Luca chuckled into a closed hand. His magic tricks were special in that he also used his skills in alchemy to do them, so ordinary standards magicians used didn’t apply.

What had actually happened was that in the hat, there was a hidden pouch where three berry-shaped clusters were located. The pigeons ate those after entering the hat and temporarily shrunk down, escaping into the man’s hair in back of his head and then down beneath his suit jacket.

Luca stood up and spread out his arms, laughing at the tickling sensation he felt on his back. Three objects moved within his jacket and flew out beneath it. The three white pigeons landed back on the bench in a straight line, perched on the top. They sat there for a moment, fixing feathers that had gotten ruffled in the routine. Their keeper spun around to see Asbel clapping for him, which brought a bright grin to the older man’s face.

"Taa-daaa~! Heheh, thanks for watching! I’m really glad you enjoyed it. A proposito, my name is Luca." He motioned to the three birds. "These little ones don’t have names, though." However, all of them did have a colored strip of tape attached to the bottom of their leg so that he could tell them apart.

Upon the reappearance of the birds, Asbel was none the wiser and still just as intrigued as before. He smiled at the birds as their preened their ruffled feathers before turning his bicolored gaze back to the magician. The man was really pretty amazing! Asbel had no idea!

"It was really cool!" Asbel smiled brightly, as if he were a kid at the circus just like back in the good ol' days, and once again looked to the birds. "I never knew that birds could be trained like that... Back home, monsters could be tamed and trained, but the most I ever saw was birds just flying out of the ringmaster's top hat... They never did anything that special."

Perking up upon the introduction, Asbel offered his hand for Luca to shake. "I'm Asbel! It's nice to meet you," he returned. "Ah, oh, also. About that...what you said. What does that mean? You said a couple of things earlier I didn't understand, either. Is it another language?"

To him it sounded like fancy gibberish...

Venus had nearly forgot about police reports. Although truth be told she and the girls typically dashed out before such questions could be asked; shadow’s in the night, watchful protectors unseen and all that. But with so few Senshi around and no Artemis to reprimand her, the scout handled it just as she did back in her solo days: with the truth.

Well, sort of.

"Venus," She nodded and bared her cheeky smile, "Sailor Venus.” Shaken and not stirred? Maybe if this wasn’t a police report. But one day she would definitely use that line. Now contact was the tricky part. A scrunch of her nose, a frown and she shook here head. “And due to conflicts with secret identity, I’m afraid my number is out of the question. If it weren’t so I’d be happy to hand it out, I apologize for the inconvenience.” 

Then her signature smile returns, beaming with confidence. “But whenever there’s injustice rearing it’s ugly head, you can count on me to be there!” God, Minako loved saying stuff like that…to be relied on, really, was what made it all the more fulfilling.

Hearing the name only reinforced Asbel's idea of the girl being a superhero. 'Sailor Venus', huh... The redhead stood there for a moment, turning the alias over in his head. He wondered what the others back at the station would think when he provided that name...

It hadn't occurred to him that maybe the police station would already be briefed on this sort of thing. Asbel, being new and all, was still learning the ropes of this society's law and order. His superiors would probably get what he meant when he provided the name 'Sailor Venus' or maybe they wouldn't get it and just accept it for simplicity's sake.

They seemed like that type... It irked the redhead a bit.

Asbel's lips pursed in an awkward line across his face. No contact information available, huh? Secret identities... It sounded a little shady to Asbel and it felt wrong to go back without contact information, but it wasn't like he could strong-arm the girl who just helped him apprehend the thief. Considering his situation very carefully, Asbel finally sighed and showed a weary smile.

"Than I suppose I'll just have to trust you, huh?" he said, following up with a small laugh. "Thank you for your help, Sailor Venus..!"

Hopefully he wouldn't get scolded too seriously for this.

"Yes! I used to run a magic show back in my community for the children. Cards tricks and other things too! No acrobatics or impossible escapes though, I would probably end up drowning if I attempted one of those."

He picked the pigeons up one by one and lined them into a row. Each of the pigeons looked up at him and stood still, waiting for a command to be issued. Luca rubbed two gloved fingers together in figure-eight patterns, and one by one the pigeons took off from the bench and did a short routine. First, they all flew upwards in a circle, making the shape of a miniature tornado, then they formed a horizontal line in the air. There were about eight pigeons in all that played a part, but five of them flew away in unison after this.

The other three flew towards Luca again, and the man took off his hat. The three birds flew into the hat, and he put it back on his head. For a few seconds, the hat moved slightly back and forth as if the pigeons were settling in, but once Luca took it off again, there wasn’t a single trace to be found of them. There wasn’t even a single feather.

"Oh no! Somehow I keep losing them…and those three were my favorites!" But that too, was only for show. He knew where the birds had went, but somehow the show only got better when he pretended he made a mistake.

When the gentleman spoke, Asbel immediately thought of the time his father took him and his little brother to the circus when they were younger. So this man was a magician of sorts! Magic was probably Asbel's favorite part of fairs and carnivals, simply because he couldn't particularly follow along well enough to debunk the tricks... Not like Hubert, who always came away from those booths looking mildly annoyed.

The magician began arranging his bird friends and Asbel's attention locked onto them. Their movements were in unison, as if there were mirror tricks rigged up to make it seem like there were more than one pigeon. Asbel watched with a smile on his face, patiently following their flight patterns until they lined up mid-air.

Then, however, when the magician took his hat off and put it back on with the birds within, Asbel looked confused yet eager. It was strange that those birds managed to fit there atop the man's head like that...

But when the hat was revealed to be empty, Asbel gaped.

"Whoa, they're really gone..!" For a moment, Asbel was convinced that the magician had made a mistake and that the birds were lost to some interdimensional rift or something. However, after a moment, he caught on and Asbel started chuckling, partly out of embarrassment.

"That was great!" he exclaimed, clapping for the magician.

It’s definitely not the most flattering picture, but the blonde decides to keep it in any case as a ‘memento’ of sorts of her first time taking a photograph herself. The stranger could have reacted violently, but instead she is once again greeted with understanding and kindness, which is something she greatly appreciates as… Well, it’s not something normal people tend to offer to any Claymore back where she’s from. However, even if he appears kind, Cynthia knows better than to offer her complete trust in a stranger, knowing that it’s beneficial to doubt others to an extent until they prove themselves completely trustworthy.

Though, would she really be seeing this person again after this ordeal…?

"Memory cap…?" she repeats the phrase, tilting her head slightly in perplexity as she thinks about it. So, this phone can only hold so many pictures…? She supposes that it makes sense, seeing as a canvas itself can only hold one painting at a time… "I see! I’ll be sure to be mindful of how many pictures I take, then!"

Tucking her phone away for the moment, the silver optics of the woman are drawn to the extended hand of the male, looking at it curiously for a moment before offering another bright smile. Gently, she takes hold of the other’s hand, shaking it three times before returning her own thin hand back to her side.

"It’s nice to meet you, Asbel!" she returns the greeting, her hand coming up to point at her chest softly before proceeding. "My name is Cynthia… Just Cynthia," no surnames here. "Thank you once again for your help!"

"Mhm!" Asbel chirps as the blonde considers the restriction of her phone. With as much enthusiasm the woman had, he wouldn't be surprised if she filled up the memory the phone had. He understood, though. Pascal would do the same; his eccentric, technology-loving friend would probably take the device apart and rebuild it seven times over to figure everything out about it...

Asbel grins slightly when Cynthia takes his gesture, returning his own hand to his side. It was nice to meet someone so nice, considering he'd seen so much unrest as of late. Then again, he figured that no one around him probably hadn't... Still, friendly strangers were hard to come by.

"It's nice to meet you, too!" Asbel returns, turning slightly with intent to leave. Since he'd accomplished what Cynthia had asked of him, it was time to go back to his wandering. Lifting his hand, he waved slightly in parting.

"No problem. Have fun with that thing!"

The reaction he had to the pigeons were something out of curiosity, and Luca felt relieved for that. The man approached the bench, but didn’t ask to sit down, so for now the birds weren’t in the way.  Most magicians practiced their vanishing tricks on rabbits and assistants, but he was always fond of these guys, and couldn’t find it within himself to replace them with some other animal.

"They are, signore!" Luca turned his hand over palm-side up so that one could walk around there. "I’ve been training them for years now, I can’t be quite sure how many…"

He knew he had them when he started taking care of Felicita, because he would do it to make her happy as a child, but even before that too. He would put on magic shows for the children at the church during the Piccollino well before he left at sixteen. No matter how you looked at it, it had been a long time. 

"They can do tricks too, if you’d like to see. If you have time for that, anyway!"

He was clearly on the move, so it was likely that he would take a rain check, but for Luca, what did he have to do? It wasn’t time for work, and he was happy to get some fresh air. Entertaining others meant a lot to him, just to see enjoyment on others faces.

"Oh, but I don’t have all of my material for a show on me… yet! Mi dispiace."

Maybe the way the pigeons seemed to crowd around the man as if they belonged there, which Asbel learned that they indeed did, was strange, but the stranger part of this man's first impression was the strange words he used. Asbel's head tilted slightly upon being called si...sinyo...sinyoray? What had that even meant? And then that other phrase?

Whatever 'me deespyachay' meant, Asbel had no clue, but from context he guessed it was some sort of strange apology.

That aside, the redhead's eyes widened slightly. "Eh? They can do tricks?" he asked, visioning it in his head immediately. Birds doing backflips and hopping through hoops...all the while wearing tiny crowns atop their heads. It seemed strange to think about.

Asbel was interested!

"Well, um, sure! I'm not busy," he reassured, smiling.

Regular folk were a hit or miss lot; sure, most of her experience with the general populous had been positive. Typically they were just glad that someone capable apprehended whatever alien or criminal threatened their peace and that was all, but not everyone was so quick to accept sailor suited teens and they’re remarkable gifts — there were those who didn’t find the power of love to be as kick ass as she did — and so Venus found her caution to be grounded.

Sapphire hued eyes remained temperate and her stance rigid as she sized up the boy; it would’ve helped to be a mind reader right about then. Uncertainty mingling with vigilance. But then he spoke, finally, and the relief that followed after had made the Senshi bristle down. Her signature smile stretched wryly across her lips. 

He looked a little young to be a police officer, but hey, who was she to judge? “No need to thank me, but I appreciate the sentiment a lot!” She said with mirth, and promptly turned on her heel to go and collect both the thief and the purse now slung over her shoulder. 

"Besides," She continued as she approached the red haired officer once more to deposit the still struggling man into his charge —  troublesome, but still Venus remained grinning. "The force does the real work anyway, ne? I just lend a hand when it’s needed ~ "

Honestly, Asbel didn't quite know how to react. He felt as though he should question the blonde crime-fighter, but he wasn't sure if there was some mysteriousness that she should be keeping. After all, when he'd arrived, she'd seemed pretty guarded about his witness to her acts. Everything she'd done was well-intentioned, though, so Asbel didn't see why he should reprimand her or anything.

Probably because back home, it was usually up to the common man or woman to help when someone was in trouble and guards or knights would help or take care of the legality of the issue.

So, grasping the thief's shoulder and maneuvering his bound arms behind his back, Asbel thought as he handcuffed the male. He gave the blonde a grateful smile when she spoke.

"Thank you, for real this time! Um, but I'll probably need your name for when I report this. And if possible, a way to contact you?" It seemed strange to have to ask a superhero-esque person for such details.

"Oh, you can take...that back," he suddenly said, motioning toward the chain that remained around the thief.

"Eeeh, that’s very interesting, Asbel! It’s the same for us, actually." Jude affirmed. This was becoming such a great appointment, huh! It was also nice to know that the next appoinment would be later, so he had time to talk with the other about artes. That would be so normal for him, but nevermind the normality right now!

"We don’t have these crystals, though. We actually have mana lobes inside us, that’s why we can use artes.” A pause. “Mana lobes are a certain part of our brain, which produces mana. And when this mana is eaten by spirits, we are able to use artes!” He wondered what was like to use a crystal for artes…it shouldn’t be hard, right? The way you use them should be the same…But the question left was about the spirits.

"I came from Rieze Maxia!" He scratched his head. "I wonder if the places where we came from are different on this subject…"

As Jude explained how he used artes, Asbel was floored. Eleth, being the source of life, was all around and within him at Ephinea. Eleth was in the air, the ground, the water, and in living beings. Cryases were just concentrations, is how he understood it... But to have a specific part of your body that supplied -- what was it? -- mana...

It was really, really interesting, even though Asbel never was the science-y type.

"Spirits?" Asbel echoed as he returned his cryas to his pocket. "That sounds pretty strange... Do the spirits live inside of you or something?" In that moment, Asbel thought of Lambda, who slept within him. He wasn't really a spirit and Asbel could use artes without him, but maybe there was a connection?

"Oh-- Sorry! Is this okay?" he asked. The fact that he's original come here for a doctor to see him about his sickness dawned on him. And here they were just shooting the breeze about their homes... It was so fascinating, but Asbel worried that maybe he'd get the doctor in trouble for buying up all his time.

Watching him for a moment as he seems to look at the object with some uncertainty at first, Cynthia offers him a reassuring smile as he answers her once more, watching what he does carefully. After all, it simply wouldn’t do if she just let him do everything without seeing how to do it for herself, right? So taking it upon herself, the warrior closes the distance between the two, the female perhaps a little too close for the other’s comfort and she realizes this, but there’s really no other way for her to learn how to work this thing’s ‘camera’, right?

Her head tilting slightly with interest as the male begins to go through various options and menus on her phone, pressing buttons she doesn’t understand the symbols for. Her silver optics seem to flash with a child-like wonder, however, as he continues, eventually clicking on the correct button for the camera, bringing up the phone’s capabilities and successfully capturing a photo of the ground beneath them.

How fascinating!

"Oh, oh! Let me try!” she interjects excitedly, wasting no time in taking the phone back from the male and raising it up in front of her. Consumed by the passion of discovering something completely new, the blonde hastily takes a picture of anything in front of her; which, in this case, is the male that has just helped her. Calming herself down for the moment, realizing how silly she must seem, she smiles a bit sheepishly as she looks to the ground for the moment, showing the picture she took to the male.

"… I think I got a bit carried away, but what do you think? Hehe! This is really fascinating— oh! But thank you for helping me!"

Asbel's smile remains once he's shown her the application on her phone, watching with amusement as she becomes excited. The blonde taps the screen as he instructed multiple times and Asbel lifts a hand to rub the back of his neck, trying to follow where she points the camera to see what she's so enthusiastic to capture on her phone. In the end, he deduces that she's in awe that the device can even do what it does and he laughs lightly as a passerby gives them both a peculiar look.

The moment the camera turns in his direction, though, Asbel tries to pull on a decent smile. Well, hopefully that didn't look dopey... He'd ask for a re-do, but this is a stranger and he wasn't sure if she'd really want a proper picture of him on her phone. Awkwardly keeping his mouth shut, he waits until she's done.

"Oh, wow, haha!" he exclaims when the blonde shows him the picture she'd just taken of him. Half of his face and from what he could tell, he looked maybe a little exasperated. "It's pretty cool! I think I heard that there's a, uh...'memory cap' or something on the phone, though. I guess if you take too many pictures, it'll fill up the phone."

At that, Asbel just shrugs. He doesn't fully understand it himself.

"Yeah, no problem, ah-- Oh! Um, I'm Asbel, by the way!" Holding his hand out in a friendly gesture, Asbel grins, maybe a little lopsided, but he's happy to have helped someone even when he doesn't have much knowledge on the subject of cell phones himself. The girl seems very nice and pleasant, too. If they ever run into one another again, he figures it'd be nice to be able to greet her properly, so introductions seemed understandable.

Luca sat on a bench down the street from his apartment complex, slightly nervous to be there for a long period of time. His Eden, the beautiful island community of Regalo he had so much pride in had fallen to the wars. The Famiglia tried to quell the rising riots and citizen unrest, but had to disband when the once peaceful place nearly fell to ruins. The Coins were robbed of the government’s finances and The Swords couldn’t even discern who was friend or foe.  And now he was here, trying to make sense of this newlywed life with someone he was frankly terrified of. 

The man whistled a soft tune and raised his hand, patiently awaiting one of his pigeons to land on his index finger. When one came, others shortly followed, but landed on the bench instead. He began talking to the one perched on his finger, trying to figure out what to do next. He rubbed the top of the bird’s head with his other index finger.

"I’ll just have to adapt," he said quietly. "You can’t stay in the apartment, you know. But I can still put a bird feeder outside of the window. I don’t even have the herb garden anymore," he rambled. "I suppose I can keep a few in there bu—"

When he heard a noise from behind—it was someone clearing their throat— he nearly jumped straight off of the bench. A small squeak came from his throat and he looked over his shoulder to see someone standing there.

"I’m sorry! D-don’t mind me!" That’s right. Don’t mind the crazy man talking to his birds.

Moving from Ephinea left Asbel in a lull when it came to culture shock. Everything was new to him and it seemed like whenever he'd gain a little understanding over one thing, something else confronted him. From clothing to transportation to weaponry... Sometimes his homesickness hit hard and he was left frowning at just about everything around him.

The easiest and least complicated thing he'd come to learn about in Iunctum was food, however. Sandwiches were his big thing right now. They were easy to make and cheap to buy if he didn't have time in the mornings to pack his lunch. There were all sorts of sandwiches, with different meats and veggies and breads.

The pigeons at his feet, as he sat in the sun and ate and shared bits of his lunch with them, probably agreed that today's selection was rather good.

All at once, his company seemed to straighten up and look off into the distance. Their synchronized movement surprised the redhead and he instinctively followed their gaze. Maybe he was wrong, but there was someone across the street in this quieter part of town that the birds looked like they were drawn to. One by one, they took flight toward the figure, leaving Asbel stranded.

Of course curiosity got the better of the redhead and he shoved the remainder of his sandwich into his mouth, lightly smacked his chest when he struggled to get it down, and went to check out the birds' newfound interest.

As he approached, Asbel caught hushed words coming from the person, who looked like a well-dressed gentleman. For a moment, he wasn't sure if he should address the guy, but since he'd come this way... Nabbing the gentleman's attention, Asbel pointed at the pigeons.

"Are they yours?"

The blonde’s smile only seems to widen as she captures the male’s attention, his person quickly turning to approach her. Though at first, she finds her eyes widening in fascination as his own eyes come into view, the female blinking once in surprise before she regains her composure. She hasn’t even seen heterochromia of more common colours, never mind blue and purple! Cynthia can’t help but wonder if there’s a special story behind his eyes like much how there is one to hers, or if it’s just completely natural.

Up until now actually, the idea of purple being an eye colour never really occurred to the warrior.

Regardless, the Claymore still smiles at the stranger, appreciating his acceptance of her offer and gives him a nod in return before facing her phone towards him. As of now, it’s currently on the main menu screen of sorts, or whatever it’s called. For the life of her, she can’t figure out which symbol or button is used to take pictures with and frankly the fact that this contraption is capable of such a thing baffles her.

"Thank you very much!" is the first thing she replies with, her tone still friendly as it usually is. “Right, so… You know how these things can send messages and the like, right? I heard they can take pictures, too! But… Well, unfortunately I can’t really seem to figure out how to do that,” and honestly admitting this to the stranger makes her feel a little embarrassed, since so many people around here seem so used to this technology.

"Would you know how to do that…?"

For a moment, it seems as if the stranger is staring a little too intensely at his face, but Asbel doesn't catch it. He blinks curiously at the female before him as she lifts her phone for him to see more clearly. Asbel inspects the screen, eyes scanning the icons and their titles thoughtfully. It had just about the same apps (he'd come to learn that that was what they were called from the instruction manual) that his own phone had. Looked like this girl knew just about as much as he did about the device.

"Oh, yeah, they can do that," Asbel mumbles for a moment. Eyes flicking back up to the girl's, he smiles quickly. "I managed to figure it out once on mine, so it shouldn't be too hard to get it to take pictures on yours, too, I hope."

With a gentle hand, Asbel takes the device from the blonde and holds it before him as he pokes the screen a couple of times. Various apps pop up, such as the bare contacts list, the settings page, and even the pictures gallery, which was empty save for pre-programmed wallpapers. When the latter shows up, Asbel's eyes light up with familiarity and he prods the icon in the corner that is supposed to look like a camera, something he still doesn't understand.

The screen immediately shows a slightly delayed copy of the sidewalk and the girl's shoes and Asbel grins suddenly. Turning the phone back to face the girl, he offers for her to take it back again.

"That's it! You just touch the bar at the bottom to take the picture!"

The stark difference between the technology here and back home is a little startling, to say the least.

Though the blonde has begun to quickly understand the basics of her ‘phone’, mistakes will still be made… Which is perfectly natural, though the warrior herself isn’t too pleased with not understanding this odd piece of machinery while everyone else around her seems to understand it well enough. Instead of feeling pity for herself, however, Cynthia only builds up more determination to mastering the art of ‘texting’ and ‘taking photos’ with this odd contraption.

Yet, despite her efforts, it seems she is at a loss once more as she stands out of the way of oncoming civilian traffic on the sidewalk, the blonde tapping away at various buttons on her phone. What the Claymore wanted was to attempt to take a picture with her device, but it seems she’s at a loss of how to do so, despite being able to send messages now (though… She has no contacts to send messages to).

Eyebrows knitting together slightly as the silver optics of the woman continued to be glued onto the phone’s screen, an idea to ask assistance from a passerby crosses her mind… Though, she just hopes she doesn’t come across as a fool.

"Ah, excuse me!" she calls out to the nearest person walking by, a welcoming smile present on her features. “I was wondering if you could spare a moment to help me with this…? It won’t take very long, I’m sure!”

Asbel never got tired of wandering about the city. Though crowded and dangerous it may be, there were so many things that were so different from what he was used to to look at and learn about. Giant television screens, crosswalks, and cars... He wasn't entirely out of the know, thanks to being close friends with a few Amarcians back home, but it was still fascinating.

The technology was much more advanced here. Sometimes it blew Asbel's mind!

Presently, the redhead had no particular destination in mind. He was off-hours in terms of work and he didn't have errands or chores to take care of. Staying at the apartment made him restless. Asbel never was the type to just sit around and be lazy. He had to be proactive or at least move around.

Mind busy with the sights and sounds, Asbel almost passed up the blonde who'd called to him. Stopping awkwardly, his bicolored orbs locked onto the girl asking for assistance with befuddlement for a split second before he beamed at her. Approaching, he gave her a friendly nod.

"Sure!" he answered before he caught a glimpse of what exactly she needed help with. Smile turning weak, Asbel chuckled softly before warning her, "I'm not the best with those, but I might be able to help! What's up?"

"Eh, so you know these?!" Jude was honestly surprised when the other boy’s words went through Jude’s ears. He wouldn’t expect someone to know about this, unless they were people from Rieze Maxia or Elympios…But Jude never had heard of Ephinea before…and they use artes there?!

"Do you guys use artes there, too?!" Another place which artes could be used, huh…humans in Rieze Maxia use spirits to help them cast an arte, and Jude was curious how the ‘system’ would work in Asbel’s…world, more precisely.

If Asbel said ‘like my friend’s arte’…Jude wondered if Asbel could also use artes. In reality, normally it wouldn’t be that surprising for Jude seeing people talking about artes and stuff…but hey, Asbel is from another world! How could Jude not get a little interest on that?!

This visit had become much more hopeful and interesting than he could have expected!

"Yeah!" Asbel chirped. From his pants pocket he materialized a jagged, bluish crystal attached to a silver chain. Holding it up for Jude to see, Asbel smiled. "This is a cryas crystal! They have eleth, the source of life on our planet, in them. Pretty neat, huh? This is how we're able to use artes!"

"We have all sorts of artes! Healing ones, like yours, too! My friend, Cheria, works as a nurse because she's really good with them. Me, on the other hand, I was a knight! I fight with mine." It was really relieving to get to talk about his home with someone who had some inkling of what he was talking about. So far, he hadn't met anyone who understood what he meant when he talked about his home.

It was a warm feeling. Deep inside, he yearned to see his family and friends again, but his optimism stopped him from dwelling too much.

There the perp had taken a sharp, skidding turn into an alley, and had been met with an orange heel straight to the jaw and his back to the cold hard ground. Oh the rush of beating up some baddies — it certainly would never be better than the high that came with beating a boss battle or seeing her favorite idols in concert, but it was up there. Her antsy muscles had been waiting ages for a moment like this. 

A strangled “who are you” left the man’s swollen mouth, and the blonde indulged him as she had propped him back up to his feet. Even dusting him off too; one should look presentable before being promptly brought to the authorities. 

"Agent of Love and Beauty, the pretty sailor suited soldier Sailor Venus — Champion of Justice too." Could this have been anymore casual? "I’d have done my whole intro if you weren’t, y’know, so wimpy ~ " Wimpy, sure, but definitely a runner. She brought him to his feet, politely introduced herself, only to have him shove past her and book it down the alley once again; the nerve of him!

Her playful, jovial tone hardened over as she pulled the ruby and gold chain from around her waist now pulsating and glowing gold. “Venus Love - Me Chain!" The magic words shouted from her blazing core, pushing past her lips and into the open air to guide the chain toward the thief with blinding speed. The jewelry coursing with love’s energy made contact and constricted the man, tightening around him, and in the aided him in his fall to the grime slick ground once again.

Though, really, successfully catching the creep was not the thing on Sailor Venus’ mind or eyes. No, it was the civilian who witnessed it all.

Tenacious he may be, Asbel was admittedly thrown off by the thief's nimble movements. He nearly took a tumble when the escapee turned into the alleyway without prior indication, growling angrily as he regained his momentum and gave chase down the dim passage. However, Asbel didn't get far before the thief was assaulted by someone else.

A flash of golden light and Asbel's dumbfounded eyes finally found the tall girl in a sailor suit, directly opposite of him in the alley. What he was wearing looked like a costume he'd seen in a storefront display before, but the moment she lashed out her glowing chain, he knew that she was the real deal.

Whatever that was, he had no clue... What he was witnessing was nothing short of impressive, though.

Before Asbel could do anything about the thief's renewed scurry, the girl had taken care of it herself. Instinct brought the policeman forward, nearly to the costumed lady's side as he watched her apprehend the lawbreaker. That chain of hers coiled tightly around the thief and Asbel was completely baffled.

When the redhead finally realized that the girl's eyes had turned to him, Asbel jerked in surprise and stood up straight. For a moment, he was stunned into silence, but when he finally regain some semblance of composure he cocked his head and spoke.

"I-I guess I should thank you...?" he stammered, heterochromic eyes darting back to the restrained thief. "That was...pretty amazing... Like a superhero or something. Er, superheroine...I guess..."

Clearing his throat suddenly, Asbel smiled sheepishly.

"I'm a police officer, so I'll take care of him."

"Ah, I see…pretty normal. Big cities are most likely to bring sickness to people, so don’t worry." Jude added. Although that might have been obvious for anyone, so explain wouldn’t be needed. "Let me take care of this…" Jude said as he approaches the boy some more.

“Recovery ring!” He shouted as a circle of light appeared in the floor and a green aura started to fly through the air. That ability should help…Jude hoped so, “Hm, this ability should stop the pain and decrease the fever. It might be not totally cured, though, but the virus should get weaker now.”

If it was needed, maybe he should recipe the boy some medicine…after all, an ability sure can help, but it won’t help everything.

Briefly, Asbel thought that he was going to be examined like the family doctor did when he was younger. Tongue depressor, stethoscope, the works. However, Asbel was pleasantly surprised when suddenly, Jude used used an arte. His eyes lit up as the aura danced around him, like a curtain of liquid emerald that faded away almost as quickly as it'd appeared.

The effects of the arte were felt instantly. Asbel's head was less cloudy from the fever and the heaviness in his chest died down. There was still a tickle in the back of his throat, but he didn't feel like he was fighting to breathe so much.

It reminded him of home!

"You used a healing arte!" Asbel rasped gleefully. "Are you from-- Oh, not from Ephinea... Wow, that's so much like my friend's arte..."

"Yeah, no kidding..." Asbel dusted off his clothes to the best of his ability, but splotches of grit managed to mash their way into the threads of the fabric. "Kids are pretty reckless... I would know, I guess, but still. At least I was well-mannered."
