Our WiFi is really slow and is hard to watch anything on tv.

Weslee had 2 interviews today. Both went really well.

Michael is closing today so he’ll work until 7pm.

I’m exhausted. I don’t know which one is more exhausting, being at work or being at home all day with Joplyn. Today was an ok day. We had some discussions and some good times. There’s always an argument about everything. Not an easy child to please.

We did have some fun blowing bubbles.

Today wasn’t as hot as the last couple of days, the sun looked so very red and on my way to work I saw a fox crossing the street, such a skinny little thing.

The girl went to Peoria to explore, and even though she’s a girly girl, she liked farm equipment, who knew.

Work wasn’t too busy. I just get tired of the people complaining about everything and everyone. I’m not saying that they may be wrong but they make it worse for everyone. One of my coworkers has an interview coming up at the health department, if she gets that job, that’s more hours not been covered.

Now chill for a little while.

I found out that Lexy died yesterday 🙁😭 She had been living with Little Bit’s step mom at a farm so we haven’t seen her in a couple of years. Evidently she got some infection, got some antibiotics that didn’t help. She had a appointment at the vet on August 7th but left this earth before they could see her. Sleep tight my sweet grandbebe. Say hi to Elliot.

It’s super hot and humid and the cicadas are really loud. Corn sweat is real. I heard about it in Iowa but since we used to live in the middle of town and no corn very close, it never got too humid. I mean, maybe for the locals did, but coming from Arkansas, it wasn’t bad. But here we’re surrounded by corn north, south, east and west, there’s no escape. It’s ok.

Work was fine, steady mostly. Had a team meeting online with the other 2 hospitals. My 6 months can’t come soon enough. Cheyanne got interviewed for the clinic job, she has a good chance of getting it. I hope she does. Although that will be bad for me, that would leave me by myself on my second shift. David and I are at the cafeteria. The food was ok, not great and not too bad but 10.00 for both plates, you can’t beat that.

When I came home Weslee told me that Joplyn didn’t take a nap cause the air conditioner has been leaking and the guys who were going to work on it showed up right at the beginning of her nap. So she and Weslee went to bed about an hour ago.

Tomorrow’s my Friday! Then I’ll be off until Monday.

I’m exhausted!

Off today. Didn’t do absolutely anything. I worked the last two days. Tomorrow and Tuesday are my early days, have to be there at 6:30 am.

I really wanted to go to the pool today because it’s really hot but it was kind of overcast. There were many things I planned on doing, instead did nothing and took a nap. David grilled. Dealing with the little tornado is exhausting.

Have to go get ready to go to bed now.

It’s been a very long couple of days off. Joplyn has been acting up I’m sure because of the move. Two nights ago was really bad. Lots of kicking, hitting and taking back. Yesterday there was some of that but it wasn’t as bad. Today she has been better. I don’t think all the “gentle talking” is working very well but get whet what do I know. She likes to argue and she will not back down. I keep telling her that I’m not arguing, in telling her what to do or not to do. When she keeps telling me why (and I know she’s messing with me) I tell her because I say so. I really don’t know how to deal with a child talker that. My kids never behaved like that and when I was little, my mom would have thrown a chancleta at me 😂 actually we didn’t get spanked much and we behaved very well, we had respect for our elders.

Today I met David for lunch, we went to a Vietnamese restaurant that opened about a month ago, it’s pricey but it’s really good. Then I went to Walmart. I swear I’ll go somewhere else for the next months. They’ve been remodeling it for the last 3 or 4 months and keep moving things around. Whoever designed what they’re doing needs to be fired. What a mess. Some isles are way too skinny, 2 people with 2 carts can’t fit together. Some isles are too wide for no reason. On top of it they keep moving items so every time I go they’re in a different place 🙄

Yesterday I took Joplyn to see the cows and the cows are gone! Don’t know where they are. She did have a good time picking up some fox tails from the side of the road and saw how tall the corn is. Today when coming back from Walmart I drove to see if the cows are back but they’re still gone 🙁

Anyway, tomorrow back to work. We’ll see what this coming week will bring.

Topo Gigio aka the obnoxious neighbor is back 😭😭😭 he’s already being noisy. He and the rest of the family are back from wherever they went.

And here I was relaxing after a long week at work. Talking about work, we have a cafeteria. They serve breakfast and lunch and have ready to go food and snacks that people can get as a grab and go. I may buy lunch on Tuesdays, is really cheap. Today they had general tso’s chicken that was really good. I didn’t get the rice but got the broccoli and egg roll. All for 5.50. Can’t beat that. And it was really good.

Lastly Joplyn has been a lot, but that’s to be expected. She’s on time out right now because she was mean to her mom and has to stay in her room until the dad arrives.

Meanwhile, I only had about 3 hours of sleep last night so I’m running on fumes right now.

The little man went home. Michael came with the dog and cats. Then everybody went down to Arkansas. Michael came back with Weslee and Joplyn. David drove the truck. They finished unpacking it this morning. It’s a bit crazy but we’ll make it. Somehow.

Meanwhile while I sit on my front porch, it’s sunny but hazy because of the wildfires 😐

Work was a shit show on Friday. Literally. Yesterday was not bad.

The Indiana Fever got 2 wins back to back. The haters were saying they won the first game because they played a not so good team. Last night they beat a really good team, how’bout them apples? Btw, the first team is not bad, just a young team. The haters have been a bit quiet.

Im exhausted! In a good way!

Had some pool time yesterday then went to the movies to watch Moana. Everything was great although the movie theater is super old and the seats go down, making little ones hard to watch the movie. In the future we may have to seat closer to the screen.

Today we went to the Niobe zoo in the quad cities. We were not very impressed with it and the little man got bored very soon. We left before seen most animals. We did get a ride on the little train. We may have to go without little people maybe in the fall and see if we like it better. We also need to go to the zoo in Peoria and compare. On the way back we stopped at an ice cream place in a neighbor town to us because they’re known for some “whip” ice cream. I got one. 1st time I eat ice cream in a year. Now lots of water. I got vanilla with cheesecake. It was good!!!! I’ll have to take my blood sugar and see the damage 😐

My dollar general wildflowers are blooming finally. David said they’re really weeds 🤣 maybe, I don’t care.

It’s a beautiful day and we’ll try to go to the pool. Then we’ll go to the movie theater tonight to watch Mulana the real life version.

I didn’t get the job at the bank. I heard someone internally got it. I decided not to go for the other hours at my department because 1. I don’t want to drive late at night 5 days a week and 2. I don’t really want to work with the girl who works those five days as well. So, I guess I’ll stay put until I either have had my 6 months or something comes up somewhere else. It’s ok. It’s not the end of the world.

He loves going to the park. Honestly, why wouldn’t he? He barely ever goes anywhere but school and here we can walk to the park.

We had fun Sunday when we went to the Riverwalk museum. We thought they had dinosaurs skeletons and the little man was very excited about them. They didn’t as they change exhibits every so often. They had many other cool stuff but it was mostly for adults. He did have fun though. Also we didn’t know but the second Sunday of the month is free. I much rather pay, too many people.

Thursday I went to “the cities” as locals call the quad cities in Iowa/Illinois. Really I went to Davenport. I went to see if I could find some rugs for the kids bedroom. I found some but they’re a bit small. However, I did find Bob’s Discount Furniture and I went there just to see what they had and came out buying a table set which we need badly. They also have fantastic prices. They’ll deliver it sometime next month, which is fine as we’ve lived half a year without it.

Friday when I came out of my house to go to work I found out they blocked our street. Evidently they’ll have to do some sewage work on Monday. We can still get in and out on my side of the street. The other side is completely blocked.

Work was busy Friday. Yesterday I thought it was going to be busy as well but it wasn’t. I did have to stay later than I was supposed to. My coworker who comes in at 10:30 and works the third shift, didn’t show up. My other coworker had to call him. She said that sometimes he falls sleep on his chair. He’s really nice and I didn’t mind staying later, he felt really bad and was very apologetic. I just think, dude, if you know this happens to you, set up an alarm. If you’re awake and good to go, good. If not, it’ll help you not being late. But what do I know?

David met Andrew and the little man halfway somewhere in Missouri, the little man will be here until Friday. They stopped by my work when they came back here. The little man woke up at 5:30. David woke me up and went back to bed! I went to bed at around 1am. I’m not going to lie, I was pretty annoyed about it. He said he took a muscle relaxer last night 😑

I bought some flower seeds at the dollar general earlier this year. I planted some outside with no luck. The stupid squirrels kept eating all the seeds. So I decided to plant them in a pot and leave them on the porch. Now they’re ready to bloom. We’ll see how they do.

We’ll go today to the Riverfront Museum in Peoria, it looks interesting. I think I’ll like it. Not sure if the little man will or if he’s too young g for it but we’ll see. He wanted to go to an aquarium but there’s none close by. Maybe another time we can go to the Shed Aquarium in Chicago.

The dumbass next door cut the grass because they were going to celebrate one of the girls birthday. Then he keeps throwing everything in the dead pile of branches on the curve. No one is picking up that pile and it’s been there for a couple of months now. That house makes the street looks so much worse and of course is right next door to us.
