it’s episodes like mac and dennis move to the suburbs that make me realize how bad sunny has been snubbed at award shows. yeah overall the show is great, so it’s surprising it hasn’t been more nominated/awarded in the general comedy category; but the acting itself is also just so full, and it’s moments like glenn in suburbs where i think Now This is Television.

the scene from the show that maybe most interested me and led me to actually look into the show wasn’t even a comedy bit, but the scene in the gang carries a corpse up a mountain where charlie’s crying over his dad’s bodybag. the show is not like that scene at All; that is a few and between raw and emotional moment for sunny. but the show is so filled with talented people, like charlie day, where they can switch from the stupidest of jokes to speeches like that so fast and so well. even before watching the show i would think to myself “they should give this guy an award post facto for that if they haven’t already”.

my probably favorite show of all time, arrested development, was also a sitcom and it received awards/noms left and right despite it’s original run being only 3 seasons spanning 3 years, making their award season time much smaller than sunny’s. now, do i think AD is a better show than sunny? yeah i do lol i do think its better (the original run). but a show spanning 21 years to have such a low number of major nominations and wins when it is so otherwise widely loved/praised and referenced in popular culture just feels disrespectful af like cmon man 😭😭😭LOL.

i should talk more about arrested development here. maybe i’ll rewatch it after i catch up on sunny. Maeby Funke you are a star and your director side arc is one of the funniest things ever to me. Oh my god that show is so good😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
