed on her bouquet. This wedding also took place at a super dreamy venue, and Chancey Charm favorite, Early Mountain Vineyards located right outside of Charlottesville. With a perfect blush and blue color palette, every detail was thoughtfully pulled together for these two.“
