Type project #2

Words each have a meaning and each can be described by other words. But can u describe a word by just sight without the word or any words? In this assignment we were to go through 3 steps or process leading us to our final steps. Sadly I have lost the process work for number one. Our second step was 100 thumbnails of a letter in different ways as u can see I picked the letter "E". It was fun but did not really help me into my third step. Finally I got the word disgust for my third step and I was to use type to describe the word without usuing the word itself. I stumbled and fell on this third step a lot and really did not get far. Until finally my personal life of hunting helped me think of one thing I know that disgust people the most, dead animal bodies. This brought up the idea of a disgusting alphabet as u can see from the pictures I started and did only the "A"for now in future want to complete a whole alphabet as an interactive piece. In the end I am super happy with how it turned out and I am excited to finish this and put it in my portfolio.

Typophoto book that I created in Type class for a project after looking at graphs and type and how photos can inspire people we were tasked in my type class to tell a story through type and pictures working together. I decided to go along a Alice in wonderland adventure of the city I live in now. Medicine Hat was a great place of history and the combination of new technology giving me a large variety of ideas and places to get photos. As im not the most technologically advanced person around this created a struggle for me because I was always more focused on how to build objects not what they look like through a lens of a camera. So it created a struggle but also allowing me to experience a whole new side of the art world. Personally I think that these photos are very well taken for a first time photographer. In the end this book actually is something I'm really proud of and excited to show off. Photos of hard copy are to come soon! :)

In our first assingment in type 2 here are some examples of modular grids which we worked with from Pinterest showing how the same grid can have different out comes depending on the artist.

#Typography class Smash Bro

Just some thought process for my typography class project I am most happy with my consume with the "O" being cropped and seems to be the most promising. Most of my concepts worked really well and it surprised me that after researching to find out that most people think consume means just to eat when its also when u destroy something like land to use for building. If I was to do this again i would probably keep playing around with position on the page to see how they look and keep trying different things

I used the type face Centaur for this project because the counter spaces are interesting to work with and the way the letters are formatted have an interesting look. I choose these letters because their counter spaces were nice to work with. I think it all worked well and the outcome look awesome. Using the counter space of the D did not work well due to the fact that some times it couldn't fit or i had to change it a little to fill a spot. If I was to redo this project I would probably change up where I put the counter spaces and which ones i used just to make it a little more unique.
