When the courier first dragged him to the sunset sarsaparilla plant, Raul had laughed at the cowboy animatronic. 

It was tacky. In only the way a corporate mascot could be.  

Tacky, like donning a costume shop’s cheap, synthetic vaquero outfit.  

But it was something deeper in the plant that brought him back. Beyond the tourist fronts of the lobby, within the belly of the office spaces, slept an unused charro suit, cocooned behind dust-laden glass. 

It wasn’t extravagant, but the embellishments lent it something more than a working lifestyle. Practical, but showy. Something a professional rider might wear for rodeo.  

And it was something that found him again, after all these years.  

But back then, he hadn’t hesitated. Back then, the suit wasn’t about him. Every decision was for her. Anything to see her smile again, to keep her thinking about better times. 

Now, however, there was no one else. Just him, just his wants. A need to fulfill some desire he knew was juvenile. Absurd. Tacky… 

…Purposeful. 

He met his reflection’s eyes, his question answered.

I understand that Hancock was considered attractive before he turned ghoul but I think people don't realise that pre-ghoul Hancock was considered attractive in an POST-APOCALYPSE setting. He most likely had bad teeth, unbrushed hair, major eye bags, dirty skin, probably looked 10 years older than he was considering all the shit the people of the commonwealth go through, and he was still a addict before he turned ghoul so he probably stank of alcohol 24/7. This is one of the reasons I hate human/attractive Hancock mods. Pre-ghoul Hancock is handsome in the world of Fallout not ours. He would not look like a model or your favourite TikTok micro-celebrity. In our world he would probably be seen as unattractive even if the people of the commonwealth thought differently.
