The satisfying cracks of Cole's bones delighted and fuelled Harwin's inner beast. Nothing seemed to penetrate his haze of bloodlust... until she spoke.
Nay, she didn't even speak loud, she just whispered tentatively. "Ser... Harwin?" The breathy sound was like an invisible leash around Harwin's neck, the handle in the lady's hand. Harwin immediately stopped the assault, and glanced at her, almost as if awaiting her next command.
As the haze of bloodlust seemed to slowly dissipate, Harwin was struck by incredulity. The inner beast he kept buried very deep inside of him never obeyed anyone. It barely obeyed him. But Lady Lyanna's smallest gasp was a command the beast heeded without hesitation.
“My lady...” he barely recognised his own gravelly voice.
The sight of Harwin’s bloodied knuckles and the knights bludgeoned face brought a small lurch to her gut. Though she was’t certain if it was fear or… excitement?
While she was no stranger to violence, Lyanna had never witness someone turning so feral. It was as if the collected man turned into a beast before her and he did it all to protect her but also stopped at her command?
It was then when Lyanna realised - Harwin WAS the strongest man in Westeros yet she was in control over the beast. Had she wanted to, she could have asked him to finish the job.
Her eyes fell to the quiet crowd surrounding them, and then to the injured knight who was now coughing blood.
“That will be enough,” she commanded gently and then turned to the beggar to finish collecting the food scattered around.
“He won’t be bothering you, any more,” she spoke, and then whispered so Harwin will not hear, “I will return later, I promise, don’t lose hope.”
Getting to her feet she turned toward Harwin who was still crouched over the knight, and without thinking at all, held out a hand though she was not supposed to touch him, nor did it seemed he needed anyone’s help.
By then a chant began within the crowd, they recognised Harwin’s white cloak.
“is that the princess?” “He is the royal guard!” “Breakbones Strong”
