Gina South does a lot of fashion photography which is what I aspire to do in the future. One of the first photo sets I saw was about feminine black men and I thought it was absolutely gorgeous.

My second photographer is Mary Ellen Mark. Her work with Tiny expanded over twenty years, starting from when she was a young teenager, to when she had her own family. I admire her dedication.

I found Signe Pierce on Tumblr and I adore his use of color and lighting. I recently found him and I'd love to look more into his work.

Annie Leibovitz is one of my all time favorite photographers. Her studio work is phenomenal and she inspires me to better my work all the time. I personally love that she’s a controversial figure as well. She’s gotten her work out there and has had a lot of media attention, which made her even more well known.

Eric Thayer is someone I’ve recently discovered due to the Baltimore riots. Since I’m from there, his work was EVERYWHERE. It was amazing to see things like that even though it was scary. Looking back, I wish I was there to take photos of the riots and fires, but I’m glad I wasn’t because it looked awfully dangerous.

For my final critique, I chose to focus on diversity of lips between gender and race. I chose these models specifically because they have diverse backgrounds, ranging from African American to Puerto Rican. All lips, regardless of gender and race, are shaped differently, and we express ourselves through different lip expressions.Â

Exposure.
For this assignment, I used the manual mode on my camera to get natural light to help with exposing my photographs.
I used the natural light in the background to make my subject darker, but also to help make her the central focus of the photo.
ISO- TEXTURE
I used ISO 100 and 400 for these photos.
