The power trio of Amy Douglas, Rob Phillips and Daymeyn Gantt, otherwise known as SPF 5000 returns with Take My Picture, a 5 track EP!
They began with the mission to take over dance floors across the universe, one party track at a time and their infectious blend of pop, electro, funk, hip hop and house music have become mainstays in many DJ’s arsenals.
Today we announce the debut of their EP for our record label Knight Time Records, the full scope of their vision is fully realized with high energy, high voltage party jams to set your summer on Fire.
Nightlife photographer extraordinaire/Société Perrier luminary Nicky Digital has been documenting the best parties over the years in New York City and beyond. Rubbing elbows with world-class DJs and bands got him to thinking about launching his own record label. After taking his time and doing his homework, he’s partnered with Brooklyn-based indie label The Sleepover Party to launch the aptly named Knight Time Records. The label’s first release is an electro-charged EP by Boston’s SPF 5000 - Société Perrier
Boston based trio, SPF 5000, recently released the “Make Love To Me EP” + Remixes on Knight Time Records and I’ve literally been grooving to it all night. The original is a hot slice of disco dance meets electro pop with amazing suggestive vocals that just beg you to get down and dirty. And the remixes are equally dope, with my favorite being the darker techno stylings of the Galactic Nights Raw Remix. Get on it! - Gotta Dance Dirty
We are thrilled to announce our first signees, SPF 5000, and to be releasing their debut music video for “Make Love to Me”! Sharing this release with our wonderful followers, collaborators, and friends is a dream come true!
SPF 5000 are a darling trio consisting of members Rob Phillips, Daymeyn Gantt and Amy Douglas….Amy Douglas you say? Why yes the very one that has graced our beloved blog for years now with her different appearances on other artists tracks including the new one from All Dom Wrong. - Nerdy Frames, NZs Electronic/Indie Mouthpiece

SPF 5000 is the white-hot catalyst that ignited the new NYC label with a musical tribute for NickyDigital.com, which was performed in late 2011. The record label aims to collect and produce dance-floor indie pop for a global audience. The first release on the label will be “Make Love to Me,” an attitude-laden electro track from SPF 5000, complete with a sugar-sweet, sassy, and colorful music video.
... the night boasts a performance from SPF 5000, featuring the always-worth-catching Amy Douglas on vocals; the band is helping to inaugurate Nicky Digital's new Knight Time Records label via the floor-filling “Make Love to Me" track. - TimeOutNY.com
Amy Douglas has done much to warrant digital ink on this site, from belting out the blues rock with Feints to calling the living members of Queen a bunch of “sackless twats.” But life comes full circle as we return to the thing that first drew us to Douglas sometime in the last few years, and that’s her Somerville electro-funk trio SPF 5000.
While Boston dance floors are no stranger to the electric pulse of SPF 5000′s raunchy post-disco, the trio has also been turning heads and shaking asses in the New York club scene. And now one of the Dirty Apple’s beacons of underground nightlife has tapped Douglas and crew to bring the beat global.
SPF 5000 is the first act to sign to Nicky Digital’s new record label, Knight Time Records, and will drop their first rump-rumbler single “Make Love To Me” on August 13. The track has Douglas’ signature bedroom howl, but also showcases the slick dance production of Rob Phillips and has Daymeyn Gantt’s “get down” fingerprints all over it, a mix of freestyle and electro and 103.5 KTU FM.
“It’s incredibly exciting and an honor to be a part of this brand new vision,” Douglas says in the signing’s announcement. “Nicky Digital is an inspiring trailblazer in his own right, and so to be able to showcase brand new sounds and vision together, feels like a baptism of sorts, a new beginning.”
Knight Time Records is a partnership with longtime Nicky Digital collaborator The Sleepover Party (and is expected to specialize in “remix-ready dance floor indie pop.” They’re off to a good start.
