"I, uh, I draw and paint," she said, shifting a little so she was more comfortable. "Some of my work is featured at the gallery and in a few magazines, but nothing too special. I mostly do it just for fun and for myself." She looked up at him. "What about you? What do you do?"

Klaus waved off Jana's question about his profession, not because he didn't want her to know what he did for a living, but rather because he was far too preoccupied learning about the redhead next to him. 

"What kind of panting and drawing do you do? Are you more of a realist when it comes to your paintings? Or do you find yourself to be more of an abstract artist?"

Melody loved to receive that display of affection from her brother. Everything between them was different. He was her safe place, reason because she enjoyed when she could have his arms in her waist. She missed the times when they cuddled seeing movies a entire weekend. 

"You need some new clothes… " She said seeing to him and after laughed. "I know you have your own style, but seriously, I know that shirt since… 4 years ago?" Melody took his hand. "I will bring to you energy, but you need to talk with me on the breakfast…"

She closed the door of the office and began to walk down stairs. “So… What was the motive of the party last night?” She turned to see him: “A new conquer? I want to know…”

Klaus had never been a fan of telling his sister who he slept with, mostly that was because he, in fact, cared more about Melody than any of the women he bedded when she wasn't around. Gulping, he stretched, pushing the door open for Melody before making his way down the hall.

"No real motive. We've been making good money over the last month, and I was having a particularly good evening. I should have come to see you, and I'm sorry about that. But you know how life can be in this place. It sucks you in, and before you know it, you're waking up on the couch in your office with nothing but your underwear on."

Jana nodded, agreeing with his reassurement. Although she liked hiking and being outdoors, she was useless in search parties. “Well, Rachel is one of my friends. She’s nice, polite….we always seem to end up talking about my work somehow.” She looked up at Klaus as she said this. “I’m one of the artists over at the gallery in CitySpire.” She turned back and gazed down at her drink. “Anyway, we laugh and joke and have a good time and good conversations about the world. I just hope she’s okay…”

"An artist?" Jana had now piqued Klaus' interest. He'd always found creative women impressive, even if sometimes they were a bit self centered. Jana had every right to be really, she was beautiful and not in the usual sort of way. 

"What kind of art is it that you do?" He questioned, leaning in a little as he took another swig from his glass.

Jana wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to start drinking when Rachel was missing. But Klaus was right, she needed to try to relax. “I guess a drink would be nice. I mean, they already have search parties out, right? I can’t really do anything unless I want to get lost in the woods myself looking for her.”

Jana had to admit that him playing with her hair was comforting and his arm around her shoulders was making her relax, if only just. Maybe that was all she needed was just someone to be with her.

Klaus smiled warmly at the woman as she snuggled into his side. It seemed that Jana was far bigger a fan of the inside and a little attention than she was wandering aimlessly out in the woods. He wasn't going to fault her for it either, as it seemed he shared her sentiment. 

"You're right. There's really nothing that you and I could do to make her come back any faster." Klaus stated reassuringly, taking a swallow of his own drink before leaning back. 

"In the meantime, why don't you tell me about yourself... and of course Rachel."

"Not on me, no." Jana considered trying to draw her but she couldn’t focus enough to pick up a pencil. Instead she curled back up into his side as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "I know you said I need to relax but…I’m just having a hard time." She took another drink of her coffee but even that wasn’t settling her nerves. "What do you do to relax?"

"Well.."

Klaus' mind began to fill with the many things he actually did to fill his time, the majority of them being a little less than kosher. He chuckled, enjoying Jana's warm body next to his. Sure, it wasn't cool to take advantage of a woman in need, but if he showed her a little kindness, would it be such a bad thing?

"My ways of staying relaxed might be a little too risque for your tastes." He grinned, twirling a thatch of her red hair between his fingers. But booze was always a good start. Not too much, just enough to take the edge off."

Jana took the coffee gratefully before taking a sip. “Last night at the bonfire. Everyone was a bit…out of it. I think someone slipped something into the drinks. She’s about my height, blonde hair, blue eyes…kind…” She took another drink, doing her best to try and remember the night before. It was so hard and everything was a blur. She had no idea where she could have gone. “I hope she’s okay.”

"Do you have a picture of her? There are so many blondes affiliated with City Spire, it's almost impossible for me to put a face to that name."

Klaus sat next to Jana on the couch, his arm wrapped around her shoulder in mock comfort due to her situation. He hadn't remembered much about the night before either, but that was nothing new to Klaus, he had a pension for booze and anything else that might keep him on the up and up at night.

Klaus was right. Right now she was panicing and that was one of the worst things she could do at that point in time. She curled into his body as he guided her towards the cabin, her arms crossed across her chest as she kept her gaze down. Once they were inside, she sat down on one of the beds, her gaze down at her feet. “Uh, milk and sugar,” she replied quietly, sitting up as she brushed her hair behind her ear.

Klaus obliged silently, adding the necessary ingredients to Jana's coffee before adding a small dash of whiskey for good measure. She was a kind enough girl, one with wit and legs for days. Legs Klaus wished he could have the opportunity to see more of. 

But she was worried now, almost halfway to mourning as Klaus brought in her coffee, his own in his other hand. 

"So tell me what happened. When was the last time you saw her, and what does she look like?"

Jana wiped a tear away before nodding. “Sorry, I’m just worried. I’ve lost a good friend before and I just don’t want it to happen again.” After taking a deep breath, she said, “But you’re right. It’s not going to do any good just standing out here. I guess I could use a coffee.”

"You aren't the only one to lose someone you love, but I can relate. I know that panic sets in during times like these, but you need your wits about cha, and right now, it looks like they've gone missing, right along with Rachel."

Nodding sympathetically, Klaus put an arm around Jana's shoulder, guiding her toward the cabin as the clouds overhead began to take on a darker, more sinister tone.

"So, what is it you like in your coffee?" Klaus called, from the kitchen, pulling out a couple of cups from the cabinets, his voice still a little hoarse sleep, or the lack of it.

"Don’t flatter me so early…" Melody said very serious, but she was joking. She didn’t like Klaus’ style of life, but also she can understand: he was still young and she was working so hard only because she wanted he lives his life. After she smiled. "Eight… and you have had… 3 right? Because I am pretty sure you fell asleep in that couch at 5 in the morning…"

She approached to him and gave to Klaus a hug. Of course she could notice the strong smell to liquor, but she didn’t care. He was her favorite person in the world. “We need a breakfast, you and strong coffee… and maybe some eggs and bacon?” She chuckled. He knew she wasn’t capable to cook nothing what she was seeing… but Melody knew the perfect place to go.

"Maybe you need to dress to put a foot outside." She stood and smiled to him.

If anyone knew how to make Klaus feel important, loved even.. it was Melody. With a warm smile, the boy moved from the couch, grabbing a pair of black slacks from the floor before tugging them on. 

Even this early she was a vision, a perfect replica of their mother even down to cooking breakfast. 

"Strong coffee and bacon plus eggs is possibly the best idea I've ever heard, Mel." Klaus grinned, wrapping an arm around his sister's waist. Giving her a peck on the cheek, he grabbed the wrinkled shirt he'd been using as a pillow, and tugged it over his head; forcing his shoes on his feet without caring much for the socks. 

"This is as ready as I'm going to be able to get this morning, doll. I ain't got much energy to muster, and what little I have left needs to help my fork to my mouth."

"She’s a friend of mine," Jana replied, looking at him with a sort of confused glare. When he offered for her to go inside, she took a step back. "Seriously? You want to drink coffee and get high while someone is god knows where? She could be hurt! She could have fallen and is too hurt to come back! She could…she could…" Jana stopped, trying to hold the tears at bay. She was worried. She had already lost one good friend, she didn’t want to lose another.

Klaus held his hands up in mock defense, annoyed now that he was being berated by someone he hardly knew in regard to the disappearance of someone else he hardly knew. With a huff, he pursed his lips, his arms still crossed over his chest as he took a couple of back steps toward his cabin. 

"No, I want to wake up and fully adjust, including putting a shirt on and pants while someone explains to me what the hell happened last night. I don't remember a damn thing, yet everyone is out here causing a fucking ruckus so I can't sleep. Now, you can come in and have a cup of coffee if you'd like, or you can continue to stand out here fretting and ...well, standing as you wait for instructions. Your call, sweet cheeks."

This had to be some mistake. Out of all the things to go wrong at this retreat, Rachel missing could not be happening. Jana knew Rachel, there was no way she would just disappear. Something had to happen. Jana stood in the middle of the chaos, unsure of what to do exactly. She wanted to help but she wasn’t sure how. She turned when she heard someone come up and ask what was going on. It was Klaus. “Rachel’s missing,” she said timidly, still unable to believe it.

Klaus blinked at the familiar redhead, his eyes still full of sleep and the ground damp beneath his bare feet. With a confused glare, he looked at the tall woman in front of him, bewilderment riddling his features. 

"Who the hell is Rachel?" He questioned, crossing his arms as he watched the astonishment on Jana's face. He couldn't help that he was a loner, and he also couldn't help that he could hardly remember a woman's name, let alone her face.

"C'mon, it's muggy as hell out here. I've got coffee in the cabin, and some weed if you need to relax. You can tell me all about this Rachel chick and why the hell she decided to ditch the retreat."

Klaus awoke with a start. He'd hardly remembered his time during the retreat, as he'd kept himself pleasantly oblivious with the assistance of booze. It wasn't his fault that CitySpire knew how to party, either, the only thing he would confess to doing was pilfering liquor bottles and stowing them away in his cabin. 

This morning was different though, it even felt different when he woke up. The voices were muffled, but there were quite a few of them. Frowining, he peeked through the blinds, not bothering to get out of bed to see what all the commotion was about. 

What he saw made him frown. Park officials and other folks, some he recognized seem to be talking frantically, as if they were searching for information that none of them had. 

With a huff, Klaus forced himself from the sheets, throwing on a pair of dirty jean shorts before pulling the door open. 

"What the hell is going on out here?"

Cabin 4 || Klaus and Sophie

"Well, pretty boy, you can assume by your new nickname that you’re not so bad yourself." She took the flask back from him. 

"So what are ya in for?"

"Masturbating in public."

Taking the flask back from the cute brunette he took another swig, holding up his finger as he swallowed so that she knew he wasn't quite finished. 

"What about you?"

Well, how many pretty red haired ladies do you know that work at the 'Spire? I can hardly think of 5, 4 of which I've slept with. 

So much better at remembering a pretty face than the name that goes with it.

Sophie sat up, tossing the stranger her flask. “Hope you’re not diseased.” 

She stood up, stretching her arm out to him. “Name’s Sophie, so what should I call you? We can stick with pretty boy if you hate your own name.”

"i rather like pretty boy to be honest. Makes me feel special." Klaus took a swig from the flask. The bitterness of the whiskey warming his throat.

"Klaus, but again, as I said before...I am a fan of pretty boy."

He grinned at the woman, taking in her small frame and quirky attitude.

"You're cute Sophie..."

"What… ooops." Sophie falls into the bed. startled by the other voice in the room. "Well New York isn’t that far away, pretty boy. You could still catch the train headed back that direction… but then you’d miss out on all my moooooves." Sophie grinned, pulling a flask from the elastic of her shorts. 

Klaus found himself even more perterbed by the strange woman in his cabin. Although she was weird, she had a flask, and that flask was proving to be the sanity he need. 

You're an odd gal, but I can get behind that flask, and then maybe I'll join you and you 'moves'. What should I call you?
