scope  //  renovation of an uninspired 90’s-era live/work loft to a contemporary design showpiece for the architect and his partner. every architect dreams of working on his/her own home, and this was my first opportunity to do so. project scope included everything… design, permitting, bidding, daily on-site construction management, schedule & cost tracking, as well as a majority portion of the daily labor. the project was a complete gut-job, everything was taken back to the studs and rebuilt… new kitchen layout and finishes, new bathroom finishes, new smooth plaster walls & paint, new concrete flooring, new lighting, new metal railing, and all other finish details. the hand-block printed draperies were sourced in india during extended travels taken in 2016. the home is a testament to the owner’s passion for great design and contemporary living. type  //  residential renovation location  //  san francisco, ca design team  //  kevin j short & kathryn heller status  //  complete year  //  2016 - 2017
