”Akatsuki no foufuku”(暁の報復/Revenge at Dawn) 1977 *Excerpt. Silent. (Created by Hiroshi Harada and Isao Okabe)
The last two shots are excerpts from the unfinished film at the time. (by Hiroshi Harada)
A small portion of "Akatsuki no foufuku," a collaborative work between Harada and his friend Okabe when Harada was 15 years old, has been discovered.
While this film is a collaboration with Okabe, the animation posted online is by Harada.
Before Harada knew of Marx, he created this work by imitating existing animations. Therefore, it lacks any ideological depth, and Harada says, "I didn't really want to release it. The drawings and techniques are crude; even 15-year-olds today can draw better."
At the time, there was very little information available about independently produced animations, so Harada and Okabe created this film by trial and error.
However, what it has in common with Harada's latest work is that, like "Gertie the Dinosaur," each drawing is hand-drawn on white paper with a pen.
postscript:
The order of some of the images was different in the Tumblr version, so we posted a corrected version on BlueSky. https://bsky.app/profile/kiyubaru.bsky.social/post/3mjrsdn7z5c2z
