Zach’s help was a blessing. His power may have not been completely mastered, but it was effective enough against the hybrids that were trying to protect their headquarters. There weren’t many, but it seemed to be the strongest they had. At least she didn’t see Evan. Mina wanted no part of that man in her condition.
A gash in her head from one smashing her head against the wall left blood spilling into her eyes and blurring her eyesight. Not the best time to be flying blind. At least Zach had the others occupied at the base of the building, so Mina was not entirely overwhelmed.
When she was just within reach of her target, Mina felt herself lift off the ground. She strengthened her block and crashed to the floor causing the hybrid to laugh. It didn’t matter to Mina. Her eyes were fully on the prize, but to tap into the government’s system she needed to use her genius. In her condition that meant lower her block and becoming very vulnerable. But then again, this was why she had to be the one to do this. And Mina knew once the shields were down the hybrid would be answering to a very annoyed someone much stronger than both of them.
Again she was lifted off the ground, but this time didn’t bother blocking the attack. Mina was dragged toward the window. “Out the window, your majesty.” Mina could barely hear his words as she worked feverishly on destroying everything. Not just the shield but everything the hybrids had helped them build. When the shields went down there was no alarm to save the hybrids ass, no warning.
