Rewatching X-Men Origins. And I gotta say, it's not a bad movie. It's like an alright movie with a lot of stupid unnecessary questionable choices.
And, well, has Logan's approach always been: "What if I cut your head off?"
He did it immediately to Sabretooth in Deadpool 3. He promised it to everyone he met in the Origins, Victor and Gambit of that humble universe included. And it kinda helped with the mouth-sewed and laser-eyed Deadpool there. Even if we'd like to forget this bit entirely.
So, here we go again, our precious the Worst Wolverine was ready to get the Deadpool prime beheaded with the same question "Can you fucking grow your head back?" before Wade used his little educated wish trick.
Logan obviously believes that it's gonna solve the problem, so I consider that he never got any kind of guillotine treatment for himself, since their healing factors are supposed to be all the same.
I like the thought that Logan in his more than 200 fucking years has always been cautious enough that he never got himself into any situation where he could lose a limb. He knows that he can heal but never needed to experiment with how much, because life gave him enough shit, like nuclear weapons, drowning, burning, being shot and stabbed, but all of these without the greatest: never lost any limbs before and couldn't really after adamantium treatment.
So, I really like to think and play with the circumstances where Logan cuts Wade's head off. And he feels awfully fucked up because he believes that it's the ultimate killing thing for anybody. But, of course, Deadpool can grow back from one drop of blood only, even if he doesn't want to, so it's not that easy to get rid of him forever. Thankfully.
But imagine the grief! The drama! The hurt! The angst!
Oh, I love me some old man's meltdown and emotional rollercoaster.
(P. S. You can think whatever you want about the earliest X-men movies, but actually they were able to set the mood like nothing else.)
